  1. This year John and I moved into a home in NW Phoenix on the road to Wickenburg. We have Ridley (37.5 Avion) in storage close by and we visit her regularly as we still have cargo in the bays. We still plan to travel half the year, we just needed and missed having a garage.....but that comes with taxes, insurance premiums, fees.... ok that is the ugly we didn't miss. We would like to see you seasonal Arizonians, drop us a line next get together.... Gordon, we would not be opposed to a great big Sunday breakfast when you start that back up. Hugs to all... much love and well wishes to Steve Ball, I still love to tell our story of tequila tasting in Mexico . Happy New Year!!
  2. Barb, glad to hear your eye surgery went well. My vision aggravates me most about aging! Winds here in Vegas are gusting over 25mph so we delay our departure till Tuesday. We are headed for 2 months at the Sunflower Resort in Surprise, AZ. This will be our first stay at one of these parks. Hoping to see some of yall and have a nice vacation.
  3. We are camped at Clark County shooting range in North Vegas, and what do I spy from class of 06 something very Red ....
  4. We head south from Jackson, WY in the morning. Cold weather this last week tested my silks for sure, 11 degrees makes it very hard for me to get out of bed. this week in Zion, then Las Vegas, then coast east thru the southwest, finishing in Houston for Christmas. After Chrismas we are gonna real estate shop for a small home or RV port in Summerdale - Orange Beach, Alabama area. Our 1999 Avion needs to come off the road and serve out its life as a vacation cabin. LOL, was just thinking, if we spend winters in Alabama in Ridley (our 5th wheel) and get a new rig for summers in Wyoming, does that make us fulltimers, parttimers, halftimers or snowbirds GLAD GLAD GLAD to see you hitting the pavement again STEVE!!! I still tell that story about our tequila tasting in Progresso, haha @Dick and Paula .....where is Buckeye?
  5. Judy and I got to work together again this winter in Mississippi and we were thinking of when we first volunteered together early in 2007. We were discussing how many we thought there were of us are still hotfooting it around this country? The last 6 years have been something!
  6. We are in Jackson, Wy for the summer, volunteering with the Natl Elk wildlife refuge. Summer here in the valley is lovely. Drop us a line if you come through the valley. We will be here til Oct 1. Glad to hear from you guys!
  7. We are in Jackson, Wy until the end of September. This Friday and Saturday we toured Yellowstone....the upper and lower falls are fantastic with all the snow melt. We really liked the Canyon Drive along Firehole River too! Some fellow volunteers took our daughter and I floating down the Snake river in inflatable canoes last week. That was a great day. Morning lows are still in the 40's...for this Tx girl that is dreamy in July! If you swing thru this way, give us a jingle!
  8. I can't stand it when our forum falls too far down the list!!! What is everyone up too? it's almost August and I am sure fall travels are being planned....where ya headed ..... We are in Austin, Tx at Balcones NWR till end of the month. It's been a good tour of duty, I even got to completely outfit two new 30' travel trailers for use by USFW service. First of August we are taking our two 20 something kids for a summer "camping" trip to the Guadalupe river for a week of tubing and campfires. We have a commitment at Bosque NWR in Socorro, NM for the fall but that may not work out so who knows where we will be. Lately we have been "vacationing" more and volunteering less. Maybe we will get to Q this year? or spend the winter in the valley at a RV resort
  9. We are in Kinder, Louisiana this week, they offer a stay three nights and get the fourth and fifth free deal. Then heading to Livingston through the holiday weekend. Second week of June we will set up as camp-hosts in New Mexico at Navajo Lake State Park for the summer. Its at 6500' on a very large lake....hoping the nights will stay cool. Stay safe all!
  10. Just wondering what everyone is up to? Where you headed this summer? We are in southern Florida....this week staying in Moore Haven, next week we move to Penny and Larry Thompson RV park between Homestead and Miami. So any of you hitting the keys the next couple of months, give us a holler. I have to say after Nov-Feb in Texas, the weather in southern Florida is a great improvement.
  11. ok enough of this winter weather! We are taking a non-driving vacation.....leaving in the morning for 10 days of beaches all south of Puerto Rico. Did someone say rum punch? April in northern Cal ..... someone needs to do a class on this!!!
  12. warmer areas......lol. Someone tell me where its been warm? I miss my flipflops!
  13. Barb, So sorry to hear of the loss of your dear one. Almost twenty years together, I know she was one loved kitty and a member of your family. Kit chases mice and plays with the kittens freely without pain tonight. Diana
  14. We are interested! We aren't solo's but we would join in for the trip. John and I have decided to buy a cab over camper and leave fifth wheel in the US. We may have to pull a small trailer for the freezer
