  1. Oh yeah, look on youtube for Dr Sherri Tenpenny purported to hold a doctorate in something. She believes the vaccine causes magnetism in the body. ????????? I saw her on a news segment a short time ago.
  2. Kirk, I tried to send you a PM and either you got 2 copies or nothing. Don't know what went wrong.
  3. I found out how to do this, too, but don't remember how I did it. I changed it to the zip code I am currently located in. Right now it says 90 degrees but my outside reading thermometer reads 104 degrees. This zip code has many different elevations so it can vary greatly in just a mile or two. The 104 is reading in directs sun at this time.
  4. But it should be. This guy may have been a little beyond stupid at least in some ways. And of course he would have been obstructing any one else during the time he was stuck there.
  5. Dutch you have stated what makes sense and I would say justifies sharing. In my experience in the dark ages it was common to share with the behind the scenes staff for the reasons you stated. Just not so much between actual wait staff directly.
  6. A practice that is unfair in reality and actually theft in another. Stealing from the one that may have done the better job. I understand why this is done but do question how it is even legal. To be fair and observant of another view the higher tip can result from luck as to who you were lucky enough to wait on. Rite? no right. (I just wanted to fit in)
  7. I sure don't know but my educated guess is it is way obsolete much like some of my stuff.
  8. I just contacted a son in law about this as I know they have an alexa but no ring cam. He had not heard of this and found it while I was talking about it and immediately turned it off. Also I heard it discussed on a radio program this afternoon and the big beef is the way this was done automatically with no notice and you had to opt out vs opt in.
  9. In the interest of clarity I assume you can opt out after they start it if you don't know about it by the "start" date. I don't have it but did not get around to letting a couple of relatives know about this if they don't already.
  10. isn't that photo called an Avatar?
  11. might want to reread it maybe after more coffee. I don't read it as being offended. Sometimes misreading is called doing a Jim at my house.
  12. I saw this years and years ago as volunteer to certain campgrounds. We would sometimes have long lines waiting down the road outside the gate for the cut-off time to claim your site the next day. As has been said at that time they only forfeited one night's fee. To many people that is an insignificant cost to guarantee a spot for the more popular times like holidays and weekends. It didn't happen much in the winter. Why should they care who they put out as long as they get what they want. Nice to be important. Some would call in at least on the day they were to arrive to give us a heads up so someone else could get a site. I don't remember for sure but I believe if we were able to rent their site by closing they could even avoid forfeiting the one nights fee. One reason we could not rent a site by closing is they could even come in after hours so we had to hold a site for them in case they showed up.
  13. Thanks guys, you are getting me there. Turns out the mobley itself (female side) is numbered when you shine a light into it and the trifocals are working well. Of course its numbered right to left like petes picture to match the power plug which would be numbered left to right like Dan's.
  14. Is yours numbered as pictured? Mine isn't. The one I am hoping to repair is AC (125v) Switching Adapter stepping it down to 12v 1amp. There is a break at or in the head of the plug. One wire is still fine but the other broke somewhere at the head as I said. I have a back up that plugs to USB but in some cases the broken one worked better. Thanks for you replies.
  15. That's what you get for saving spaces.😀 I expect to see you soon at the furthest parking spot at the mall where I like to park to prevent getting door dings.
  16. Anyone with a Mobley remember what the wiring is to which pins on the power adapter for AC current with the step down adapter. They should be the same as the ones that powers off the computer right? If you are real good can you post a diagram or picture looking at the pin holes with the right ones pointed out. Thanks if you can help.
  17. I am very understanding of your frustration and don't disagree about what should happen but given manpower and budget constraints along with covid restrictions I find the real world on the ground situation is just not that way and is unlikely do-able. I have volunteered on the a national forest every summer since 1997 and one at at a national park and one at a COE park. Most places would barely function if it were not for volunteers like friends groups. Even there you can only recruit what is available at a given time and their skill levels can vary greatly. I am way more useful now than when I started as I know the in and out of the district way better. Friday we had a lady upset because we did not mobilize everyone to find her lost dog. (and we are sympathetic-me for the dog-hope nothing eats it.) Our point of sale computer would not function properly and took an hour to sell one annual pass. In the mean time if we go one way some group will want to sue us and if we go their way some other group will want to sue us. Some times I am surprised we are able to make anyone happy but amazingly we do a pretty good job of it. I do believe in public safety first but there are limits on what you can do for that. I applaud you for recognizing and admitting to your errors. You learn from yours and maybe a few others will learn the easy way based on your experience but I sure won't hold my breath expecting it to be many. Truly thanks for sharing.
  18. some places have a minimum fee as labor cost is essentially the same to fill a 20, 30, or 40lb bottle. I think Kirk said his tank was not empty which might account for the lower price. One place i dealt with would charge the cheaper rate based on amount if you filled say two bottles that came up to the minimum for the lower price.
  19. You may find this hard to believe but depending on how trails are marked some people think it is funny to move trail markers. I have seen it more than once. You need to know where you are going and how you are going to get back even without signs. On critical trails it is even more important.
  20. One DD (dear daughters) and 2 friends are going to be in Las Vegas for about 5 days next week starting on the 5th of May. They are thinking of taking the bus tour to the Skywalk at the Grand Canyon. It is supposed to be about 2 1/2 hours each way with. I have never been there. Any thoughts I can impart about this to make myself look wise. They are not planning on renting a car just doing tours. I know another day one stop is Hoover Dam.
  21. What he said and Kirk!!!!!!! When I was a civilian working for the Army we were given and older Dodge 3/4 ton with a 225 slant six. I never checked the axle ratio but it must have been good as the truck would tow around northeast Tx with pretty good loads or trailer towing. It wasn't very fast and didn't have much above the speed limit but it would tow. Still wouldn't have wanted it in the mountains.
  22. As far as I am concerned if you have never seen it even an hour or maybe even 15 minutes would be worth it to me. The big issue as you mentioned is find parking for your rig within walking distance. I know in normal times there are even shuttle buses to see parts. Ideally the first time should be at the south rim. You might want to call and ask advice about parking for your rig. Who knows they might even let you boondock in some parking area. You will want to ask about your dog. I don't recall if you can take your dog on a leash to some areas or leave your dog in your rig. Once many years ago I went out of my way to see it for just a couple of hours. I was not camping but traveling in my car. The weather was misty and cool. I forget the name of the trail but it is in the developed area at the top and I believe my have been a sidewalk. Whey I got up to it the clouds were so thick you could not see even one foot down. It was spectacular. Like a giant bowl of snow cream overflowing. I need to at least stretch my legs for the the next leg of my trip so I walked that easy trail I think a mile or less out then back. By the time I got back to the starting point I could see all the way to the bottom albeit still cloudy. i would not take for that experience and view even if I had not been able to see into the canyon. That is my experience one time and maybe it will help you judge if it would be worth it for you. The last time I saw the canyon I took the day train trip out of Williams, AZ. I believe the time at the rim was about 3-4 hours before the train went back.
  23. Keep in mind she also said title not registration. With proper paper work you can get a temporary tag yourself or in some cases a "one trip" tag to move a vehicle. You may not need a cleared title but would need something they will accept which could be as little as a bill of sale.
