  1. We deal with a credit union and have a cash back CC plus our debit/atm card with ATM fees reimbursed. We try t go cashless as much as possible. Stores rarely give a discount for paying cash so why go through the hassle of using cash. We use cash once a week to buy 2 donuts(keep the change). That is it. About 10 years ago we decided to simplify our lives, limit ourselves to 1 credit card(we have extras) associated with our credit union and 1 financial institution. So much easier to deal with.
  2. First, never commit long term to a park unless you stay one night first. We generally move every week. From our central location we go North, South, East, West and dedicate a day to each. We then have extra days if needed to explore. Add in rest days, shopping, laundry and your week is filled up.
  3. I have always thought a pulley system high up on the RV wall might work. You can always go to a propane company and have them filled there or see if the local propane truck will come by your campsite.
  4. If you want pre-approval that should only involve your ability to pay the mortgage. I don't see why you would need a permanent for that. Probably another bank weirdness. Did you try more than one bank? I think your problem with the bank was just the bank. Banks have strange attitudes which is why we haven't used one in 20-30 years. Go to a credit union.
  5. Might just be the system. I haven't heard of anyone who has been throttled unless in a big city.
  6. This is meant for a drop ceiling that you don't have. Needs 12" above the ceiling. No go would be my opinion.
  7. We received a form in our mail this month. Maybe wait until you get your next mail shipment.
  8. Try a Credit Union. Alliant is very good with RVers, never used them for a mortgage.
  9. Dish was a lot less plus when you renew you get the best offer, Directv would never bargain until you threatened to leave. I figure payback is under a year.
  10. We just switched from Direct to Dish. We had them set up a tripod setup(free-we had tripod) and then had them switch out the Traveler($, needs a specialist from a local supplier). We ordered these from Amazon for the Traveler https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01C5K54YY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00T37LAZA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and we needed some switch from the local supplier. We tried to do this through the Dish 800 number and it was a disaster. Told us we couldn't do what we wanted to do. Went to the local supplier and in 15 minutes we had what we wanted and the tripod was installed the next day. We had to wait for the order from Amazon but once received everything was installed in days. The range of your ant. for local stations is a 200 mile radius. You need to call up and change your zip if out of that range. I understand it is very easy to do.
  11. Go to Alliant, they understand RVers and have a couple of people who specialize in RV Loans.
  12. We have used ventless for decades. We do not like the noise or inefficiency of RV furnaces. With that said we used Olympian for many years until we could no longer change the pad ourselves(govt I think). This was actually good, we found the Mr Heater MH18 with fan, inexpensive, 3 heat settings and fan can be on or off. We have always had our rigs piped for propane to a central location so we just hooked it up to that location. We have now used it for 5 years with no problems at all.
  13. This is so dependent on you personal usage I wouldn't trust anyone's guess. Just go and try a test run. When you run low it is time to come and you will have your answer.
  14. There are many single groups available with no hook ups. Escapees has Solos and possible others that would work. Also there are volunteer RV groups with churches and Habitat that build houses and churches in the US. These all welcome all people. I think Solos would be a good start. Also, consider volunteering at parks. Volunteer.gov is a central volunteer site and sometimes a volunteer job appears on this forum. There are also seasonal jobs. If you are healthy I believe Amazon hires for the Christmas season, starting in Aug/Sep. You need to find the opportunities so you have some social connection.
  15. We kept too much but we manged to get rid of a lot. It gave us a sense of peace and satisfaction when we reached that point. Almost like a renewal. The reason we kept so much we thought we were going to buy a S&B in a couple years and have changed our mind for now. Even if we bought an S&B we have too much.
  16. Why don't you just have your slides scanned in by Walmart(not sure if they do it). Whoever does it usually enhances the slides also.
  17. Regarding Covid. There are plenty of lists of Covid closed campgrounds. I am not sure how they all get their information from. I know one company that checks weekly with all the campgrounds that they have on their database. If you are full time, there is no rush and you are self-contained so you can always boon dock.
  18. Express scripts has noting to do with Tricare. Tricare has a contract with Express Scripts to provide prescriptions. Express Scripts probably has 1000 contracts with companies to supply prescriptions. Tricare is one of many.
  19. We find a major benefit of ES is the ability to do "vacation" refills. We are able to order refills weeks before their std refill date. We have found Walmart and others are not so accommodating.
  20. No reason to delay. We just have ES mail them to a small USPS along the way. About 6-8 weeks before we travel we request vacation refills so that if there is a delay it does not impact us. We once tried to use Walmart and had to wait in line for 45 minutes. I'll stick to mail order. On their website you can also pick up your RX at Walgreen or CVS(not sure which). I did not research that option.

  22. Happy we switched to Dish. I heard this from Dish but I assumed everyone would be grandfathered.
  23. First thing today I called Directv and found out we were on month to month. Yipee!! To wrap up this thread. We went to our local satellite supplier and it was very easy. Told her what we wanted, 240 Channels subscription, Hopper 3 and dish on the roof of our RV site. No problems, everything installed free, paid our first month and were done. Installed tomorrow. Discussed Traveller. She told us to order the kit from Winegard, less than if they supplied. One of their techs is certified to switch everything around, takes about 2 hours. Have to buy a 42 switch but that is it. Have no idea what that is, think it is to switch between Traveller and sat on roof. Not sure. Thank you all for being so patient with us in trying to figure this out.
  24. RA open or closed depend upon state. There are campgrounds open but I would call ahead, some states say cgs cannot accept overnights only 30 days or more.
