Stancliff
Hey Joe & Nancy----We're planning on attending the RV Supershow in Tampa in January, is that one on your list? Hello all,We have also been MIA from the forum. So it was great news to hear about the HAMS beautiful home. Congratulations!!! We look forward to seeing you two on the road again. We are currently in North Florida visiting family and plan to attend many RV rallies around the state this winter. We spent 6 months of the summer making a large loop around the Rocky Mountains and capping it off at the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. Another check mark on our bucket list. On the way east, we met Dave and Barb at Livingston. We had a great time catching up, geocaching and helping them lighten their coach load of awesome wine. If any of our classmates are visiting Florida this winter, give us a shout.
M2ToGo
Rick and Carol, So far it's not looking good for us to go this year. If things change, I'll let you know. Our home base is just 3 hours away so we have been many times over the years. It is the best show we've seen for the quantity of indoor vendors and new RV's. And the on-site camping is convenient. It would be great to catch up with you two and play with Cheyenne, of course! Let us know when you get to Florida. Nancy Joe and Nancy Too many roads, too little time. lindewoman
Merry Christmas to all 06 Classmates out there! We hope all of you are warm and contented and settled in to celebrate the holidays. We noticed that the FRAPPR map is going out of date. It hasn't been used very faithfully -by me or most-- do we want to continue? The Lindemans have added to their entourage--we finally had the courage to replace the beloved dog we lost right after going on the road. We are so happy with our bouncy little ball of fluff that looks like a puppy and acts like a puppy, but is actually a grown and socialized (read housebroken, mannerly) toy poodle found at the Humane Society of Marshall Texas. Bless them! Who in the world would fail to check the local Humane Society and shelter when their darling lap-sitter was missing in action? Their loss is our gain and Cocoa Puff is enjoying his wheels and his new laps. And our coach is just right for a runway back and forth and up and down the couches when he gets the crazies. We are leaving Rockport today and headed for Harlingen (First Colony) for Christmas, then will spend time at Alamo Casa del Valle and Mission West before going to the SANWR. Looking forward to getting together with one and all. Merry Christmas Gail and Keith Gail n Keith and Cocoa Puff the fuzzball 1999 Dutch Star with Cruze toad. Suzanne & I are OK with the Frapper map. Of course, we haven't used it because of our absence from The Road; but, we think it's a neat tracking aid. . .when it works. Is it loading faster and more reliabably? EDIT! Just read Frapper's notice. . .looks like they want $24.99 from subscribers. . .we'd just as soon spend $24.99 on the next '06 get together; and, keep up with everyone on this forum for free! froggi
Hi Jim & Sheri and Barb & Dave. . .we have reserved site #37 at Hickory Creek from Nov. 29 thru Dec. 12. The irony of this is, this was our last place to stay in our beloved Airstream as we prepared to give up the RVing lifestyle for good. . .now we will pick up where we left off. We are sure looking forward to seeing you guys after all this time "on the shelf"!!! I haven't had time to check in here for a while...I am SOOOOO happy to see you guys back on the road. Hope we can meet up in Jan/Feb/Mar. We plan to be at Q, then Yuma for 10 days, followed by San Diego for 2-3 weeks, ending up at the Gypsy Journal Rally in Yuma come early March. Jeff & Suzanne
Well, it's threatening a 15 yr cold record in the Ft. Worth area; and, our Aqua Hot decided that 14 years of service was enough! We are outta here heading to MOT in Nacogdoches to get it fixed...then to Livingston to get our driver's licences fixed. After that, here we come Arizona...we seek your warmth! Hi Froggi. . .we haven't figured out when/if we will be at Q. . .our brains are too frozen to make important decisions!! We just arrived at Livingston to get our driver's licenses upgraded to keep lawyers and insurance agents at bay; so we will head west sometime next week, weather permitting. We only go about 200 miles (+ or -) a day; so it may be a while before we arrive in the Promised Land. . .Arizona! Is anyone else here at Rainbow's End? We are in Site 150 in the lot near the campground office. . . adagadak
Froggi... Are the Boomers still parking over on the East side of Q?? I 'll get to Plomosa Road Sunday to park with the Solo's but want to drive over & visit Boomers & the Folk Music Rovers (if they still exist and still park over there also). froggi
Steve, these are the directions I got for the Boomer site: Take Exit 19 off Hwy 10 and turn South and go to the stop sign. Turn left/east, and follow the frontage road east until it ends (about 2 miles. Turn right/south onto the dirt road (Mitchell Mine Rd) and go approximately 1.25 miles. (it is graded) When the road makes a sharp turn to the left, you make a sharp right and at this point you’ll see the RVs.parked about 500 ft. back. There will be BOOMER SIGNS all along the route to direct you. Jeff & Suzanne
Hi all you guys enjoying warm weather!!! We can see the light at the end of the tunnel (think Mesa, AZ) now that our eyelids are unfrozen!! and success with the Aqua Hot emergency. . .14 years of service caught up with her. A blower bearing went out; along, with other parts, sensors, etc. resulting in about $1400 in repair. Three hundred of that was wasted at United RV in East Ft. Worth; where we first took "The Burrow", since we were staying at Texan RV Ranch in Mansfield (good place!). The "Aqua Hot expert" hit us, first off, with the words, "Ugh oh...this is going to cost you big time ($120/hr); and, his high pressure to sign on the work order NOW put me on guard; so, we called Motorhomes of Texas (where we bought "The Burrow") and, they said they could work us in at $!00/hr less 10% on parts and labor; since we bought "The Burrow" from them. Plus, we absolutely trust Derek DiVerdi and his crew to do us right; so, we left Mansfield 5 days early; and, took United's $300 diagnosis (it turned out to be partially inaccurate) to MoT in Nacogodoches. So, BEWARE OF UNITED RV'S service if you are in the Ft. Worth area. We are warm & toasty in Livingston now waiting on mail and rainy weather expected on Thursday; then, we will head west on Sunday; stopping in Brenham, TX (think Blue Bell Ice Cream); Fredericksburg, TX (think German food and a wonderful WWII museum); Ft. Stockton, TX; El Paso; and, on into NM & AZ. We might stop by Q sometime in early February to see if any 06ers are still there on our way to Laughlin, NV/Bullhead City, AZ. We will boondock at Katherine Landing for two or three weeks, oil painting (me); writing (Suzanne); Casino & buffet hopping (both of us); and, generally relaxing. Hope to see some of you out west!!!
