  1. Top-heavy is the word. That's about as bad as the guys who haul autos for a living using a 1T dually and a wedge trailer hauling 3-4 autos.
  2. We've never full-timed, just traveled extensively for several months at a time. In your circumstances do not buy into an HMO insurance plan, they are confined to select local medical Dr.s and if you leave that HMO area, medical care is very expensive or non-existent. We have a PPO plan which works nationwide, the only thing to remember is ask before making an appt. if they are a preferred provider(PPO) in the insurance co. to which you are paying for coverage.
  3. Great innovation! Give a whole new meaning to the term Motorhome. While the power pack isn't very big it is a huge step forward. "The Airstream eStream's electric drivetrain unit was developed in partnership with industry titan ZF. It consists of two offset electric motors that each produce 30 kW of continuous power or a maximum of 90 kW. That's about 40 hp of continuous power or a max of 121 hp each—and a maximum of 66 lb-ft of torque." source: https://www.motortrend.com/news/airstream-estream-electric-drivetrain-trailer/ Derek, this appears to be better towing stats. than the Ford electric pickup. https://teslanorth.com/2020/10/20/tesla-model-3-airstream-trailer/
  4. cotreker, I've had TST 510 flow-through sensors on my Silverado rubber valve stems since 2016. The tires loose about 2#/month. Since our MH was out of commission the past year, I removed the Silverado sensors, tires still lose about 2#/month.
  5. I've never liked using silicone on an RV, seems it never adheres well long-term. There is a reason it is the cheapest sealant on the shelf at stores.
  6. I agree. My wife has chronic back pain and is on Hydrocodone. Since she must call the Dr. and order the medication monthly, when she calls she give the Dr. the name, address and phone number of the CVS where we will be the next stop. The Dr. calls in the script, and it is waiting for us when we arrive. This happens regardless of which state we are in at the time. DW has been taking that medication since 2016 and has never encountered problems having the monthly script filled. Even my TRICARE for life/Express-scripts will ship a monthly supply to her in the USPS mail to our home address. This happens with all major chain stores like Kroger and with Walmart/Sams Club this happens the same way at them all. The only requirement is a photo ID to pickup the prescription.
  7. Your description sounds like the frame is now twisted or out of square. That cannot be remedied by a mobile welder. It requires a well-equipped frame shop to make the necessary corrections and welding. I agree with Chalkie, contact Lippert NOW! make a record of every conversation you have with Lippert and the dealer who sold the trailer. Most times that kind if damage is due to the driver making very sharp turns/spot turns(or when backing) and dragging the wheels sideways. A question Lippert will ask is, "what is the actual loaded weight of the trailer?" If it is 10# over the GVWR your claim will be denied. Reason? overloading voided the warranty. BTW, if you haven't already, read the warranty closely so you know your rights.
  8. Yep, directly from the company. They have great customer service. In 2008 I bought a 507 cap sensor kit from them and a few weeks later was having a problem. I called their number on a Sunday to leave a message for Monday; however a man answered the phone and asked how he could help. I could hear wind blowing on his phone and asked if he could hear me. He apologized and said he was on the golf course but he'd be happy to help me, which he did, and solved my problem. He said it was his turn to be on-call.
  9. That pretty well covers all the facts and options, now it's to make the tough decisions.
  10. Fact, Dexter and other axle mfgrs. say to inspect axle bearing annually or 12,000 miles, whichever happens first. To me this made my E-Z lube jerk fitting useless and a waste of time. In reality they were designed for boat trailer axles according to Dexter. IMO they are a waste of money installing them on a trailer not intended to be submerged in water hub-deep. reference: https://www.dexteraxle.com/Resources/Learning-Library/Informational/5198/proper-bearing-lubrication-type I've owned trailers with standard axles and E-Z lube axles, both require removing the hub and bearings to inspect electric brakes, again annually. If I were to buy a new trailer again, it would not have E-Z lube hubs.
  11. I recently bought a wireless landline AT&T phone system, it has "smart phone number blocking". It says it will automatically detect robo-calls and calls from fake numbers then block them. I haven't tried it out yet though.
  12. You are right of course, at times there could be not autos available for rent at that particular time in Chicago or Boston or any city named. That is not the same a no rental companies there, or in your case not a particular vehicle. That was not the original question though.
  13. I can forsee the future of EV's after the industry switches from LiPo to upcoming battery technology with much more storage capability and the "battery" weighs even less. There are around 4 new battery technologies in the development stage now. The elephant in the room is aging, inadequate electrical grid to supply adequate electricity to recharge batteries in addition to supplying everyday needs. Some deny that is a fact, but internet searches prove otherwise. I apologize for getting off-topic Derek.
  14. He does have quite a bit more leeway than any other CEO, because he owns a larger percentage of stock and founded the company.
  15. You said you'll stick with the tape (sorry couldn't resist) on the other forum.
  16. There is always Uber or renting a car at the destination.
  17. Elon Musk doesn't have to ask before acting, like GM and Ford must do with their BOD.
  18. I learned just last week GM is owned in part by China, not wholly but partial. https://investguiding-com.ngontinh24.com/articles/what-percentage-of-gm-does-china-own#toc-0
  19. When I see/hear about something like this, my first thought is; I wonder when the owner last had his undercarriage inspected. Me, I inspect the entire under-side of my vehicles when I grease the fittings. Of course things mechanical do break regardless of inspection schedule.
  20. There is actually no need to spend $300+ for one of those, when a $20 hard start will work.https://www.coastalclimatecontrol.com/blog/soft-hard-or-easy-where-does-one-possibly-start?tmpl=component&print=1&layout=default?tmpl=component&print=1&layout=default?tmpl=component&print=1&layout=default&page=
  21. It reflects tongue weight, not how evenly the trailer is loaded, nor if it is overweight.
  22. Well, my 1TB Seagate external HD is my initial backup; Microsoft OneDrive is my backup to my backup. Everything is on both in case my computer pukes or the Seagate dies too. If my computer HD dies, I have a HP 1TB SSD standing by to recover everything. Now when I die all that dies too.
  23. Av8r, I'll add my 2 cents on sensors and long stems. I've never had any issue with the TST 507 flow-through sensors(bought mine in 2008) on my brass dually stems. Shoot, many people don't even balance tires with dual applications, but I have all 6 balanced.
