  1. About 7 to 9 years ago I read an RV news article that said on a square foot basis you get more value and space with a TT in comparison to other types of RV. They may have included 5th wheels in that write up. Please note to the NPs I am not promoting TTs over other types of RV so don't go hyper over this. Those that may be interested can find their own evidence link. Good luck. My next RV may be a class B. Cheers and grins to the many with jeers to a few KHs/NPs. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1739912699644241&type=3
  2. "How do I complain about a moderator's behavior?" From your recent comments to me yesterday you sounded like a moderator or administrator sport. LOL. My goodness me. I will now subtract some stars from the board. Cheers and Grins to the good guys. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1739912699644241&type=3
  3. Thanks for your updates RV. You and Mr. Wizard on the GS RV.Net technology forum are the best of the best. Cheers
  4. Interesting. The key word is "selectivity". I do love the GS RV.Net. Cheers to you.
  5. As a former small business financial and tax accountant and SEC CFP I use to know all this but that was a long long time ago and there has been no need for me to stay up to date since retirement. My specialty then was S Corporations and both Congress and IRS kept changing the rules and regs frequently on these corporations that kept me hopping. I remember Reagan was then POTUS I think. The worst paper work requirement for me was not the Feds or IRS but rather the Great State of Texas. There is not enough space here to list all the paperwork burdens Texas then placed on small business and may rival California, NY, etc. Thanks RV for your recent updates on this and other topics. Three cheers for you sport. Former legislative aid and pilot to two Texas Governors https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.2111685582466949&type=3
  6. I have extensively used Compendium and Allstays along with Campground Reviews to locate campgrounds for many years and found their info to be very accurate and useful every time. Using at least two sources I cross check the info on each location as I have lots of time between fishing and camping trips for planning next. Of course others may have a different experience. Five stars to both IMHO and Google search is my friend along with Forest Camping.com.
  7. My first PC was an Apple I Mac 3 (?) that lasted 3 years and failed day after Warranty expired. Since then (about 2003) I have used only cheap windows operating systems and they have all worked great including Acer Windows Vista that I kept using after MS ended support. I have upgraded just for fun the Acer Vista and Win 7 to Win 10 for free and unlike others encountered absolutely no problems with the upgrade process or with the several Win 10 major updates to date. Acer laptop is well over 15 years old. I have four laptops that are Win 10 (2), 8.1, and 7 that are still going strong after several to many years of road travel and remote area use. I use Malwarebytes and other anti virus, anti malware on all of them. Now using new Lenovo Win 10 laptop I Core 7 and the others are for backup. Happy camper here. https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=2310260835942755&set=a.1377149002587281
  8. Due to my simple plain lifestyle of camping, fishing and hiking I have no need for costly insurance except the minimum for vehicles. I have old pair binoculars, my smartphone is also my camera and wifi access point. MY laptop is easy to carry when I need it away from vehicles, house, etc. My fishing camping equipment is not expensive tempting stuff. Nothing special or specialized or expensive about any of my possessions, etc. This has worked well for many many years in extensive travels. My cable locks and chains do serve as a deterrent to some along with trailer hitch locks/chains. A bright spot light and flashlights are useful plus airhorn. Cheers at the campfire.
