BobL We are in Parker, AZ today and will be in Las VEgas on 4/1 (Thursday) for a week. Probably at the Las Vegas RV Resort out by Sams Town. Give us a call if you have any time to stop in LV. Maybe lunch at Flying J or something.

Hi everyone, remember us???

We are on the road, at Avi Casino in Laughlin, NV. Was going to take off for Las Vegas today, but wind advisory out so staying put til tomorrow. Going to try and go over Hover Dam. Didn't want to tackle that with 40-45 mph wind gusts.

Our end trip is to Missoula, MT for a workamping job at the KOA, if anyone is in the area this summer, look us up.

Made it into our summer work site at Adventureland in Iowa today. Will be here till the end of September, then onto Hutchinson for the HDT rally.

Had to make a pit stop in Kansas City to replace transmission fluid lines to the radiator, plus to wash the truck, undercarriage, and trailer from their bath of trans fluid. ( ;):D )

I can highly recommended MCH Kenworth on the west side of Kansas City if you are in the area and need quick, competent, and friendly service.

Oh, and MCH has great prices on Sears Elite 80 seats! (two tone black and red seats to go with my black and red truck!)

Bonnie and I made it to Junction City, Kansas. We are at the New Horizons factory to pick up our new forty-five foot New Horizons Majestic fifth wheel. Not sure how long we will be here, spent the afternoon getting the Teton parked and the New Horizons pulled in along side (door to door). Tomorrow we will place a walkway from door to door and start moving. They have a few minor things to finish up and I will have to get a punch list done. I have seen a couple of minor things and there may be an extra shelf or two to add. All in all after first look we are very pleased with what we have had built, and the workmanship of the trailer. We will post a link to pictures in the near future.

Hi Dan, saw you were from Alaska...Judy and I are retiring in early July and will be taking a 14 day Alaska Cruise (land and sea). We fly into vancouver and then fly to Anchorge where we will spend several days touring and staying at Denali and Mt McKinley. This is our first cruise and we will celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary on it. I have always wanted to visit Alaska and this will be the first opportunity and so we are looking forward to it.

As a part of our post retirement lifestyle we are planning on full timing it, and combining that with workkamping. What advice would you have for both our cruise, and our plans to workkamp and fulltime it?

We have a NuWa Discover America 2004 5th wheel and pull it with an F250 Diesel club cab.

My apology for suggesting we are from AK. Last year we had the privilege of visiting of visiting that paradise, seeing old friends and making a few more in the process.

We pulled a 36' Mobile Suites with an 01 Volvo and carried a PT Cruiser on the back of the truck. It is very convenient to be flexible to look around when we get there and very safe.

We were not able to visit Denali, Fairbanks and that area due to the smoke from 53 fires and my wife's asthma, but did enjoy the Kenai Peninsula & Homer while the smoke blew away.

Suggestions:

Take good cameras and use them. Take time to enjoy the "free stuff." Some of the richest memories come from the stops make where the entry fee was $5.00 and you saw native displays and talked to the Natives, including places where the parking lot was nearly empty. Take money, their season is short. Take your time, enjoyment will find you.

These are the only thoughts which come to me. We spent time where we did not plan to and they were the richest. You will run across Escapees in your travels, they are nice people!

Stay well and stay happy,

dan

Danielle and I arrived in Woodland Park, CO for the summer. Diamond Campground. Come and visit.

Arrived with the temp at 30* and snow flurries all the way up from the Springs. Just wet on the road, though. Got unhooked and the sky cut loose. Two inches and 23* this morning.

Arrived in Baraboo, WI awaiting the mobilization for the Ho-Chunk Casino upgrade. We are staying at the Fox Hill RV park about a mile from the Casino. The winds are blowing around 30 knots today.

Settled in at the family farm in East Texas, near Jacksonville. It was a little windy getting here yesterday, but the only movement was the cab of the truck swaying back and forth a little. Makes you think you're moving in the other direction when that happens, but the rig drives staight down the road!

Enjoy your summer.

As a result of all the great help and advice received on this forum, and of a great shake-down trip a couple months' back...

The Freedmans are now doing a 3 month "great western loop" from Phoenix up to Calgary, across to Vancouver, then back down to Phoenix.

Currently we're at the Grand Canyon (28 degrees last night but high of 75 today). Our northbound itinerary is:

Page May 27

Moab May 31

Salt Lake City June 4

Teton National Park June 11

Yellowstone June 14

Great Falls June 19

Calgary (where we lived for 25 years) starting June 23.

We're still putting the rest of the itinerary together, but will be between Calgary and Vancouver for most of July, and coming down the west side through the middle of August.

Leaving South Florida sometime this weekend. My brother and his family are bringing the yet unnamed 2001 770 down. They are leaving tonight after work. Three licensed drivers so they could come straight through, but I doubt that my sister in law will want to drive or allow the 17 year old son behind the wheel either. We will see when they arrive. It has been hard waiting, and a little expensive. Hopefully I will be able to start doing some of the work on the truck myself and decrease some of the labor costs that I have recently paid. We will be heading to Orlando for our first stop, north and east of Atlanta for another brief stop to visit relatives and then to Chattanooga. Don't know how long we will be there. Want to go to the top of Look Out Mountain and maybe the cave, have been told the Aquarium is a great spot to visit also. Will have to skip some of the attractions due to time constraints. Lamberts in Sikeston, Mo will be the last recreational stop I think and then to Ottumwa, Ia for a few days before going to Des Moines for the Wing Ding. Wonder how many HDT's will be there? Been a good winter in Florida but I'm ready to head North.
