    • We had that very experience just 2 days ago and we each got the same call. It started with a computer that asked if I was available and the other asked Pam the same thing. The first time it happened we both declined to speak to them but about 24 hours later it happened again. Mine came in first and so I said yes and shortly a person came on the line. At that point she asked me to verify who I am and I responded that I would only do so after I had verification that she was who she claimed to be. After some stuttering, she agreed to give me the customer number she was calling about. When it was mine I then gave her my birthdate.
    • The Possum Belly (as Spacecraft calls it, basement to me.) Is open from in front of the axle to the front jacks. Not insulated on the sides or floor and that's where the water tank lives and most of the plumbing. So far I've gotten by with a "Milk House Heater" where the pump and most of the exposed plumbing is with only two freeze ups that thankfully caused no damage. If I put a large battery bank there I will need to be sure it doesn't get cold enough to cause an issue. Last fall I reconnected a thermostat to the Gas Furnace and used it during the coldest days to keep the area warm. Had no protection from the North winds where I parked. I did have my second freeze up even with that, but I didn't put the heat tape on the exposed pipes like I have before and that may have been the issue. Keeping the basement warm in the winter will help with the living area floors. I will try to insulate at least the doors and hopefully the floor. I could do skirting, but putting it up and then taking it down it doesn't last very long and is a pain.  Rod
    • Definitely would use mobile AC hose and bulkheads at the sleeper floor.  Because the need is likely less than 100 hours a years, my concern is not really worth the effort, but would be mounting the condenser horizontal.  I have a diesel bunk heater that I like, so wont need the mini for heat. My travel style at this point would only need the AC for sleeping. I wont likely be at the rig during the day. No pets or children.
    • Our HDT was tandem and we had/have insurance thru Progressive.  We had to be towed once with the 5th wheel and it was a non-issue getting it done.  Tow truck arrived about 45 minutes after we called Progressive.  The cost of the tow was around $1200 if I had to pay out of pocket. This past September we had to have our tandem rear axle motorhome towed.  No issue with Progressive but Progressive uses a 3rd party service for roadside assistance and towing.  We sat on the shoulder of a busy interstate for over 4 hours waiting on a tow truck that was only 15 minutes away.  The holdup was securing payment for the tow ($3400) before they would send the tow truck. Neither of these events affected our premium.  Progressive has been insuring our RVs for the past 15 years and these are the only "claims" we have ever had with them.
    • Kind of sounds like a scam but anymore it is difficult to tell.  I received a call yesterday from my health insurance and they started the call with we need to confirm who you are and asked for my birthday and so on.  I told them first I need to confirm who you are.  That left the caller a little uneasy.  These scams are difficult to determine what is what.
