Like your light bar the top one.  Where did you get this.

I bought both of them from eBay.  If you want PM me and I can send you the links to them.  I didn’t think the price was that bad.

Got all the bearings packed on the trailer and Cab air bags replaced. The air bags were really easy. Only took about 10 minutes.

Not actually on the truck, but similar size and number of tires. I tried to upload a photo but the link must be broken. It just sits and spins.

Anyone have an old Porter Cable pancake compressor? I've had mine since I lived in South Florida many years ago. Just used it to air up the tires on my trailer after putting the "Cross Fires" back on last month. The indicator said 10lbs low so I set the output to 110psi and clicked on the locking "Chuck" after allowing the tank to fill to 120psi. It only takes a few seconds for the compressor to kick back in and a few minutes (but less than I expected) for the compressor to shut off again. Now have the appropriate color in the viewer on all 4 sets of duals. Will hit the truck tires tomorrow after allowing the compressor to rest for a day. All in all it took less than an hour. It would take the guys at the "Tire Shop" over 1/2 hour to do them it seemed so I will continue to use the little Porter Cable for this. I won't try to set a bead with it or do a full inflation from flat.

Made up an adapter to air the truck with shop air. PACCAR puts a male Parker cat. 1 fitting on the frame rail by the left steer tire to connect for towing. One Bh1-62 and a shop coupler, and now my truck can be aired up before starting the engine.

I've heard of doing that at "Campgrounds" but what advantage is there in your shop? I guess if you are searching for a leak you wouldn't have to start the truck to build up pressure.

True, plus, if it's in the shop for an extended time and looses pressure, I can plug in and air up in a couple minutes, v. idling the engine for much longer stinking up the shop.  The air fitting is next to the battery lugs for jump starting, so I can leave the air and trickle charger hooked up for as long as it's sitting there.  I park under roof behind the shop, and plan to put an access port in the wall to run cords/hoses out as needed.

Hey Rick, you are in Indiana, right? I will be in your area Tuesday. We will be at the camp shore campground between Aurora and Rising Sun. It used to be Little Farm campground.

Well the steering gear seal blew out today and I drove 250 miles without power steering! Left turns from traffic lights were a little bit of a grunt. Getting turned around in my culdesac and backed into the driveway was about all I could do. New steering gear ordered. From Volvo. About $900 with shipping. Not as bad as I thought it would be for a new one. (not rebuilt)  Doing my part to stimulate the economy and keep the ball rolling!

I would have expected more $$$ also.  That’s funny, the dealer parts counter should quote that after the bottom line on the receipt.  🥸

The place I took it to fix said the price was seven hundred and something and about $200 to ship it. I questioned if it was a new part and they said they bought it from Volvo. They told me to start that they only use new parts, no rebuilds.

Finally got to replacing our inverter/charger after the lightning incident only to find out that the new inverter doesn't work.

I bought it over a year ago so I am SOL on this one...

Left on a boys only trip Monday. Hopefully we got all the accidents out of the way the first day.

The jaws were closed but not latched all the way. Biggest mistake was I ran the jacks up before the tug test. No major damage. Spliced the cord and destroyed the spare tire carrier. I'm glad it happened in the shop and not on the road. PXL_20240520_120837598.thumb.jpg.8f766e012a1cad6396cd1d56ed7bdfdd.jpg

There’s more. I’ll let Jon fill y’all in further.

Bright spot is, Jon and the boys got a chance to visit us, and the repair cost nothing.

Getting ready to hit the road this morning. Did all the last minute checks inside and out. Realized there was no 12v power inside. I checked everything I knew to do. So I called Rick to pick his brain. Drove over to his shop and started looking things over and throwing out ideas. Anyway it ended up one of the boys accidentally hit the master switch and shut it off. The switch is located directly under the fridge by the floor.

The last few miles to the inlaws in Kentucky I realized my trailer brakes were not working. I have a few days to figure that out. I just have a regular brake controller like a pickup truck. When I step on the brake peddle it won't light up. I can hit the button on the controller and it appears to work but don't apply the brakes.

They worked at my last stop but when I got off the exit at natural bridge it felt funny. I just took it slow and easy the last 20 miles and arrived safe and intact.

Blinkers, brake lights and tail lights all work. It's just the brakes that dont.

You know a retired farmer who tinkers on campers......  It's only a couple hunnert miles back.

It was kinda funny how while Jon and I were thinking out loud about his electrical problem, I remembered having a similar issue a few months ago, when my inverter had overheated, and needed to be re-set.  He looked for a re-set button and found the switch had been accidently been flipped off.  But we had a nice visit, and he bought me lunch.

Installed a new plug and now everything works. When I dropped the trailer we just spliced the cord where there was an obvious smash but it appears there is another bad spot we missed. I am going to pull this all apart later and see what it looks like. PXL_20240524_125637368.thumb.jpg.a952d81a2259a5963abf42ae527ad280.jpg

Worked on the inverter project today.  I did figure out the problem and got it fixed.  Then had to fix some other related stuff.  Now I have a functioning inverter again.

Yay!

So the fuel line on on the Kubota generator decided to come apart and dump 5 gallons of fuel all over the bed. So that was my excitement for the day. Ruined my big 12 person cabin tent. But I guess I'm still better off than that hay hauler we seen on fire headed the other direction.

Replaced the brake and trailer air supply valves in the dashboard, parking braked decided it no longer wanted to work correctly, also fixed an air leak deeper in the dash and repaired every wire on the radio after discovering ONE bare wire connection, figure it was out already and better safe than sorry.

I said OUCH today!  But it had a little play in the steering wheel since I've owned it, not much, but now none, so that's nice.

Got to Iowa May 28th and settled in. That's where my 2001 Gold Volvo spend the winter. Expected to have to work really hard, charging up the batteries and other things, but to my surprise the truck started at the first turn of the key today and kept running for 30 minutes. I usually only start my trucks if I'm going to drive them, but this one I'm not sure when I will be able to move it or where. It's in a pretty good spot for now.

I did disconnect the batteries and had actually planned on plugging in a "Trickle" charger, but it didn't happen. When I hooked up the batteries the voltmeter on the truck showed 11.8 so they were down maybe a bit, but apparently it was warm enough for the fuel to ignite quickly. Let the alternator work it's magic for the 30 minutes with nothing extra running on the 12 volt system.

Now to decide what I will do with it before I head out in late July and not back in Iowa till about this time next year.
