We got the remnants of that storm system Sunday morning. Heavy rain, wind, pea and marble size hail for about an hour. It was funny watching hail bounce off the roof, still haven't inspected the shingles for damage; gotta get my spotting scope out of the safe tonight.

Many years ago someone posted their 12V solenoid-operated water saving device. It had a push button at each faucet. You held down the button until a sensor detected hot water, then it stopped returning cold water to the fresh tank and allowed hot water to the shower head or faucet. That is brand-new, I'm anxious to find out the details or how it all occurs. I wonder if Home Depot acts as a middleman or a remote outlet. It will sure benefit those retires (me) who live over 100 miles from a military exchange.

I agree. Small claims court is a viable option, and the publicity would certainly be a factor. All he has to do is present proof the tanks were empty when he dropped-off the trailer at the dealers.

I installed 3 Renogy AGM batteries last May, cleaned all the battery cable ends then, but didn't clean the ends at the inverter. I know the internal cooling fan is bad, if I can find a suitable replacement I'll do that too. The fan is about the only thing user-replacable AFAIK.

Thank you for enlightening me about the hard-reset, I'll try that this weekend. I've been clearing the faults about once a week. Xantrex inverters are the Rolls-Royce of inverters. Their most common use is in the boating industry. Hart was the best, but sadly the business is gone.

I remember in the 1980's the Commissary powers that be, decided they were getting too many complaints from town neighboring military installations about undercutting their prices. Not long afterwards Commissary prices began to rise. By the time I retired in 1992 it was cheaper to shop off-base. I still receive emails from the Exchange, but when I sign-in to their website, I can go buy athletic stuff, fishing gear, etc. for less at Dicks Sporting Goods, often the same brand name. And the DOD is concerned about the low rate of volunteers for the military___. I see now they have lowered the fitness standards yet again to attract more volunteers. The army is even running a fat camp to prepare potential recruits for active duty. I can't say how I feel about all that without being banned from the forums.

Sadly the Xantrex RS models are obsolete and not supported. Even the replacements the 2012 and 2013 is now obsolete. My RS2000 displays a fault warning every time I plug into shore power, and it takes repeating that act then pushing reset on the front panel to get it to begin charging the batteries. Xantrex website and tech support says there are only a few user repairable parts inside, cooling fans, etc. Xantrex has authorized repair shops scattered about the country, most are near large bodies of water as watercraft is their main market. Xantrex website has a page listing all their authorized repair centers. There were several in California, some in FL, a few around the Great Lakes, and the only other I remember was in TN near their big lake.

I would expect about the same results as washing a car and windows in hot weather and bright sun. If you're concerned, spray a light mist on the roof first, the evaporation should cool them some. That's what I do when washing vehicles in the sun.

Yep, Dometic has the condensate hose directed out through the vent slots. Norcold has the condensate hose in an evaporator cup attached to the heater box. Same result, different methods. The button with small holes in the end of the hose is to reduce warm outside air getting back up the hose into the fridge, plus keep small insects out.

In this area of IN the established mobile techs, trip charge $150, $125/hr. I called a recent graduate of RV tech school(school in TX), his rates were, $50 trip charge, $100/hr. I assume as he gains experience his rates will increase.

It would be interesting to know the average age of forum users, by year and type of device they prefer. I suspect todays technologies interest younger people more than we older folks. The have instant communication at their fingertips via facebook, twitter, etc.; and from my observations very few use a desktop computer today, mostly they use a smart phone.

I replaced my desktop 1TB, HDD (crashed) with a 1TB, SSD. While I was in there I added 8GB memory. Since I had a new SSD I thought it's a great time to install Linux Mint-Tina. It's so much faster than W10 it's amazing. Now I want to go to Cinnamon since Tina has reached end of life, gotta figure out how to accomplish that.

Yes, replace the faulty circuit breaker. Don't cheap out on the motor, buy the same NM torque rating.

Yep, oversizing an air conditioning unit results in high humidity and cool air, my dad did that and his house always felt clammy during summer. The A/C company rep argued with dad, but the money won out.
