  1. The ground connection and -12 v DC are the same thing.
  2. Be aware, that fuse was doing it's life mission, and nonchalantly replacing it will likely result in another death in the future. Time to check over the wiring harness for chafes, scrapes, and rub marks.
  3. Both, depending on the math. Yes, math, like you learned in school.
  4. Seen the video last night, and the armchair quarter-backing along with it. Choices were made, events unfolded. Glad you're safe, nd thanks for sharing your experience for us to learn from.

    Working fine. Nice looking ride.
  6. Given your track record, with a Schrader valve sitting you on the side of the road for several hours in the Las Vegas desert, she may be right. I know you've put some repairs into the truck, but I have no idea of it's current state of readiness. Once you get further in your training work, she'll have more confidence in you and the truck. Until then, not my wife, not my problem.
  7. On the top right corner of the post, there's 3 dots. Click them, a small menu should appear. Select "Edit...", Then go to the title.
  8. The location restrictions mentioned are more for Canadian services, I think. Canadian streaming services typically don't work outside of Canada, so a VPN becomes the only way to use a service that is paid for. The reason is the same as for Canadian satellite services. Money. The Canadian services run Canadian advertising, even though they're distributing an American production. Bell satellite services stopped providing service south of 49 years ago, Shaw is in the process of doing the same. There's no VPN work around for satellite, but streaming is still the wild west. Give it another couple years, and you won't be able to connect via a VPN, as some have done.
  9. The first thing to learn: try the cheapest, easiest things first. Don't plan an engine tear down, when all you missed was a dirty air filter. Most of the time, logic will guide you correctly, but occasionally the collective wisdom here will be willing to help.
  10. Watch the weather in northern Idaho/southern Montana, (think Monida Pass), then around Butte, MT. 90 is an easy e/w route, but 15-20-197 has better scenery. Keep a very close eye on the weather on this route, year round.
  11. Throw out bearing or input shaft bearing.
  12. Group 27 batteries typically run around 85 ah capacity. Around 40 usable.
  13. Take the extra IMG tags off the URL to have them post.
  14. I doubt that furniture paint would work for the exterior of an RV, but that's just me.
  15. Greg typically moves trucks north, but may be of assistance going south. It's not a big deal, just have all the paperwork ready before you approach the border crossing, including scheduling your crossing. Show up without the appointment, be prepared to wait, and wait, then wait some more. You'll be getting the paperwork to apply for a title, as we don't use titles for vehicles, as the US does. I used to have a list of all the needed documents, and procedures, but I think CBP website lists it. ETA: corrected CBP
  16. Every time I learn something new, I forget something I've known for years. It has been a real pleasure watching the progress, even if you didn't do things the way I would have.
  17. All depends on the price of labour in your neighborhood. The days of swapping the removed parts for the work done are long gone, so it boils down to labour costs.
  18. Manual, probably flat tow. Auto, almost certainly need a dolly. Decent enough cars, good power, good fuel mileage, decent room.
  19. Why worry about a tow, when all you need is a rad hose and some coolant? We've used a taxi to hotshot parts before.
  20. It's the little circular arrow up at the top of your browser window. Or, right click, select refresh (or reload). It's coming up fine for me, as well.
  21. Lock the door! Draw the curtains! Mark Z is on to you! 😄 Seriously, try refreshing the page.
  22. There's 3 (at least) HDT groups, relating to RV use on FaceBook. Some are busier than others, some are populated by professional drivers more. There's no cost for admission, other than your time. There's easier picture sharing on FB, so there's more there, but the build threads get spread out there.
  23. That's the one I was talking about, earlier. Thanks for following up for us.
