My previous DRV had barrel locks with a unique key (put on by previous owner). In reality if someone wants to steal from your basement I’d rather have them open with a 751 than pry open with a crowbar. Someone wondered, out loud, "I wonder what's in this compartment". Everyone else in the group pulled out their keys, and we looked in the compartment. Sweet Success brought up a good point the harder you make it for them to break in the more destructive they will get. Had a radio stolen out of our mustang they did a thousand dollars worth of damage to the dash board getting it out. I had it anchored in there with angle iron. This guy was determined to get it out. (But, could be a 1st time..."sometime"). Theft: - Guy with a 751 may "appear" to be the owner. However, no key or crowbar necessary - slot-head screwdriver can pry open most basement storage. Results in damaged door to repair. My pref = "thumb turn" (non locking) on doors. If you really want locking, there are other locking options from various suppliers. That was only if the door lock itself was the only one locked. The deadbolt locks were unique to each individual unit. Those keys are keyed differently for each lock, but I’m betting my key would probably open another pad somewhere out there, just not everyone.
