I enjoyed a number of great campfire conversations with many people from all walks of life at this year’s RTR. Shared some food, had a sociable drink or two, explained a bit of (low) tech I use to a couple people, made some friends to see again down the road. Can’t say I saw anyone get out of hand - drunk, stoned, running their mouth, or otherwise. When folks don’t care what your rig is or isn’t, your politics is or isn’t, your “group demographic” is or isn’t campin’ in the desert is a good time.

Lying in the slop putting on tire chains is half the fun.

rick I drove a Freightliner COE that had both ... when the air function had to rest you reached around and gave er a few swipes by hand... Did I mention one Monday the boss of that small outfit retired that one when he bought a repo 30,000 mi Freightliner conventional. Asked me into the office to let me know a more senior driver wanted the next to new truck. I had to “take” a KW W900 Seattle Interior complete with a heater, air cond, tuned up 400 Cummins, and ear plugs not required...

Roadtrek1: my 160” wb little phart Kenworth has a 18,000lb payload, is shorter from front bumper to steer axle than a pickup, and the turn radius is inside a 168” wb Dodge or Ford pickup and more inside a GM... It fit’s in a mall parking space. Its funny when careless sunsabitches open their doors and smash them into the steel skirts of the tow body or the hefty fuel tank steps... It’s the big, tall, clumsy trailer that limits where I can get under the branches to park.

Keep in mind everyone that air “bags” are springs and want dampening (“shock absorbers”) in order to not function like undamped springs (pogo stick). Back to the experts....

Great news Dave if you aren’t healed fully gimme a holler I’ll wheel your rig to sunshine and warm for you. I’ll need a spot for my Triumph so I can ride back to your home base to get my rig. You n Donna n Newt will hafta work out who rides swamper seat and who rides in the bunk 🤣...

Also pay attention to the correct refill / purge procedures for your system. Many cooling systems are not fill and slap the rad cap on anymore 🙂.

My cargo/enclosed/bike garage trailer has a owie on the fibreglass roof cap at the front where it tried to move a hunnert year old elm tree... Annyways the black gorilla tape on the wound has been there for 7 years....it’s getting a bit gray looking but I have fresh black gorilla on hand...
