Follow-up to Volvo keyless entry Keyfob

In a previous post I was asking about finding the keyless entry keyfobs.

As mentioned earlier I found them on Ebay for around $100. I'm glad I didn't just buy one. 
My local dealer sells them for $45. But of course they want an arm and a leg to program them to your truck.

Well, hopefully Mark or someone will enter this info in the resource guide for any who want to program the remotes themselves.
I am told this works for "all" current 630,670,780 and 880 series trucks. What I do know is that these generic instructions worked for my 2005 780.
My remote is Volvo part number 21392420 and look like this:

These instructions are only good for ADDING additional remotes. You MUST have one original remote for this to work. 

Step 1
Sit in the drivers seat with the door closed. You need to be able to see the side marker light/turn signal mounted on the side of the cab. (a second person would be handy or do like I did and lean way out).

Step 2
Cycle the key from OFF to ON 5 times, stopping in the ON position. The side marker light should stay on. 

Step 3
Press the lock button on your existing remote (one already programmed for your truck). The side marker light should blink, indicating you are in program mode. 
Press the lock button for the remote you wish to program to your truck. The side marker light should blink, indicating that remote was programmed.
Repeat the process for each new remote.

Step 4
Turn off the key and remove it from the ignition. Open and close your door. Test the new remotes.

Sorry it has taken me so long to get back with the contact for adding keyless entry and door lock. The business has a new owner, but I believe he is one of the techs employed by the previous owner. The telephone number for them in Cedar Rapids Iowa is 319-247-2277. This is not an advertisement for them, just sharing information. I have not and will not receive anything other than thanks for providing.

Well, I guess we owe you a 6 pak of DP for that work.  I'm sure we'll pay up if you ever make it to another Rally.   ECR was great!

As I mentioned it depends on the system you have. Is it mechanical or electrical? You never answered. If it is mechanical it is more as we have to install physical actuators in each door.

If mechanical cost is $858.00 plus tax

If electrical cost is $438.00 plus tax

Quickest way to determine which type, if you're sitting inside the cab is there a button you can press to lock both doors? in other words, does it have power door locks? If no, then it is mechanical and we have to supply and install physical lock/unlock motors for each door.
