  1. It is a USDOT rule. The delivery truck must not have their doors to access the tanks locked.
  2. What is the difference between that and a hostel? Looks the same to me.
  3. Your update on the other forum says you found the cord reel is defective, bought a new one yet?
  4. It is illegal to lock access to LP shut-off valves.
  5. Sadly here is the latest update, I ran HP diagnostics ( push F2 during start up from shut off), the results are my "hard drive is failing, make a backup of your data ASAP". Today my desktop starts up then freezes. IMO that is the reason the IDT audio driver was lost in the beginning. I do have a HD backup from last week, so that's covered. Any suggestions for a quality brand 1TB HD? Will I be able to install W10 again with a new HD, since the key will be gone with the old HD? This is out of my comfort zone. Hope this laptop stays running until the desktop is repaired. Addition; I just removed the HD from my desktop to discover the HD is a Seagate Barracuda 1000GB, DOM 12/2012. I was under the impression Seagate did not have the best products??? What about Western Digital?
  6. I was wondering out loud because of the statements from MH weigh experts that say if you are using a platform scale, and weighing one front or rear wheel, to keep both sides level to obtain an accurate weigh for the wheel on the scale.
  7. I wonder how much the front axle(tires too) was overloaded, towing that MH by lifting the rear?
  8. As Lou said, it can't hurt to ask about a retroactive deal. The worse that can happen is they say no.
  9. I replied to your post on FMCA forums. Barbaraok, he has the same problems at multiple CG's. The melted 50A plug is a clue to further issues.
  10. I started to use the free version, however their webpage said it would take approx, 1 hr to complete each driver update(IMO they really throttle the free download), and I"m rather inept on the technical stuff anyway, and couldn't locate the first download in my downloads folder; so I grabbed my plastic and did the deed.
  11. I thought about what you said about using Hydrogen Peroxide to remove foul odors from the water heater so began looking and found this which confirms your water heater odor elimination: https://www.cleanwaterstore.com/resource/how-to-guides/how-to-eliminate-water-heater-odors/
  12. Issue solved! I was reading the Windows forums and found a reply from Microsoft that said to download drivereasy.com and then either use the free version or pay to join and everything is automatic. I chose automatic, and with a discount code paid $27 and change to support up to 3 computers for 1 yr. This website scanned all drivers on my computer, downloaded and installed the latest drivers, 6 for my desktop, then later 12 for my laptop. The sound on my desktop is back, and IMO improved from the OEM HP driver. Right now I'm listening to iheart radio through my speakers. Thanks to everyone for your advice and assistance!
  13. To further muddy this issue, this proposal was conceived while retired General Jim Mattis was Secretary of Defense: https://www.military.com/daily-news/2019/07/06/no-grunts-under-26-250k-bonuses-dods-most-radical-ideas-transform-infantry.html?ESRC=eb_190708.nl
  14. Since starting this thread I have looked at the subject closer. The article says up to $40,000, now take into consideration the 2019 military pay scale and you see this is actually not a windfall. Say a young man enlists under this program, at the end of 6 years his monthly pay is $3,001.14 IF he makes E-5, plus the total amount of enlistment pay he is granted. This is-in effect the amount of money he will receive for swearing an oath to give his life in defense of the U.S.A. " I am a veteran, my oath of enlistment has no expiration date"
  15. Hi Kirk, I have found this link useful for repairing fiberglass. Although the website is for aircraft fiberglass repair, some might work for boats and RV's too. On our first 5er, I repaired a small de-laminated spot as you described, instead of props, I pulled the 5er up next to a tree, then used an old semi-trailer load lock to apply pressure to the exterior wall of the 5er.
  16. Scroll down approx. half way to read what the CDC says about H2O2 for sanitizing. That's why I think its use is impractical for RVers.
  17. I apologize, I must be thinking of a different person.
  18. I think on the other RVing forum you pretty- well were convinced to have the batteries load tested by Interstate or another battery retailer.
  19. They do not blow their own horn, however; Just so you know, one of them has a chemistry degree, and a degree in water treatment. I used to hold a Cl A wastewater treatment license in my state, and nothing in the material I studied mentioned not to use chlorine to sanitize plastics, to the contrary it is the most commonly-used chemical, depending on the type and resistance of germs and growth, contact time is all important given the same solution strength. As to Hydrogen Peroxide for sanitizing, the quantity and percentage strength required makes it impractical for private citizens to use as such. The WHO does not even mention using Hydrogen Peroxide for sanitizing drinking water. As a side note, I use Sodium Dichlor for sanitizing plumbing and disinfecting drinking water. Most do not because of the precautions involved.
  20. Welcome! There are many insurance companies that specificly cover RV's. The only advice I can offer is to shop around/compare companies coverage and premiums. Also, keep in mind you owe no allegiance to any company, if you find the same coverage for less money, and it makes sense to you change companies. I have found, at least for me, dealing with an independent agent gets me the lowest premium for the same coverage. Extended service plans vary widely, we bought one through Good Sam when we bought our MH because it had been in storage for 8 years without any attention. The plan more than paid for the premiums + deductibles during the 3 yr contract. Remember, it is a contract, and as such you should read the fine print and be prepared to follow the requirements exactly to obtain the best results. Also, an exclusionary contract is best because it states what is NOT covered, by omission everything else is covered. An inclusionary contract states what IS covered, leaving what is not covered up to the company. Many people choose to self-insure, which is fine if you have the reserve finances, we did not to go that route. I feel for the guy on an different rving forum that had a $30,000 diesel engine repair-Cummins only paid $10,000 of that; it happened again the following year only Cummins did not pay anything.
  21. update: Going back to RV/Derek's question about whether my computer has a sound card or one integrated, it is an integrated IDT92HD73E audio device, which I interpret to mean it is built-into the chipset. Today I ran HP diagnostics audio tests, they both said the same as the W10 diagnostics "no audio output device found". According to HP diagnostics, when I install an audio card it disables the built-in audio device. Now, may I simply go buy an audio card and install it in my computer and fix the sound for both computer sounds and music playback through Altec Lansing speakers?
  22. And all I got when I was drafted was a free haircut 😒: https://www.military.com/daily-news/2019/07/03/army-now-offering-recruits-40000-join-infantry.html?ESRC=eb_190704.nl
  23. The only meter richfaa can be referring to would be a TDS meter, which we know cannot measure water quality. If anyone uses a TDS meter, a reading above 500 is suspect though.
