  1. I was given a pint can of DeoxIT about 50 years ago by an uncle who was an electrican, still have about 1/3 can. Doubt I'll live long enough to empty the can. It wasn't full when I received it.
  2. I have one of those (RV's post) 50A receptacle testers for quick N dirty testing. If it displays anything but OK I grab my VOM and do the real testing. If that too results in good numbers, then I plug in the MH, and the built-in EMS will only allow connection if it is satisfied everything is OK. I am not an electrician; I did school myself in what to test for without frying me.
  3. Never apologize for your opinion, right or wrong it's yours; 7% of the U.S.A. population served in the military to preserve your right to express your opinion.
  4. That sounds like a paraphrase of Confucius.😁
  5. The selling dealer is only allowed to issue a temporary paper license plate for the state in which they are licensed to do business. Dealing with MO is entirely your responsibility.
  6. Yes it is not hard to break a wrist or hand if the installer makes a mistake. This is for Dometic 2 step awings: https://documents.dometic.com/media/download/56240?templateId=0 Here is the A&E pdf for replacing awning fabric with a chart on page 7 showing number of turns with,as you said, awning tube 2' from coach: https://bryantrv.com/docs2/docs/aespring.pdf If anyone is interested.
  7. I've posted it previously, can't remember where. The inventors of AI are now asking congress to pass laws governing the how, when, why, where, and to what limits AI can be used before it's too late. IMO they know something the rest of do not-yet. https://hai.stanford.edu/news/congress-gets-serious-about-artificial-intelligence
  8. This is my opinion, so don't hit the ceiling. IMO we RV buyers have done this to ourselves by shopping for the lowest price and accepting less than first-class workmanship. I wonder what percentage of Rvers choose to buy a Airstream trailer or other high quality TT vs a lower quality/ cheaper trailer. Complaints about poor workmanship and quality of materials are common, but the RV mfgrs. build what sells best, which IMO is glitz and fancy electronics. My first TT did not have electric lights inside It had one propane light, but it was built very solid and tight, It never developed a water leak or require something fixed after a trip that fell apart. The bottom line is, "we actually do get what we pay for."
  9. It is a somber day for me. I have traced my military roots to the revolutionary war. When I learned the history of Decoration Day, it originated with Confederate widows after the civil war.
  10. Look for a Cummins Coach Care location nearby. There is one at 1800 Fryar Avenue Sumner, WASHINGTON 98390 425 235-3400
  11. The commercial interstate trucking industry has been doing that for decades already. reference: https://hbkcpa.com/trucking-companies-adhering-to-a-complex-network-of-state-taxes/
  12. FWIW, the previous owner of my MH changed the inverter/charger which was mounted on the ceiling of the compartment. He mounted the new inverter/charger on the floor of the compartment instead, if his instance all the cables were a bit too long because the batteries are under that compartment.. That makes it easier for me because now I have to replace that inverter/charger unit.
  13. IMO walking through an unoccupied campsite is no different than walking through any grassy area around the office, no harm no foul.
  14. Thanks again Derek! That reads like, yes there must be staffing changes at the VA, starting at the top. IMO everyone working for the VA- in admin, must be a military veteran.
  15. I agree,IMO his driving demonstrated how much he thought of his family.
  16. Buying an ESC is no different than buying health insurance on your person. You are betting you'll encounter high medical expenses during the life of the contract; the Ins. company is betting you'll stay healthy and not need medical care. A man on a different RVing forum now wishes he had bought an ESC when he bought a newer MH. The engine blew 2 different times, resulting in his out-of-pocket expenses of $30,000 total. i would not recommend an ESC for a towable, but , new trailers have so much electronics and CANBUS in them they are very exensive to repair/replace the electronics systems. I would not buy an ESC from a selling dealer, the price is too inflated, plus they want the buyer to add the ESC cost into the financing, which greatly increases the total cost of the extended service contract. Contact wholesalewarranties.com They are an independent ESC agency and find the best deal for that particular persons needs. We bought an ESC from Camping World (paid cash) when we bought this MH from consignment. Our reasoning was, since this MH had been parked in a barn for 8 years, since the owner was in poor health, buying the ESC seemed prudent. The ESC more than paid for itself during the 3 yr. contract, including deductibles and diagnostic fees (which BTW must be performed and paid by the owner before anything else) That's my opinion; it and $2 will buy a cup of coffee at some places.
  17. The way I read that website his pickup has a 11,000lb. towing capacity; that pickup will run out of carrying capacity before anything else. It's limited by the weight capacity of the SRW load range . For example (since we don't know his tire size), a 235/85R16 load range E tire has a maximum load capacity of 3,040#. Which means the rear axle has a maximum capacity of 6,080# for a SRW pickup. Crew cab, 8’ box (4WD) with single rear wheels: 6.0L: 4990 / 11000 6.6L: 5262 / 11600 Towing specs are listed in the owners manual.
  18. It's a play on words, yes misleading to a casual reader.
  19. You are right of course. In the beginning I was paying what is now Dish and the programming was add-free. It was on C-band back then.
  20. She in is Canada, so one must assume it involves Canadian laws and regulations; and i assume applicants must be a citizen of Canada to obtain a Canada commercial drivers license and work in Canada.
  21. Ray,IN

    Tug test.

I was pounded with the tug-test when I was taught to drive a rig back in the 1970's My "instructor" was a man getting ready to retire from trucking. I didn't do much road driving; he said learning the ropes in the truck lot was where a driver earned his money, anyone could drive in a straight line. When we bought a dually pickup and 5er, I did a tug-test in the dealers lot, the salesman asked what I was doing when I only raised the landing legs a few inches at first. I towed a 5er for 11 years and only dropped one once, but the legs prevented damage to anything but my ego. Yup, I had forgotten to engage the safety lever on the 20K Reese hitch.
  22. "Being plagued with adds"; how is that different that paying over $100/month to watch Dish Network with adds?
  23. Luxury RV park is the name of the park, not the rating.
