    • Thanks for the votes and response.  It's a quite nice day outside today where I am and I thought I'd work on installing the device. Wrong. Can't seem to find a good place to put the 10 inch screen and the mounting options on it are very limited and the dash space on my Volvo doesn't mesh with it at all. Above is the mounting option supplied. It looks like I could get some "Ram" components that might fit into the bracket on the back of the screen.  Second issue is the card I purchased would not load so I just installed the small card that came with it for now. Of course it won't sync with the android only device that's in the dash. Not sure if I can trick it with the android phone or not, to get my music to be played through the truck speakers and not the speakers in the unit.  Maps, Waze and Google maps all work very well and the screen seems very responsive. It came with 4 wired cameras, but I haven't even started with trying to decide where to place them. I thinks it will be much easier if at least two people. One to hold the camera in various places while another is looking at the views provide. I suppose you could put a long power wire on the screen and take it to all the places, but not sure how that would really work.    While the photo at the bottom is the old truck the one this is going into is the same brand, make and model. Just a year older.    Rod
    • HB 3297 Effective January 1, 2025 Caption: Relating to the elimination of regular mandatory vehicle safety inspections for noncommercial vehicles and the imposition of replacement fees.   The Vehicle Safety Inspection Program is eliminated for non-commercial vehicles by amending Transportation and Health and Safety Codes. The bill does not eliminate vehicle emissions inspections on non-commercial vehicles. Emissions inspections are still required in these Texas counties:  Houston-Galveston-Brazoria Program Area: Brazoria, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, and Montgomery Counties Dallas-Fort Worth Program Area: Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, Rockwall, and Tarrant Counties  Austin Area: Travis and Williamson Counties El Paso Area: El Paso County The bill does not eliminate safety inspections on commercial vehicles.   This leaves me with a question as I self certify about 3 months before returning to Texas January 1. My registration would be marked an inspection is due. Is an inspection still required or waived? Clay in Florida with Class A and tow
    • I looked into it, and it appears that the reimbursement is ONLY for high option.  I have standard. Thanks for the info.
    • I think that sometimes you get what you pay for, but Lectric, considering its mid-level price, has been very good in my opinion as regards quality and customer support. They are actually somewhat customizable with different aftermarket seats, pedals, etc. If you are more adventurous you can even change out the control screen. The best I have seen is one gentleman has designed and built a sidecar for his Lectric 2.0 and is in the process of patenting it and finding a manufacturer to mass produce it.
