Kirk W
Just thought it might be fun to share some old pictures from our days as young military members. Some memories never fade. This was taken on one of my first experiences on my first ship. I was 18 years old and proud as can be!

The Mk 19 Grenade Launcher fired an average 300 rounds per minute out to 200 meters max effective range. Helipilot
Hello vermilye, Do you remember AH1G Cobras at that firebase in the A Shau in '69? I stayed for two weeks at a time there with my aircraft supporting operations. I was 101st Airborne, 4/77 ARA (Aerial Rocket Artillery). We provided close air support and gunship cover for the infantry. I took 127 hits to my ship from ground fire while in the valley. and also got the Purple Heart near the end of my tour there. Thanks for your service and have you noticed in all the above posts we were all handsome and skinny guys back then?
champ_49
I would have loved to have the pictures that I had in the Nam. Getting medivac out I lost everything I owned over there. Wasn't much in the first place but it was mine. Dave

Kirk W
Pictures need to be located somewhere on the internet or stored online at a place like PhotoBucket and then you use the url for the shot in the image properties window that opens when you click on the "insert photo" icon at the top of the posting window. I was in the ASA from when I enlisted in 72 until they deactivated it. Udorn was the nearest big town in Thailand but a few miles down the road from Nong Soon which was the small town outside the gate. Google used to have some nice images of the 7th but they are now all blurred or hidden.
