Jaydrvr
The idea behind the Donvel valves is to control the air flow into and out of the tractor air bags, whether sleeper, drive axle, or steer axle, controlling and improving the ride. I think they might even have them for seats, not sure. Jay
Parrformance
I put a set on the sleeper, stopped the cab from rocking back and forth when maneuvering the camper into a site. So you just put them in-line with the air hose to the air bag? How do you pick the right one for the job? billr
Call the guy. He will be sure you get right ones sized to the location. I installed on cab bags first then got them for the rear bags and Air Hitch bags. I noticed a difference in the cab for sure. It slows the reaction on hitch up and down a bit. rpsinc
Sounds like a flow control for air. I encounter this type device in hydraulic equipment. They call them velocity fuses. They can be adjusted to control the speed at which a cylinder will move esp on the return stroke of a single acting cylinder. Quote Marcel
billr
I think it’s a similar deal. Lance A Lott
Just Google Donvel valves they will tell you which ones. I did cab, seats and axle bags. The cab ones made a huge difference the others seem worth it but I didn't get to drive it before and after, I dont remember what came up but it was a couple of weeks so harder to tell. The cab and seat ones are installed by cutting the pipe, the axle ones you remove the fitting and screw these in then put the fitting back. They are not adjustable, I think they could be made easily but am not sure it's worth reinventing the wheel.
trimster
Ahhh. Found them. http://www.donvel.com/seat/ Nice. I think I'll start with the seats, then the cab. Appreciate the help folks. Parrformance
My cab rocked like a drunken Karen at 3:00am after she piled in to 3 parked cars and a bus stop pavilion. The Donvel's stopped the excessive rocking side to side for sure. We rarely put much air in the seats, so I look forward to hearing if you see a great improvement in the seats with the Donvel's. Parrformance
In my case it was a combination of lack of skill/practice driving an HDT with an automatic at slow speed, combined with a set of worn out cab shocks. The Donvels keep the air rushing in an out of the bags unrestricted. If I understand the theory this starts the air rocking/traveling from one bag to the other, causing a need for sea sick bags in the seat pockets🤢 Quote 2006 Volvo VNL 780, " Arvey" Volvo D12, 465hp, 1650 ft/lbs tq., ultrashift 2003 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 2010 Forest River Coachman Freedom Express 280RLS Jackalopee
