adagadak
Let's do two.... One there at Pepe's and then, a week or two later, that tail gate on South Padre Is. (or the other way around). Both sound good to me so why not do both???? Steve 2002 34' Hurricane 2001 Saturn SL2 2 tabby cats (CiCi & Leo)

lindewoman
I am definitely up for BOTH! For us, the evening of the 7th is out.... there is this essential BCS Football Championship we must watch. How about Tuesday, 1/8 at Pepes? The mid-afternoon is rumored to be a good time to find seating. They have entertainment and happy hours. Gail n Keith and Cocoa Puff the fuzzball 1999 Dutch Star with Cruze toad. Jeff & Suzanne
Duane and Louise - we are at RV Texan Ranch in Mansfield until next Friday when we head west. Sorry we won't make the RGV festivities this year as we want to get out to Bullhead City, AZ to meet up with my Aunt, then on to Las Vegas and LA. We definitely want to get somewhere that is warmer than the DFW area (although it is supposed to be in the 70's tomorrow!) Can't wait to get on the road again! Tugg-n-Ridley
Pepe's on the 8th at 2PM is great for us too. It's our day off and we love mexican food, margaritas and dining on the river..... adagadak
Be there tomorrow. Right now I'm in Victoria for the night. It's nice and warm here but windy as all get out! That drive from Livingston was VERY tiring because of the wind. Hope the drive tomorrow is easier. adagadak
Hurry south, the weather is warm (BIG change over Livingston). Last night I was able to sleep with the windows open instead of having the heater running. Simple wonderful! Barbaraok
We've moved back to Tyler and on Wednesday Dave will have eye surgery to clear out the retinal hemorrhage in his right eye and hopefully return at least the peripheral vision in that eye. We had a great time with our daughter and son-in-law in Arlington, and also visiting with other '06ers. I'm sure that Dave will be chomping at the bit to get out of here, but the retinologist wants to see him at one week out to make sure everything is ok. We're also getting a referral to another retinal specialist in Ocala, FL for follow-up. Have fun at the mini-reunion. Jeff & Suzanne
Dave and Barb - we'll be putting out lots of positive vibes your way hoping that Dave's surgery is successful and you're on your way east with no more hiccups. Keep us informed on the outcome. adagadak
To all the RGV Gang.... Another windy, miserable drive but I'm here now in Edinburg. Sure is nice to sleep with the windows open! I have to go out and find the WalMart today and pay a visit to the BofA in Pharr. Think I'll also drive to Mission and find Pepe's so I'll know where to go tomorrow. What I need is a good map of the RGV. Any suggestions where I can find one? Thanks. scubadave
Steve: have not located a good map of the valley. Only ones I have found are not to scale type things that are for a special interest. Have not dropped by the Chamber yet. Vern & Sue
Our park has some that are a little better than the one on the back of the TX state map, I'll bring some tomorrow. fedexman
Steve...Paul found a great map of the valley at either WalMart in Weslaco or the HEB store there. I'd run and get it and give you the specifics but we are in San Antonio for Paul's VA appt tomorrow. He is being tested for Agent Orange related health issues. Sorry we haven't kept in touch lately, had tons of company for the holidays and were doing the sightseeing tour guide gig. I wish we could meet everyone at Pepe's...we have been past there many times, just never made it in...have heard it is a great place and a lot of fun...we have gone to the Riverside club which is a bit farther down the road...Polka Joe used to perform on Saturday afternoons from 2 to 6 at Riverside, but I haven't seen anything about his appearances this year...my 91 y/o FIL just loves to polka...keep Riverside in mind...they have tenderloin sandwiches that are huge...one could feed four! They only do serve beer and maybe wine, but setups are available. You can also do the Rio Grande Riverboat ride, but IMNSHO it's not worth it to see all the tires strewn along the shores...that's just me. After San Antonio we are heading to Fredericksburg and then to Corpus Christi...the MH is in storage so we are using Quality hotel privelege points...gosh how I hate motel rooms. Have a great time and we will try to keep in touch. hugs Dennise The (retired) FedExman & the Dizzy Blonde Paul and Dennise Ziaja Living our Fulltime Dream 2002 Damon Ultrasport 2007 Saturn Vue toad Traveling with our yorkiepoos Mack and Lucy,
