RickS
We got back from the ECR and this was waiting for us to pick up. What a fun new car to drive. The new dual clutch transmission is really nice and shifts very quickly and smoothly. Handles and turns incredibly short....even compared to our 2006 CDI. The power is surprising in the mid range where the turbo is providing the torque. ktlobb11
Rick Very nice, we picked up a 2016 Prime in Jacksonville on the way home from the ECR. I notice you have the center arm rest, I'll assume you ordered it that way, do you know if you can add it after the fact? GeorgiaHybrid
Our new smart didn't have a center rest either and I bought one of these to add to it.: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Center-armrest-Seat-Mii-Leather-Storage-compartment-fold-up-height-adjustable-/162349032830?hash=item25ccc1a57e:g:~VwAAOSwvzRX0qIp It took about an hour to install as you need to partially pull the seat cover off to bolt the bracket in place. It actually felt better than the factory unit and has a small storage pocket as well. 2023 Thor Magnitude XG32
GlennWest
I really like ours but a rolling start and gun it, you will want to stick your foot out and help it. Downside of a turbo. My 2013 didn't do that. I do love the new transmission. 2003 Teton Grand Freedom towed with 2006 Freightliner Century 120 across the beautiful USA welding pipe.https://photos.app.goo.gl/O32ZjgzSzgK7LAyt1
RickS
My armrest was ordered with the car but I did see one that was very interesting and looks very easy to install. Would have to import it but that may make up for the labour involved in the stock one. There are a few others similar to that one and they are a LOT easier to install than the one we chose. Either way, there are arm rests that can be bought aftermarket and added to any smart. 2023 Thor Magnitude XG32
ewacowboy
Nice looking car! We took one for a test drive yesterday and were pleasantly surprised....I actually fit in one. Anyone know if there is a way to search inventory nationally for a Brabus model? HERO Maker
Rick, that looks great and will most certainly match the rest of the rig. I noticed that phone holder! Where did you find that? RickS
The mount is a Ram mount that I've had for years. It clamps to flat or round surfaces. Here is link to many mount options. I also use Ram mounts for gps on my bikes. Not the least expensive option but have never lost anything of the bikes either. We have a tablet mount that clamps to the passenger side grab handle also. RickS
Well, loaded the new car for the first time today. I sure see a lot more car in the mirrors than with the old one up there. rdickinson
I noticed that with mine as well. Mine is loaded the other way. I also moved the tiedown points to outside the wheels and added a couple of inches to the tire cage to get them to sit down further over the tires. Nigel And 5" narrower, that's why the tiedowns are under the car. Gen 3 tires are 24" diameter, 1's were 22". That's why tire cage sits so high on the tire. I've gone thru all that. RickS
2006 450 spec Length: 2,500 mm (98.5 in.) Width: 1,514 mm (59.6 in.) Height: 1,549 mm (61 in) 2017 453 spec Length 2,695 mm (106.1 in) Width 1,663 mm (65.5 in) Height 1,555 mm (61.2 in) Weight 880 kg (1,940 lb) It is 7.6" longer and I have most of that hanging over the passenger side and it does block the side view of the trailer through the mirror. The higher hood line of the new car adds to the blocked view.
