Laura86
Dear veterans, My name is Laura Rogiers, and I am involved in the establishment of a new charity that caters to connecting US veterans from across the globe. As part of my work, I am looking for veterans, specifically pilots, who now work in the pharmaceutical industry. This interest stems from the fact that my grandfather served as a pilot during the Second World War and the cause is close to my heart. From a young age, I have been very aware of the great sacrifice that he and countless other brave men and women in the forces have made and continue to make to guarantee freedom, democracy and to make the world a safer place. It would be great if you could help me with this initiative. There has never been a better time to thank our sometimes-unsung heroes in uniform. Regards, Laura Rogiers
Chalkie
I am not quite sure how you expect this charity to work, or exactly what is the charitable part of the endeavor. There are already groups/activities such as Together We Served which has been around for a number of years and would seem to cater to the same end result. It would be helpful if you were to share more information about this new charity and what it will do that others do not now cover. I would also want to know much more about you and the others involved in founding it. Quote Good travelin !...............KirkFull-time 11+ years...... NDBirdman
There's already too many darn charities with their hands out concerning vets, don't need another one lining some one else's pocket. I see this as a spammer. RV_
Jim, I've run across lawyers and politicians who were MDs first, and a minister who was a practicing cardiopulmonary surgeon. Here in my Colorado area we have an accident attorney who was an MD first. I'm sure there must be some engineers who were or became MDs too. Some just want a change of pace or became bored. RV_
Welcome home Bill. Thank you for your service. One of our members here, Dick Acker, fought in the battle of the IA Drang Valley. He explained the book, and autographed a copy for me from his reunion of "We Were Soldiers Once, And Young" Battalion under then Col Hal Moore. NamMedevac 70
I saw the great realistic movie "We Were Soldiers" and wish it could have been produced in the 70s or 80s but better late than never. Cheers