  9. When parked in many areas and at remote locations such as trailheads I use a two prong steering wheel lock and leave my camper shell unlock. Been doing this for many years in many states and no problems so far. Takes only a few seconds to position the wheel lock and thieves would have to saw the steering wheel in two places according locksmith. NO high tech BS and works for me. Thieves I imagine lick their lips when they see high priced vehicles parked in vulnerable locations. See you around the campfire and cheers to the good guys. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.2071282349840606&type=3
  10. Thanks for recent PSA info RV. We both read the same tech websites and news items. Cheers to you. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1738689559766555&type=3
  11. That's a good one RV. The poor dumb guy or gal may have been desperate to find a remote spot away from the heathens and maddening crowd. An S-64 Skycrane would have been most useful to him or her. 3 cheers a burp and a . https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1732362730399238&type=3 You guys should know by now
  12. Sounds like you are looking for a personal experience from an experienced member/s and there are more than a few on here such as RV Derek. Also Mr. Wizard on the Good Sam RV technology forum has been very friendly and helpful to me over the years. He is the best of the best and I do love GS RV.NET. I have great success with the AT&T Mobley cellular Hotspot at a cheap rate however they discontinued offering this some time ago but there are other carriers such as Version that offer similar type hotspots with great signal reception for RV road travel/camping. I can also access open wifi internet access points at public and private locations such as campgrounds, hotels, restaurants with my cell phone and laptop. May need a passcode to log on for the connection. Good luck and happy trails. 13. Yes we used these online middleman services when we sold a house some years ago long distance that included acceptance of electronic signatures. Also a combination of many emails, telephone calls and a few faxes were involved along with regular overnight express mail. Emails included attachments of document files and photos. Lot of involvement activities for a while. For the very few times I need to fax something I go to UPS or Fed Ex store. Cheers https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1734358503532994&type=3
  14. I find it desirable to reply to Kirk's statement about our "high standard of education" . Not so much anymore or every where according to news I have read/heard in recent years revealing America's now low standard of education compared to many many other countries and of course many people know this also. You can also find these many news articles with a tiny amount of effort. I cannot see some comments of some due to my list. Aw Shucks. Cheers to the good guys. 15. Thanks RV. Covid-19 and variants is the gift that keeps on giving. Wonder what follows Delta Variant. Thank you C . https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1732362730399238&type=3 This is only the beginning and
  16. If you receive no answers here then could be so many things such as stuck thermostat, air bubble in cooling system, etc. Check for any engine codes with diagnostic code reader. If you do not have manual for the truck then check for online trouble shooting manuals/PDFs for your vehicle. Besides this forum check with rvsources.com, fifthwheelest.com, OTR truckers blogs, forums, Good Sam RV forums, etc. They all have HDT owners/drivers. good luck https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1732362730399238&type=3
  17. You might try calling Ryder used truck sales and also U-Haul trucks sales and find out who their lending partners are then contact those lenders direct. You can pretend to Ryder and U-Haul you are in the market to buy one of their trucks in order to get the info. Might and might not work. Also if you are former military or active then USAA of San Antonio may give you a loan if used truck not more than 3 years old. Worth a call. Interest rates on used vehicles may run higher than for new??? Also websites such as rvresources.com and fifthwheelest.com, Good Sam RV forums, etc. has info on this subject. Google search shows many other hits. Lots of options for info. Good luck. 21. According to batteryuniversity a Tesla Model S EV battery weighs 1200 libs. Interesting. https://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/electric_vehicle_ev Cheers for the gripper. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1733698683598976&type=3
  22. The Reno BLM office just closed down all camping at the recreation area just north of the city that was full of junk and abandoned RVs and vehicles plus a trash dump. They have also stopped camping at another off-road vehicle area NW of the city due to heathen activities and pedestrian vehicle hit and runs by trucks, motorbikes, 4 wheelers. The county sheriff is tired of spending a lot of man hours policing these young (mostly) pukes. Reno also enforces parking restrictions on RVs on the streets and business parking lots. No overnight RV parking allowed on the lots. I only see a few now and then. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1739912699644241&type=3
  23. Been RV camping since 2003 and the thieves so far have never bothered my simple looking plain jane truck or rig in the many states and campgrounds I have visited. When in remote areas I can watch my outfit with binoculars and will fire a shot in the air (BLM desert) if anyone messes with my trailer. One time a long time ago two dudes were approaching me as they fired their rifles into the sage brush trying to kill rabbits. I stood up from my chair with my semi automatic rifle and told them to move on and they both back tracked without delay and I watched them drive off in their wheelies. They were checking me out IMHO. Others have left when they saw me watching them with my binoculars. Very simple and easy to do.
