Son is married! The whole family Jeff Dances! Now, we start looking in earnest for our new RV. Right now, we like a 2008 Safari Simba 34' gasser and a 2005 Travel Supreme Envoy 38' DP. Only about $9,000 separating the two in price - hard to choose the best fit.

Go for the most you can get. I know the 34' looks big compared to the Airstream, but if you can swing it a DP really is nice to have in the mountains, can carry anything you want, and that extra 4' will make a difference when fulltiming - especially since you guys like to boondock and you'll have bigger tanks in the DP than the gasser.

We're now in Tyler, have Dave's cataract surgery scheduled for Nov. 12th. We have a few more medical appointments this week, then we will go somewhere for a couple of weeks, then back here for 2 weeks, then the Dallas area for a couple of weeks before heading for Arizona the middle of December.

We did it! The Hams are back in a can! We are now the proud owners (us and the Credit Union) of a 1996 Foretravel U320. "The Burrow" We call it "The Burrow" after the Weasley's home in Harry Potter. The Burrow living area We think we will be very comfy here. Burrow Bedroom

We would never have thought of a 1996 but the previous owner has updated almost everything from a new really comfy mattress to awnings, tires, batteries . . . the list goes on.

We're very excited . . . and scared. Remember we're used to a 30 foot Airstream. This 40 foot behemoth is BIG!

Well guys, we survived our first trip. We've been staying at Motorhomes of Texas the last 3 nights getting the walk through, the coach serviced and the toad hitched up. Not having driven a Class A before, we began with white knuckles, but Jeff has adjusted very well. I haven't driven it yet, but I will. I am also signed up for the RV driving school in Livingston on Nov. 17th. We will probably be at Rainbow about a week before that.

If anyone is in Tyler, we're at the 5 Star RV park for one night only.

All we can say is we love our new rig and can't wait til we are in it FULLTIME!

Jeff & Suzanne,

That's great news. I swear we will be crossing paths on our north/south trips in and out of East Texas. Hopefully we will see you at Thanksgiving. We'll be in Hickory Creek starting on the 25th of November for 2 weeks.

Wow! Congratulations Jeff & Suzanne, "The Burrow" looks like a fine machine to head down the road in. A friend of ours has almost the same coach, and loves it. Good to see you getting ready to get back on the road again. I understand the white knuckles the first time, when I bought our bessyBus, I had to come back through Dallas and I think I still have post traumatic stress from that day :P Hope to see you guys on the road sometime. Hey Hams!!

Congratulations on MH! We look forward to seeing you sometime down the road.

We are currently hanging out along the coast of Oregon in Port Orford until sometime in the early spring. We'll spend the summer months in the West Yellowstone area, so if you get up that way, give us a shout.

Enjoy your new mobile digs......

Congrats to Jeff and Suzanne. Hey Dave and Barb and others, is anyone thinking about our annual get together (not counting the drop out last year)? Sherri and I will be in the Dallas, East TX area until after Christmas when we head for AZ again. We could use some catching up on what everyone is up to.

We said farewell to our older cat "Kit" today. She went downhill very rapidly and we did not want her to suffer. She had 19 1/2 great years with us and we will miss her no nonsense meow when daylight filtered through the curtains telling us another day (and most importantly breakfast) had arrived.

We know how hard it is to lose a beloved pet. Our thoughts are with you both. How wonderful it is that she had such a great long life.

On a lighter note, Jeff and I found that we will be able to get out of our apt. lease earlier since we have an apt. that is in demand. So, we're trying hard to move everything into the Burrow and everything out of the apt. by Dec. 1st. Our ETA for fulltime is November 25th!

Jim and Sheri - We're going to be at Hickory Creek COE after Thanksgiving. I believe Dave and Barb are going to be there. Maybe we can have an early get together. We're game!

Barb, ;)

So sorry to hear of the loss of your dear one. Almost twenty years together, I know she was one loved kitty and a member of your family. Kit chases mice and plays with the kittens freely without pain tonight.

Let me know when you're settled in at Hickory Creek and Dave and Barb are there. We'll come out for a couple of days to visit. We'll be at Loyd Park near Cedar Hill SP over the Weekend following Thanksgiving with lots of folks doing bluegrass music. Maybe we could come to Hickory Creek on Sunday when we leave Loyd Park.

Hi Jim & Sheri and Barb & Dave. . .we have reserved site #37 at Hickory Creek from Nov. 29 thru Dec. 12. The irony of this is, this was our last place to stay in our beloved Airstream as we prepared to give up the RVing lifestyle for good. . .now we will pick up where we left off. We are sure looking forward to seeing you guys after all this time "on the shelf"!!! :) :) <_<

We're in site #56 starting November 25th! Looking forward to catching up. BTW - we still have several bottles of very good wine we picked up over the summer and I really need to get some more space for next year. <_<
