Brad NSW
Pulled the thermostat and look what I found! Truck was running at 150 water temp and max 180 engine temp. Had the radiator replace recently at a Freightliner shop and looks like they left me a present. It sure is nice to have it run at normal temps again!! Look at the bottom edge of the relief valve. pulled thermostat Edited December 14, 2020 by Brad NSW Quote 2010 Freightliner, DD15 Eaton Ultrashift, 2015 New Horizons 5th Wheel. Sent Pics and said they were the last ones touching the cooling system, when they replaced the radiator. No response. Called and left messages, no response. Par for the course with this dealership. noteven
Better place for it than on top of a piston. I would get a positive ID on what it is to make sure it is actually from your truck and not something lying in the bottom corner of the drain pan used for coolant last time the system was drained. An experience Volvo engine tech should be able to get it ID'd. You want to discover what it is for sure. When a business doesn't respond to me "reaching out" electronically I always take the angle that my email has landed in their penalty box via IT settings and pick up the old fashioned telephone and have a yak with somebody along the lines of "Is the thermostat in my engine supposed to be held open by a loose metal object?" Following this thread.... Quote "Are we there yet?" asked no motorcycle rider, ever.
