  1. We STILL haven't received our stimulus check, but I WAS finally able to get the Get My Payment site to work yesterday after a couple of weeks trying! (First, as noted above, I kept getting the message that the banking information I had entered didn't match their records (it did), and then for days on end I kept getting a "technical difficulties" message.) So now they have my direct deposit information (they had it, anyway), maybe we'll be getting money deposited shortly. But I'm not holding my breath.
  2. Since the census is used for things like the number of U.S. Representatives in Congress from each state, if we were still fulltimers, I, too, would use my domicile address even if that is not where I physically was on April 1.
  3. We're at our home in Washington State as we normally are during the spring and summer. We usually head south for the winter at the end of October and we're hoping we'll still be able to do so this fall. Time will tell.
  4. No post office, no voting by mail, including absentee ballots.
  5. The problem is, the site is telling me the banking information I entered (and where our refunds are deposited) does not match their records. I've used information from both 2019 and 2018 and get the same message. That's why I'm thinking that, for some reason, the IRS is using the banking information where are Social Security payments are deposited.
  6. We haven't received ours, either. My problem is that when I filed our taxes in February of this year, we did not get a refund, so didn't give the IRS any banking information. We DID get a refund when I filed our 2018 taxes, but when I go to the IRS site to track where our stimulus check is, it gives me the error message that the account information doesn't match their records. So now I'm thinking maybe they're using the banking information where our Social Security checks are deposited, even though that's not the same bank I use for refunds. I'm going to try that again later this morning to see if that works. If not, I guess I'll just have to wait for a snail mail check.
  7. A friend of mine suggested donating the money to a local food bank. I think that's an excellent idea considering the L-O-N-G lines of cars I've seen on the news waiting for food.
  8. The OP hasn't been back here since December 8, 2018, so I doubt she reads this forum any longer. You might try sending her a PM and see if she responds.
  9. When we were fulltimers, we did so in a fifth wheel. Like sushidog, we never had a problem using regular hangers and our closet was in the very front of the rig (over the pickup bed). We now have a Class C with a side closet and, again, we've had no problems with clothes falling off the hangers.
  10. WHY? You can complete the census online, so there's absolutely no reason to delay it.
  11. Commercial Mail Receiving Agent -- like the Escapees mail service. If you gave the IRS your bank account information when you filed your 2018 or 2019 taxes for auto deposit of your refund, they will use that information to auto deposit your stimulus check. If you did not receive a refund for either of those years, or you chose to receive the refund via a check sent by snail mail, then as Beerboy said, above, the IRS will have a portal where you can give them your bank account information. "The IRS does not have my direct deposit information. What can I do? In the coming weeks, Treasury plans to develop a web-based portal for individuals to provide their banking information to the IRS online, so that individuals can receive payments immediately as opposed to checks in the mail."
  12. My DH "cuts" his hair with an electric razor...what he has left of it! He's been cutting my hair since 2001.
  13. I've been using grocery pickup using apps ever since we returned home early this month...principally Fred Meyer and a regional store called Yokes. I've had very little problem with out of stock items, although I haven't ordered TP (we bought TP last fall at Costco and still have a good supply left).
  14. I don't know the answer to your question, but you can contact Winegard to find out.
  15. I'm sad to hear that many of you don't complete the forms, check all the boxes, or otherwise don't answer truthfully. For people who do genealogy, census forms can provide a wealth of information. They are not released to the public until 70 years after the census year. In 2010, the 1940 census was released. This year, the 1950 census will be released.
  16. We are not. However, we immediately place any boxes, envelopes, or other mail that can be thrown away, in the trash. We then wash our hands and wipe down the surfaces where these items were placed. Same with the newspaper...there's no way to sanitize the newspaper, but it goes in the trash once read, we wash our hands, and sanitize surfaces where it was.
  17. Death Valley's Facebook page said yesterday that, while the park is open, the Visitor's Centers will be closed.
  18. Maybe you meant this tongue-in-cheek, but I really resent this kind of remark because you're talking about ME, my husband, and many, many other Escapees who are in the vulnerable categories. I'm 74, my husband is 80 and had a quadruple bypass in 1995. I'm not ready for either of us to die!
  19. Really? With confirmed cases of COVID-19 in all states now (except Tennessee as I recall, but I'm sure it's there, too)?
  20. The solution was stupid simple -- one of the cables had come undone on the back of the control box. Not knowing that there were two cables in the back, when I looked at it, I didn't know that there was one missing. It took the tech about 5 seconds to find the problem and it didn't cost us a cent.
  21. I'm getting a message "no antenna communication." We raised the dish last night, watched programs, then stowed it again. Now, at our new location, I went to raise the antenna and got the above message. I checked all the connections inside the cabinet where the receiver and interface box reside and didn't see any problems. I pulled the fuse from the back of the box and it "appears" to be OK. We have no way to get up on the roof at the present time, so can't check for connections up there. Any ideas as to what might be wrong? We'll probably have to make an appointment at Satellite Advantage in Quartzsite if we can get in. If we can't get in, any one know of some place in the Henderson/Las Vegas area to have the system checked out? ON EDIT: We have an appointment with Satellite Advantage on Tuesday.
  22. When we first registered in South Dakota, using Alternative Resources in Sioux Falls (now a different name), we were able to do everything except register to vote. Why? Because, unknown to us, was the fact that the RV park we'd chosen to stay at was not in Minnehaha County. We had to move to a different RV park before we could register to vote.
  23. Here's information from Campendium, including GPS coordinates: https://www.campendium.com/american-girl-mine-road You can reach it from either Sidewinder Road or Ogilby Road.
  24. We're on Verizon's unlimited plan which has an actual limit of 20GB (?) per month and 15GB as a hot spot. However, we were no where near either of our limits so shouldn't have been throttled.
