  1. Which has better WiFi reception (distance), An Amazon TV or a generic TV with a Fire Stick plugged in? Also, is there and extender that will move a Fire Stick closer to a window? Thanks
  2. Our 28' 2004 Keystone Cougar has been sitting since the Fall of 2019, unused and for the most part shut down. Our son and family are visiting for the holidays. The 5th wheel would be perfect for them and pets for 2 weeks. So, time to wake up 5th Wheel! The AC works fine. Water pump/plumbing is leaking. I will look at that today. There are 3 110vac outlets in the kitchen. 1 is a GFI outlet. So the GFI may have gone bad as it does not TEST/RESET. Would the GFI outlet also control the other 2 outlets? There are other 110vac outlets throughout the 5th wheel which have power.
  3. Have not been there since maybe summer 1979. As I recall one could drive into any campground and find a site without a reservation. At least I recall that is what we did. A group of sailors on liberty from Mare Island NS with a pop up camper from MWR stayed at a campground in the valley. Swimming in the Toulomne River was great. Very cold, crystal clear and boulders everywhere. I have heard that in the following years it has become a parking lot. Recall a few years ago reading about the vehicle smog in the valley. How true Robert Blake, "You can never go home".
  4. I am so smart. I bought 4 Maxis in 2019 and none have ever been found flat on the bottom. Please excuse, yes, Maxis are dependable tires. I, as I am sure others did, a bit of research before buying.
  5. Darn man! is Sam Elliot the actor your brother?

  6. Opps! little bit of a diversion but what makes "4 down" possible? Rear wheel drive?
  7. Were did you find that wife? Mine refuses to drive our F-250.
  8. Just got around to reading the Weekend Moderators. Pretty sorry. Possibly reading comprehension is not your forte. I am sorry but I need to do nothing as directed by you. You failed to defend or explain your, what I find, uninformed comment "let's run him out of business" It was a bad idea. No compassion for the employees. Still is and remains short sighted self righteousness. Instead of defending or explaining your comment you chose instead to attempt to discredit me on very dubious and obscure grounds unrelated to your point - let's run him out of business! Almost 4 months since your last. I am pretty sure why I have not read it before. I believe I have had my fill of Weekend Moderators. Happy trails!
  9. Another oversite by Stars and Stripes or maybe the VA. What about that large group of vets between 50 and 85? Where/when do they fit in?
  10. Based on your related vehicle buying issues (3) I will probably not be asking you about a hot stock pick. Anyhow, my experience has been to the contrary. We bought a 5th wheel in TN and towed it home to FL. Private seller signed the title, gave me a Bill of Sale (which no one ever asked for), took it to the Dept of Revenue, got a temp tag and towed it home to FL. Easy peasy! Title transfer/registration was just as painless (inexpensive) here in the Sunshine State.
  11. 'Knock knock, we are the beer police. Come out with you hands up!" We have stayed there many times, no harassment from the Sheriff and I am sad it is being revealed. Atlantic ocean (beautiful/gorgeous), St Johns River, Fort George Inlet, the place is a hidden gem. North side of the St Johns River. Actually a City of Jacksonville park. Be discrete and there will be no issues as with most things. But then again, we are a group of adults. Yes?
  12. Yes he is missed. One decent human being.
  13. Ha Ha! Not falling for it. Never will I click on a link to "give me the scoop on poop". Good try.
  14. Finally received the invitation email and I downloaded the new app. Had trouble registering. Called and was told to enter all the numbers on the card not just the ones in bolded large font. Never used the "route" function on the old card so I can't say I miss it. Otherwise it appears the same. Gee, ask for directions? Never. Thanks for the suggestion.
  15. If I recall correctly, on my 5er, open the port side propane bottle storage compartment. There is a hole on the inside wall level with the jack motor. Insert crank handle here if you have one.
  16. Yeah, I received this email also on the 9th. Signed up the next day. It is now the 14th and I have heard nothing. Signed up again today. Anyone have success downloading this new app?
  17. Just read your post. Agree that a funnel will not handle 30-60 gal/min. Are you telling me the slowest rate on any variable pump handle cannot be held down to accommodate a funnel?
  18. I believe the top 2 are Boondockers Welcome and Passport America. No other organization I know of can come close to their discounts.
  19. We have been members of Boondockers Welcome since Oct 2018. We have hosted around 50 times since joining. Used it almost exclusively on a 2 month trip last summer as guests. The money we saved on campground fees kept us on the road for the 2nd month. You get a 3 month guest credit every time you host. We have met the nicest and most interesting people. All that is required of a host is that they provide you with a place to park overnight. Most also provide water and electric and depending on the host you can stay up to 5 nights. Some charge a nominal fee for hook up. A 38' 5th wheel with 2 ACs uses less than 2 kw/day here in Florida. That is about $2.20 from my electric company. I see charging a fee as "gaming" the system. there are a few who do. We never charge anything. There are well over 2000 hosts in the United States! Without Boondockers Welcome we probably would quit RVing. It has spoiled us.
  20. Have had several accounts over the last few years. Always a nom de plume. Zuckerberg usually uncovers me after awhile and I resurface as someone else. I have no "friends". Only use facebook to read the homeowner's association page. Also, I use the Tor browser (black web) when logging on to facebook.
  21. I get the impression Pappy Y thinks his post was clever. Unfortunately Pappy Y, it reads as sarcastic. Him and others may not be versed in the rudimentary art of controlling variable pump flow rates. I for one am and so therefore I believe the funnel idea has merit.
  22. Well Linda et al, looks like you are spot on. I called the Loves in Hawthorne FL where I have been fueling with the TSD card for the last several months. Sure enough they have a small nozzle pump at the far end of the truck lanes. Wonders never cease!
