  1. Perhaps the coax between the antenna and booster is broken? Have you tested it for continuity?
  2. I ran Sailun S637 16" load range G tires on our 5er for several years without a problem, In fact, when a U-bolt broke, allowing one axle to slide rearward on one side, the result was, it wore two of those Sailun tires down to the steel belts. I had the axle repaired, new parts flown-in from Seattle, and continued my Alaska trip. I had those tire replaced 6,000 miles later, when we returned home. That persuaded me to install Sailun 22.5 tire on our MH 4 years later. BTW, a tire dealer that sells Cooper tires usually sells Sailun tires too.
  3. This is an exerpt from a law firms website: " If your motorhome, 5th wheel, or another motor vehicle is covered under a lemon law, you must allow the manufacturer a reasonable opportunity to correct the problem. This repair opportunity involves three or four repair attempts in many states, but the number of attempts can be as few as one or two where serious safety issue constitute the problem. Further, the vehicle also might be subject to a lemon law claim if the vehicle is out of service for repair for a sufficient period, which often is thirty days but can be as few as fifteen in some states."
  4. Don't forget state laws can supersede federal laws in some instances, when state law is stricter than federal law.
  5. John T, insert your model # here: http://www.generac.com/service-support/product-support-lookup/?categoryId=74a70672-eb12-44ad-a9bf-455dcd845da9 to see if Generac has a service manual for your unit.
  6. Do not use petroleum-based, silicone-based, or paint-type products. Personally I use water N soap, which is the only products recommended by tire mfgrs.
  7. That's what I do too. Saves time and effort with a simple, short phone call. I have been refused due to lack of parking space, city ordnance, once for each. Usually I was told where to park for safety.
  8. We made this transition in 2013, from a 40' 5er to a 40' MH. We bought the MH, brought it home to move "stuff" from the 5er to the MH, but wound up just piling everything from the 5er in the garage floor. After we loaded everything into the MH we had empty cabinets inside, and a couple of empty bays underneath; although the 5er was fully-loaded. Conclusion: MH has more storage space than that 40' 5er. We are both older now, and the ease of leveling and setup of the MH is much quicker and easier. That is not my opinion, it is fact, as timed by my wife. Now if the 5er would have had automatic leveling, they would have required virtually the same amount of time and energy. With time and experience, a MH owner/driver learns to avoid driving into places blindly. I only re-fuel at truck stops for this reason. One time I pulled into a small station for lower cost fuel, I had to unhook the car, back it out, park it, back out MH, turn it around, find a place to re-attach the car, then continue trip. That one incident cost me over an hour extra time, besides the cheaper fuel being 4-5 miles off my route, in a MH that gets 7 MPG. I learned if I can't afford truck stop fuel prices, I can't afford to own a MH.
  9. Yep, anyone can sue anyone. That MacDonalds case was reversed on appeal. In many of these cases, the party with the deepest pockets wins. The suit bobSally linked to will be overturned IMO. The owners refused Winnebago's request to bring their MH to the W factory for evaluation and repairs.
  10. The maximum 5th wheel length is 53', there is no distinction between a commercial 5th wheel trailer and a recreational 5th wheel trailer. This website is 3 years old, the towing information is at the most 3 years old: https://www.rvtripwizard.com/rv-info/state-road-laws.php It also says trailer length 28'6", which I suspect is a mis-print from AZ on both websites. It states above that, maximum overall length is 65', to me this means their intent is commercial vehicles since 28' 6" subtracted from 65' = 36' 6" for truck length.
  11. Is that steel frame exposed, as I said????? If not, how do you propose to run a chain/cable through it???
  12. Cable cutters are the tool to cut cable, he said bolt cutters.
  13. I agree with 2gypsies. I have heard of I 40 in Flagstaff being closed due to snow in these winter months months Dec,Jan,Feb, Mar.Apr. If you choose to use I 40, this website may be of great help: http://oss.weathershare.org/ It even has live weather/road cameras denoted on the maps. Personally I would not take the risk with small children along.
  14. He said "bolt cutters'' those are cable cutters, two entirely different tools.
  15. Does the owners manual contain a hint?
  16. Neither does Indiana, as any trailer being towed is covered by the tow vehicle's liability insurance policy. Of course when disconnected it is not covered by insurance. The only issue IMO, is with Canadian laws.
  17. Have you ever tried to cut a cable with bolt cutters? I used to use 1/8" cable to secure my Boliy genset in my truckbed. A determined thief may hang around long enough to eventually cut a cable, but the vast majority of thieves will quickly recognize cutting a cable takes time, something thieves lack, if they want to avoid detection. BTW, it is much easier and faster to simply cut the plastic case/handles instead of taking the time to cut a cable, chain,or padlock. The only portable gensets with an exposed steel framework are construction gensets, not may thieves value those enough to steal. Also, 3/8" chain IS logging chain, this is well-known if you work in the logging industry or are a farmer.
  18. watch this video: Then read this: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-power-winpc/windows-10-turns-on-by-itself/b40756b8-8e0a-4426-b18e-23dc0a2e06a0 This should answer you question, and tell you how best to resolve the issue.
  19. I agree. docj, I've already heard a few references to AT&T satellite services since they bought DirectTV.
  20. The extended cab/double cab also reduces payload and tow rating. If you goal is maximum payload and tow rating, only a standard cab will meet the goal.
  21. I just noticed; why am I replying to a thread created in 2016?????????????? Old age is inconvenient.
  22. A 1/2" G5 bolt has a shear strength of 105,,000-120,000 psi; a 1/2" 316 SST shear pin has a shear strength of 43,275 psi I spent enough years in a tool and die shop to not make the comparison. Most shear pins are hollow.
  23. I want the easiest to replace and cheapest part to fail first. Installing a grade 5 bolt in place of the shear pin may wind up costing much more than a few shear pins.
  24. I ignore this stuff, there is absolutely nothing I can personally do sway the economy. If I have no effect on it, why waste my time and risk my health worrying?
  25. Plus, a memory foam mattress can accumulate moisture on the bottom side in certain situations, which may cause mold.
