  1. I'm in the Lake Mead area trying to use this service, and not having any success. I've been in contact with tech support for 2 days with no luck. Last spring it worked great. The camp hosts are worthless. Anyone else in the area trying/using it?
  2. I see.. yeah, that makes sense...and we all suffer for it. But you just end up swiping more than once, or you go inside and tell the attendant you need a $150 worth.
  3. I've never understood pump limits. If you have to use a legitimate CC to operate them, isn't the fuel paid for? Gas was $5 and over years ago. Didn't bother me then, nor now. I'm too old to worry about fuel prices.

  6. The only leaks I've felt comfortable fixing are the push-pin drain valves on the 2 tanks, and those are hard enough to remove. I'm not doing air bags, nor messing with that multi-connection junction box near the rear axle. Nope, it's $hop time, and that's a whole other problem.. finding a reliable shop that knows what it's doing and doesn't take 3 weeks to do it. The one leaking that really drives me nuts is the rear bags. If I want to camp and remain hitched up, I don't want to have a sag of 3" or more by morning.
  7. I've been fighting air leaks for 8 years on this thing. Maybe someday I'll get them stopped.. for a few weeks. Perhaps I need to learn to live with them.
  8. Got to the Q and things started leaking again. Mainly the rear bags. ARRGGGHHH! Was all set to have the Love's repair shop replace rear bags, but upon further inspection I heard the drain valve on the rear tank hissing. Pushed the pin a few times, got it to leak less, but not completely stopped. Ordered a reman valve which should be here next week.
  9. I don't know what those carcasses are I see on the shoulder of the freeway, but I wouldn't be doing that.
  10. I don't know what additional components you're talking about, or wiring, but my compelling reason was with heat buildup running hundreds of amps. My acid batteries were also getting hot. Anyway, they're long gone for Lithium. Wire carries voltage much easier than amperage, so in my case, it is not only a safety reason but a personal preference. My solar runs at 80-110v. My one 30a Victron buck converter handles jacks and slides just fine.
  11. It requires one component: a DC-DC buck converter. You run something like A/C on a 12v inverter and in about 20 minutes connectors and wires are going to get hot.
  12. I'd also suggest going to a 48v system if you, and I presume you do, have a large inverter. Sure makes for easier wiring, not having to deal with that 4/0 monster cable. And it's beautiful at the Q right now! Not real busy either.
  13. That's incredible.. but, I couldn't load your pictures and I didn't catch how many watts of solar you have. My 835w would be near zero output in those conditions.
  14. I called this business recently as I planned on being in Las Vegas. The man on the phone seemed bewildered that I even had his phone number. He asked where I got it, I told him on here. He didn't seem to understand what Escapees was or even know he's being advertised here. Then we discussed some work I wanted done on my Freightliner M2-106 (Mdt) which he didn't seem to be familiar with. He again asked me where I got the phone number. I told him, but again it just didn't seem to register with him that I was an RVer and not a long haul trucker. I guess that's what he expected.. I really don't know. He accused me of making a joke phone call, so I hung up immediately. I am not making this up.
  15. These days it may be almost a given that nearly any new phone will allow wireless charging. I quit using it when my phone went dark and got so locked up it took me nearly a half-hour to get it to boot up. I suspected wireless charging, and so far I'm right. I can't comment much on your problem but I do know those connectors can be fragile. I was considering Visible for a new carrier as my data needs are growing, but after this story I think I better be careful.

  17. My big winner was Tilray. It peaked out at over $200 a couple years ago in a mad buying frenzy, stock was halted a couple times and I got out somewhere around $150. Round one. Then I bought more when it hit around $15, a lot more, then timed it out and sold at somewhere around $45. Now it's in the tank again. It takes me quite a while to get a feel for how a stock behaves to be able to time it. That's not a recommended strategy, but, like the slot machines, sometimes you get lucky. All this profit probably just makes up for the losses I took in the dot com bubble of 2001. Stuff like global crossing, a Canadian lawyer firm, and some music stocks really killed me. It was a time when people thought all they had to do was buy anything and retire rich. Yeah, not quite. If I'd only seen where Amazon and Priceline were going. Sigh. The only real regret I have is selling my house in 2002. Not the best timing there.
  18. Wow.. another great day for us. You got in at a lot cheaper than I did, but, hey, I'm not complaining. Where I really did well was pot stocks. They've crashed, for now, but my timing was pretty good ... for a change. Not looking forward to the tax bill. And it's Hemstead, no 'p'
  19. I'm not in hookup parks much, but even if I am I always run the tank and pump. Never a worry about pressure, or hose leaks drenching the campsite and nobody seems to care.
  20. I've done well with my TSLA in the last couple weeks. Looking good today.
