  1. While trying to find that video, I ran across a video of a couple who had a 10 BB battery bank. They switched to Enduro Lithium batteries for several reasons. I found it interesting Enduro makes 12V, 24V, and 36V batteries.
  2. Geesh, by the time you get it past all the inspectors whims, you'll have more time and work, and money, into the shed than I do my brick house. Then to top it off, those same inspectors will use your ideas for suggestions on the next project they inspect.
  3. John if you click the link underlined in my first post, that is the spec-sheets. What you described sounds like the Renogy specs. Renogy stated 14.4V for bulk and equalization-mode. I have the Xantrex charger set for that, and 3-stage charging, but It also has the option for 2-stage charging. Float is maintaining at 13.3V, however I had to unplug the batter temperature sensor because it was causing the float to be 13.8V due to temperature compensation. (I suspect the sensor is bad)
  4. OTOH, within the past year 2 new RV sales stores have opened about 50 miles from me.
  5. That would be quite similar to Newmar selling out to Winnebago and Tiffin selling out to, well you get the drift. Bottom line, the owners think it is a wise business decision, and their business to do with as they choose.
  6. . Friday I installed 3 new Renogy 12V, 100A solar deep-cycle batteries in our MH ($189.95 ea). They were built 07/22 in Vietnam. In a home solar installation Renogy says they can last up to 8 years. I got 3 years out of the Deka LA batteries from Sams Club. I'm adjusting the charge settings now. Friday I set the charger to AGM/ 70A total for all 3 batteries, They went straight to Absorption phase @14.8V, it took 24 hrs for them to reach float stage @ 13.2VDC. I forgot to check standing voltage on them prior to installation. Does that sound reasonable?
  7. I stopped reading last night, the NFPA free website reproduction was so small I got eye-strain. I'll have to wait on Dutch's cliff-notes.
  8. Rod based upon his statements there is one extenuating/special circumstances, He has/will have moved to a different state. Otherwise he has missed the 2023 open signup period for Obamacare medical insurance.
  9. 👍 I totally forgot that most important fact. Good catch! I knew you meant to type "wouldn't" instead of would.
  10. I'm reading it now, at: https://link.nfpa.org/free-access/publications/70/2023 An interesting fact, NFPA 70 2023 is incorporated into the NEC for all 50 states. quote:" Several key changes to the 2023 NEC focus on ground-fault circuit interrupters (GFCIs) and arc-fault circuit interrupters (AFCIs)."
  11. There is a way to accomplish increasing CG water pressure into the RV. Use a booster pump near the city water inlet inside the RV. That one is rated at 5gpm/55psi. The downside is, during periods of extremely low water pressure your neighbors will suffer even more while your booster pump is drawing city water to maintain yours.
  12. Thank you for providing that Kirk, it clears up many things I've read about on various RVing forums.
  13. One couple brought their cat along on our Alaska caravan and never had any issues. Most of the people on the caravan never knew they had a cat in the MH.
  14. Gary I don't like the cloud idea, what happens if hackers somehow install ransomware on the servers?? Dishnetwork computers are still down due to a ransomware attack a week ago. You cannot call and do business, you only get a recording saying they are experiencing problems. Shoot, last year even LastPass password manager was hacked, they are still in recovery mode. Since LastPass cannot ever see my passwords, the only data they can find that was compromised was names and address type stuff. I've about made up my mind to switch to a Linux OS when Microsoft ends support for W 10 anyway.(assuming I'm still kicking)
  15. This website explains your question in detail: https://www.myrv.us/electric/ An RV 4-prong 50A pedestal receptacle is no different than a household 50A 120/240VAC plug. The difference is inside the RV. The main breaker panel is constructed so the 2 120VAC bus bars cannot be connected to one breaker, one one 120VAC leg may be attached to a breaker. UNLESS the RV is built to use a 240VAC clothes dryer or other 240VAC appliances.
  16. Just when the people with W 11 are getting comfortable, along comes this; https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/technology/oh-dear-windows-12-might-have-just-been-leaked-by-microsoft-and-intel/ar-AA187nvd?ocid=msedgntp&cvid=fe546436b23b44a0863ca6501f5a3c4c&ei=94 That pretty-much seals the deal; if I'm still alive when W 12 comes out I'm switching to Linux OS because my W 10 will not be supported. W 12 might be totally on a cloud according to that article.
  17. About 3/4 or more of the "Alcan" is in Canada, of which there is more to see and do than in Alaska IMO. The most unusual novelty experience is to have a Sourtoe Cocktail at Dawson City, YT. on the shore of the mighty Yukon river. EDIT: I didn't meant to quote you, but don't know how to unring the bell.
  18. bruce posted what appears to be a driver having or had a heart attack, which happens more that we ever hear about on the news. Don, utube video is of a truck that lost air brakes and spring brakes, which very seldom happens if the operator performs the daily air brake check diligently. That size truck should have had at least an exhaust brake or engine brake to aid slowing. It also has a manual transmission that can be down-shifted, even at the risk of ruining the engine when faced with that situation. I think the truck driver knew he had no brakes soon enough to drive off the highway before reaching the school bus, you can hear him yelling in his dash cam video.
  19. Replace the water heater intake check valve if hot water is backflowing into the cold water plumbing.
  20. That is the type problem my cousin ran into when building on a Florida room to his trailer. One inspector gives the OK, another follows and have a different opinion. Makes me wonder if greasing the palm is expected.
  21. Man, that sounds like Tesla is going make a major jump in technology, especially with the one-piece structural casting.
