  1. Looks like Smith's and Visa kissed and made up! https://www.ktnv.com/news/smiths-grocery-store-will-accept-visa-credit-cards-once-again
  2. Another problem RV. https://www.wmbfnews.com/2019/10/24/customers-say-rv-purchase-turned-into-nightmare/
  3. This wouldn't cause problems a couple of weeks ago, ms60ob, but we got an email from the mail service that they were having a phone problem. I believe we got the email Thursday or yesterday. We have never had a problem in 16 years.
  4. Don't have one but it reminds me of a bra on the front of a motorhome. Dirt, dust gets behind it and acts as sandpaper and an abrasive.
  5. Frys in Yuma, AZ. is informing customers that sometime next week they will be charging for cash back. Don't know if it is the entire Kroger system or just Frys.
  6. We haven't been to Daytona Speedweeks for a number of years. But they were quite popular in the Daytona area during Speedweeks. Most of them at that time were plated in New York state and I notice you list Rochester. Sort of ironic.
  7. After an ongoing situation between a few property owners, Arizona State Trust Land, and the Yuma County Sheriffs Office, the state trust land that parallels County 15E at the east end of the foothills has been declared off limits to RV camping. Folks who want to quad ride, walk their dogs, hike, must get a permit. I attended the monthly meeting with our area county supervisor on 10-5. The restrictions were to start 10-7. Several Escapees outfits use this area during the winter for get-togethers. I won't get into the rules etc. as it would be best to go the trust land website for the latest and greatest. We just don't want to see anybody fined! This Trust Land deal also includes Trust Land in the Havasu area also.
  8. Anybody on here ever tried or is using ORBYTV.com My neighbor just got it, don't know how it is going, I have never heard of it, just curious. https://orbytv.com/
  9. Vern, you won't have a problem. Big Hole Pass won't be a problem either. You will come out at I-15 with a nice RV park, Country Side RV Park on your right. On the road that takes off and goes north thru Polaris has a real nice Forest Service CG. It doesn't have a real long season. We do this with our 40' fiver and dually. I do like your "snow clause".
  10. Bought a new 1974 Viking tent trailer at Keltners Camping Supplies in Pleasant Hall, PA. Our first trip was to Myrtle Beach, SC. at Holiday Travel Park that was operated by Holiday Inns.
  11. RV, there has been one sitting in front of a junkyard here in Yuma, AZ. for a number of years. When it first appeared it didn't look too bad. But the sun and time have not been good to it. There was a retired California Highway Patrolman and his wife who used to spend the winter in the park that we stayed in in Yuma. That Barth was one sharp looking rig. He maintained that MH with kid gloves. Unfortunately he passed away several years ago and I haven't seen it since. In our travels I have seen several the last number of years.
  12. chirakawa, if you would have seen what we seen in 16 snowbird seasons in Yuma, AZ. with consignment lots you would know where I'm coming from. It has been several lots involved in scams and they pick on the senior population in the winter here. They don't need the title until they have a positive sale. That way you know when the transaction is going down and the buyer knows they are getting the title. Yes, the title goes both directions. Two personal friends have been fortunate enough to have gotten their money, one from the lot when they appeared with a sheriff's deputy, and the other who held his title, lucky for him, and filled a stolen vehicle report with the Yuma City police and was paid off by his insurance company. That particular lot owner is now in the Iron Wigwam in California. And another lot had scams going between Pima County and Yuma County that the folks flat out lost their motorhomes and got nothing! Yes, lots look good, but until you have "been had" you have no clue.
  13. JFunk, this isn't regarding insurance but if you go the consignment route, be sure YOU hold the title. Don't give the title to them. If they don't want to do business that way don't walk away, drive away!
  14. $2.95 at Fry's in Yuma, AZ. Foothills.
  15. A couple of weeks ago we stopped in Smiths in Henderson, NV. Had no gas points but they were running a promotion that when scanning your loyalty card it automatically gave you 3 cents off per gallon like Fast Freddy Myer. No such promotion here in Yuma at Frys. But I'm assuming it is in all of Arizona, Frys gives gas points on beer, wine liquor purchases the same as your groceries here in Yuma.
  16. ND Birdman, sounds like you decided on the train to Seattle. Good idea with the weather that is moving into Montana!
  17. We have fulltimed in a 39'10'' (40') for 16 years. Took it to Alaska, and where ever else. Very rarely have been restricted. We use quite a few Forest Service CGs. It also has 3 slides. And as far as using our Dually as a daily driver that has been no problem either as I tend to park away from most no matter what I'm driving. And I have seen a few that avoid you because of the "size" of the truck, I love it!
  18. Like Kirk said. I never put one on but watched, what a PITA. Then when they came back in the fall, usually a tie had snapped or the cover ripped in places. And when the dirt gets under it and the wind blows it acts like a piece of light sandpaper. A carport is OK, if you screen the sides, and it is built wide enough to get the slides out if you have any. Just my take after 16 seasons in Yuma, AZ. If you don't put the vent covers over the roof vents most folks build boxes to cover them. You sure don't one to blow off and let sand and or rain in.
  19. This outfit has a listing on Las Vegas Craigslist. https://lasvegas.craigslist.org/rvs/d/las-vegas-we-gently-move-your-rv/6963376955.html
  20. This Ford truck is not mine. The friend got it back the end of last week from the Ford dealership since they had to order parts. But it still doesn't work. Of course the dealership didn't try it with trailer in tow. If it were mine, I'd try a Prodigy. Hot wire to the battery and find the brake light wire going to the taillights. What I question is if the ECM would pitch a fit.
  21. Has anyone or knows of somebody who has an integrated brake controller on newer pickup trucks that went belly-up? With the truck out of warranty, they were quoted some high price to fix the problem. So instead, they installed an "old school" brake controller like a Prodigy, etc.

  23. Same as several other posters have stated, check out the area first before doing a commitment. Also check to see how far a grocery run would be. We use RT 86 sometimes from El Centro to I-10 and at times the odor is bad. There was a housing development started on the west side of RT 86, cheap lots and very few have sold.
  24. Direct TV and ESPN are in a urinating contest at the present. On Monday night football this week ESPN started to run commercials about the situation. On Tuesday's sports programing on ESPN, Direct had a black line thru part of the ad.
  25. We tried the attachment that Winegard has for the batwing. It fastens in the side of the batwing. Didn't work worth a hoot. Exchanged it for a "Jack" that replaces the whole Winegard head. Very easy to change out and works well for us. The "Jack" resembles a Delta wing.
