  1. I'm at Mesa Verde. Plenty of room in dry camp, but FH are booked up solid the entire season. Cloudy, cool and a smattering of rain today. They have wifi internet but it's spotty at best. My CCrane antenna takes care of that problem. Best $300 I've ever spent.
  2. Sportchassis tells me they can do it in a half-hour. Of course, everyone around here says 2-3 hours. Sigh. Just not sure it's a job I want to tackle. Thanks. Of course I don't expect these leaks to stay small and will likely blow on me at the worst possible time. Found a mobile mech who says he'll show up tomorrow. I'll be amazed if he does. With the bags. Good help is hard to find around here. Yeah, it'll cost me, but I have more money than desire or mechanical ability. Edit: Nobody here yet. No calls, nothing. Why am I being lied to all the time?
  3. Found a couple pinhole leaks in one of my cab bags. Does anyone have any quick/temporary fixes, like tape or glue or bicycle tube repair? Not sure this is a DIY job, and having difficulty with shops in this area.
  4. Good point. Unfortunately, the modern version is 'may or may not', which is redundant because 'may' already means that.
  5. I won't sugarcoat this for you, you will need a steady, sufficient source of income to pull it off without looking like Nomadland. Things break, things need maintenance and attention, health problems happen, fuel isn't cheap, tires aren't cheap, shop repairs aren't cheap. You're only nuts if you don't plan this carefully. Being old is one thing, being old and broke is not going to be a good time. Anyway.. good luck!
  6. Probably didn't read the Guideline refresher.
  7. I have no idea why your a/c didn't come on, but I hope the cats are ok. I overheated my little girl once and it wasn't pretty! So now I have enough battery to run my air with an inverter. 83° is about her limit.
  8. Your voltage display, if accurate, should be fine. I used voltage for years with no problems.
  9. Propane is already there and real easy. 12v socket will not work. I don't think the refer heaters have any startup surge.
  10. I've had to do that with a credit card at a truck stop.
  11. Just saw it. Liked it a lot, and Frances McDormand was great. Darn glad I don't have to work, and darn glad I don't have to live like that.
  12. That sounds more like a debit card. But yeah, crazy.
  13. I use disposable gloves every time I pump diesel. You should see how dirty they get! I don't want that on my steering wheel.
  14. My next tactic will be to see if I can use the local UPS hub as my deivery address. It's a lot closer to my house than the post office. Maybe that will force Amazon to use UPS. When I picked up the package the guy said they didn't deliver it because it's "too heavy." Right. I get a different story from everyone. This, apparently, is meaningless....
  15. So far today, no change, no response from the post office. We'll see if this actually worked. I don't know where this postal employee was that we talked to.
  16. Looks like you were right. After venting some frustrations at the phone clerk, she got on the horn to MY local post office (like I thought that would do any good) and lo and behold got a usps carrier on the phone and arranged to have them deliver my latest, big, heavy package to my house after it had, as usual, gone back to the post office because it wouldn't fit in the package box at my mail stand. I was completely shocked - I had no idea you could do that since there is no household delivery in my area. Amazon also pointed out that, although I can't specify which carrier, I can add delivery instructions at order time like "leave at my back porch please." I'll try this next time and hope she's right. I don't want to have to make phone calls every time Amazon sticks the post office with a big package. I was really hoping to get A to stop farming out big stuff to the post office, but, we'll see if this works instead. Thanks! EDIT: Nice try amazon, but this is not working.
  17. Every 3,000 miles on a Cummins 8.3L diesel at 50 quarts would get a bit expensive.
  18. I'm sure if the public can accept carrying around a tub full of gasoline it can accept a battery.
  19. I can only recall getting one. Not that I need it.
