  1. Isn't there a check valve on the D12's that have caused issues like this before? I know others have fought this and a check valve was the culprit. Either between the filters and pump or pump and head.
  2. In 2015 we lost a driver side steer in Nashville on I-40. It was momentarily exciting.... then expensive for Loves to do a roadside call.
  3. You can move the world if you want. How much damage you do to your motorhome is another issue.
  4. Let me add a twist here... In the boat industry, we always fused at the battery to protect the wiring/cabling as well as the device. Especially with windlass', electric downriggers, etc. Better to blow a fuse than melt something that causes you to have to row or swim.
  5. Your 2000 VNL and my 1998 will have the same harness. Most of the time all the wiring was the same with fuses or solenoid relays installed to power the circuit. If heated seats were an option, there should be a fuse or solenoid in the fuse panel area. What would be safest, would be to run a new wire, fuse, and switch.
  6. Would have loved to go.... But have to work instead. If this was on a Sat or Sun I'm sure we could attend.
  7. The machine looks like an old square baler or thresher of some old forgotten vintage.
  8. Hurry on south! While it is a little cool here in southern AZ this am, 38*, it is sunny, and no clouds! We're not in Quartsite, but are 30 miles south of Phoenix near Casa Grand.
  9. One item to consider, is to put down a layer of plastic and put your insulation board on it as well. Box area in, tape the seams on the inside and outside. We know several people that live in the Bismark ND KOA year round. The use the pink or blue 4" insulation board, line the area with plastic, and most use a small electric heater underneath. Make sure to box in and heat your sewer and water as well. Many folks swear by this heated hose up there as well. https://nofreezewaterhose.com/pages/about-us As long as the furnace exhaust is outside the wall, go for it.
  10. That's what I was thinking, while the threaded end is the right size its the wrong type. I've had temporary luck putting a garden hose washer in the brass piece and tightening it until it seats. Find what type thread is on the PVC part and see if McMaster Carr has a fitting that will connect to the /brass/pex side for you.
  11. Are you talking about something this size? https://www.amazon.com/Lasko-100-MyHeat-Personal-Heater/dp/B003XDTWN2/ref=sr_1_4?crid=17OTSK5Y6AXAU&keywords=my+heat+heater&qid=1577485807&sprefix=my+heat++heater%2Caps%2C332&sr=8-4 We use one in our wet bay area during freezing temps.
  12. The vibration could be from tires that have sat for a year in the same position, or a U-joint. I would highly doubt a differential issue. Average temps are from 125* and up 225-250* depending on load and speed. I would assume that the load is heavy compared to an empty truck chassis. When I was pulling with a Dodge dually I could see 225-230 climbing some of the steeper mountains.
  13. And we're a couple of hours south in The Casa Grande/Maricopa AZ area... Its just a short drive....
  14. I'd go get the truck and run. They saw a walking checkbook.... Many of the truck stops that perform oil changes and such can do a DOT inspection.
  15. Got it! Thanks! When I put the tow bar apparatus on, I didn't look to see how long the pigtail on the fan was. We were in a little bit of a rush.
  16. Update- Until now we haven't needed any AC, but we are now in the Phoenix-Chandler-Mesa area, or actually just south in Maricopa/Casa Grande and it is a bit warm still, especially with that huge front windshield. So I have the fan, and I've had the front end off before to install a Blue Ox tow bar, but above Brad mentions not cutting the plug off from the original fan to wire to the replacement. So how has everyone wired the fan in?
  17. I would replace the O-rings while its apart. They're old, and have been thru miles and heat cycles. When I was playing with the Cummins 5.9 engines, I always used anti-seize on the studs or bolts on the exhaust side connections.
  18. Nope... I'm driving while you're polishing... Make sure to bring your safety belt...
  19. We are spending this Thanksgiving in Arizona at a park just west of Casa Grande. No snow, but its supposed to rain.
  20. When we were in cold climates and we were not paying for power, I always plugged the Volvo in for any temps below 40*. Since the block heater heats the coolant, which in turn flows thru the heater core, I consider it more a matter of driver comfort for those first 15-20 minutes waiting for the engine to warm enough to make some heat. Our old Cummins M-11 starts without help down to zero and below, but it sounds like an old Hit & Miss for a few seconds.... plus it takes care of any left over mosquitoes with the clouds of smoke....
  21. If you can get the head off the bolt, you might be able to drill the bolt out and run a Helicoil insert in and still use the hole.
  22. Dave, Can you put a small cut off wheel on your Die grinder? If it an air straight shaft die grinder, you may be able to use a half used wheel to cut thru the head/shaft of the bolt you have exposed.
