    • Our HDT was tandem and we had/have insurance thru Progressive.  We had to be towed once with the 5th wheel and it was a non-issue getting it done.  Tow truck arrived about 45 minutes after we called Progressive.  The cost of the tow was around $1200 if I had to pay out of pocket. This past September we had to have our tandem rear axle motorhome towed.  No issue with Progressive but Progressive uses a 3rd party service for roadside assistance and towing.  We sat on the shoulder of a busy interstate for over 4 hours waiting on a tow truck that was only 15 minutes away.  The holdup was securing payment for the tow ($3400) before they would send the tow truck. Neither of these events affected our premium.  Progressive has been insuring our RVs for the past 15 years and these are the only "claims" we have ever had with them.
    • Kind of sounds like a scam but anymore it is difficult to tell.  I received a call yesterday from my health insurance and they started the call with we need to confirm who you are and asked for my birthday and so on.  I told them first I need to confirm who you are.  That left the caller a little uneasy.  These scams are difficult to determine what is what.
    • Having had mine for some years now, I believe a 18k in living room and a 9k in bedroom would have been a better setup. Both mine are 12k and bedroom unit barely runs  and living room unit works. I went a year initially with just one in the living room and it worked well as long as we didn't run the clothes dryer. dryer would heat up bedroom in the summer months. But we stayed mostly in the south due to my work.I was initially hung up on staying 120v.  Don't see how relocating to basement area would benefit you.
    • My ramps were about 15' long.  As mentioned the short ramps will work fine with a Jeep.  I would also put the Jeep 4L in 1st gear and the Jeep would idle up the ramps with my foot off the clutch with no problems.  The advantage to the longer ramps is I could carry other vehicles (without 5th wheel connected) on the back of the truck when needed and those vehicles did not have to have the same ground clearance of the Jeep. Unloading Jeep
    • The inside unit on a typical mini split probably weighs about the same as a mini split so I would guess it would be sturdy enough.  The inside unit needs to be mounted on a secure mount that doesn't move.  The copper lines will not tolerate any movement. I have heard of people using special flex lines but I am not familiar with those.
