  1. I wasn't referring to the notary seeing 2 forms of identification, but filling in item 8 which specifies what the 2 forms of identification are. If you do this at an escapees event, then escapees is the agent and they fill it in and it doesn't need to be notarized. It appears when the agent is not present and a notary public is used, then they fill in item 8 as well as sign as notary that they have witnessed the applicant sign the form and viewed 2 forms of id.
  2. For escapees mail forwarding they recommend driver's license and escapees membership card.
  3. That's true, but I believe it also applies to item 8 8.Two types of identification are required. One must contain a photograph of the addressee(s). Social Security cards, credit cards, and birth certificates are unacceptable as identification. The agent must write in identifying information. Subject to verification. The way I read it is if you are filing by mail, the notary pubic needs to fill in the 2 types of identification as the agent is not available. It probably doesn't make any difference, but the instructions aren't clear.
  4. I just found this The applicant must execute this form in duplicate in the presence of the agent, his or her authorized employee, or a notary public.
  5. I believe Sling was also one that required a fixed ip address. This was all a couple of years ago so it may have changed.
  6. Thanks. I've got everything filled in but that and want to get it notarized and in the mail first thing tomorrow.
  7. Escapees is closed for the day and I thought someone might have set up mail forwarding and remembers this. This is about postal form 1583 that I fill out, get notarized, and send to escapees. Item 8 is for the 2 forms of required dentification. In the instruction below, who is the agent? I'm thinking it must be me!
  8. One problem I ran into is many of the streaming services required you have a home IP address. If you are full-timing that's a problem. The one I ended up with that doesn't require a home address is att tv or whatever it is called now. About $70/month for basic tv (entertainment). I have an unlimited verizon data plan that costs about $60/month. I use it at home for both data and tv and do the same on the road.
  9. Thanks. I will check on it. I get almost all my mail online, just for this reason.
  10. Maybe that's what I will do. I thought for 3 months I would just leave everything as it was, but worried if I was in an accident that I might have a problem - license, registration, insurance. I just left a note through escapees site for a free consult with a law firm that specialized in domicile. I will also check and see if I can find a mailbox company that might work out.
  11. Until I have an accident and don't have a valid license, registration, or insurance. I'm thinking the odds are at least 90% I will end up in Louisiana, so maybe I just need to find a way to establish residency there. I also have a business I need to register.
  12. I'm putting my house up for sale within the next 2 days. I expect it to sell fairly quickly. I am currently in Virginia. I think I will spend the summer camping at Cape Hatteras, but I'm flexible and plans could change. This fall, I plan on looking for a house near the gulf in Alabama or Mississippi, or more likely in Louisiana (lived there many years ago). I'm waiting until fall so it will be comfortable staying in my trailer until I find a new home. This will also probably be my last trip! I don't know the simplest and cheapest way to handle residency, as I'm not sure where I will end up. Does it make sense to establish residency in Texas for just a few months? This shouldn't be a difficult problem, but I'm not seeing a simple solution. I hate to pay tax on my vehicle and trailer multiple times. I want any solution to be totally on me, not on friends or family.
