Just found a new to me FL beach campground

I stumbled across this FL beach camping site: Hugenot Park-Jacksonville FL  Electric only with water and dump station on site $27/night + $6 a stay per pet. It must be right across from Mayport Naval Station. This vlog episode is how I discovered the place: RV Living Yet . I've only looked at a couple of their episodes and am not a big fan so far. But they do cover a lot of campgrounds, at least they mentioned the location of this one. They seem to be 1000 Trail members.

I'm a life long FL resident and I thought I knew all the public beach campsites. This seems to be near FT Clinch but I don't think you can see Mayport from that park.

I'm pretty sure I stayed there in the 1990's on my first trip into Florida. I had to stop in Jacksonville to get my temporary nursing license and found a campground on the beach near a military base. I had a pickup with a topper and no A/C. Thankfully it was not summer time. I lived in South Florida for many years and saw several RV parks close down there to make room for strip malls and housing developments. Glad you found this one still there. I haven't had to stay in Jacksonville overnight since.

Strict but reasonable to my way of thinking. Having no alcoholic beverages in your RV could be a bit of a challenge for many, though.

Hanna Park, also a city of Jacksonville FL park, is 50AMP full hookup and just south of Mayport.  The campsites are not on the beach, but the park has a large beach you can walk, bike or drive to from your campsite.  We have stayed many times and people are openly drinking alcohol at their campsites and no one seems to get in trouble.   I think Hugenot park used to be dry camping only, so it must have been upgraded.  Hanna park used to only have some 50AMP,  but they upgraded all sites to 50AMP a few years ago.

'Knock knock, we are the beer police. Come out with you hands up!"  We have stayed there many times, no harassment from the Sheriff  and I am sad it is being revealed. Atlantic ocean (beautiful/gorgeous), St Johns River, Fort George Inlet, the place is a hidden gem. North side of the St Johns River. Actually a City of Jacksonville park. Be discrete and there will be no issues as with most things. But then again, we are a group of adults. Yes?

We once hosted an extended family gathering in a state park campground. Without thinking about it they brought beer. So there I was inside our Class C trying to find enough big glasses into which the beer could be poured since drinking from the bottle suddenly seems like not a good idea. Tupperware iced tea glasses work just fine.

I have never run across that sort of enforcement, even though we have been in many parks with a no alcohol rule. Having been a campground host in several parks with campgrounds, I am also quite familiar with the reasoning behind such rules. As told to me by more than one park LEO, the rule is usually only enforced if a group becomes rowdy and is there to make it easy to throw out any people who drink excessively and become a problem.
