  1. Dutch that is not a gauge, it is a preset open/closed valve to limit re-filling to 80% of total volume.
  2. In Indiana it is legal to drive an ORV, or golf cart, in any town/city that approves them, and on county roads during daylight hrs; However the state doe not allow them on state roads, nor to cross them. Owners still must display the off-road red triangle banner on the long rod. I have no plans to leave the state with one. I've decided to shop around and look at different brands since the company may disappear in the future.
  3. If you have an extended service contract, it will not replace/repair anything that is not OEM from the factory.
  4. Assuming you, like me have a manual awning(mine is Carefree of Colorado), yes, material will keep unwinding until fully unrolled. If you move the ratcheting locking lever to the store position it will not unroll any further, however it will roll-up and put pressure on the locking braces. Keep in mind, melting snow becomes ice overnight, and is much heavier than snow. Had that happen to an slide topper awning once, had to stay an extra night so sun would melt the ice and I could retract the slide. Now I put a cheap beach ball under the topper awning so snow melt runs off instead of pooling.
  5. Man have I ever blundered this one_, I thought it was the real deal. Sorry for wasting forum space folks.
  6. Notice the trucking company name on the doors? The cost might have been eligible to amortize/write-off the books as advertising expense. An aside, many years ago- 1998, an OTR independent trucker showed his 1,000HP daily driver. He said when towing an empty trailer he could spin the tires at 40 MPH. I would've hated to pay his fuel bills.
  7. You may ascertain if you have a plumbing leak by using your water pump. Make sure every water outlet is off, water heater drain and over-pressure valve is not leaking, turn on water pump, after it stops running, watch and listen for the pump to short-cycle = turn on for a second then off. If it does not turn on for 30 minutes you do not have a water leak in your plumbing or pump. You know the rest.
  8. I always utilized the automatic changeover feature of the regulator when we owned trailers. There is no doubt when it switches over, the green band begins to turn red as pressure begins to drop. Not checking the regulator is directly on the owner/occupants.
  9. I'll second that! The widespread warnings to never drive into flooded roads, likely makes the driver into a criminal, as deaths occured. "The woman made it to the other shore"; leaves serious questions to be answered.https://www.cbsnews.com/news/tonto-basin-2-children-dead-after-being-swept-away-in-arizona-floodwaters-1-still-missing-2019-11-30/
  10. Thanks for the info. Sad part is, a John Deere Gator costs just as much today. Does anyone remember Ford designed the Jeep look?
  11. Ya, since March, I just hadn't seen any reference to in on the forums. It's expensive, however it is built like no other ORV.
  12. The Mahrinda Roxor ORV has hit the market; made in Detroit Michigan!
  13. That may be a possibility, NAS Key West now requires reservations during the peak season they are so busy. In case it pertains to you, NASKW has a little-known section for flag officer rank only.
  14. I bought 18'' direct replacement LED bulbs at WM for $5 ea., didn't even have to remove the ballast. The have a yellow cast to them, however they look good in the living room area, very easy on the eyes. WM mus have screwed-up because when I returned for more, none there.
  15. I took a box of the old spiral-type bulbs to the recycle center, they told me to put them in my trash basket, as there was no one to send them too. BTW those have a small amount of mercury in them, just like tubular florescent bulbs.
  16. IMO factory LED headlamps do not blind oncoming traffic, it's the after-market replacement LED bulbs in incandescent headlamp assemblies that blind me, and everyone else that's meeting the vehicle. The old incandescent reflectors are not designed for the LED bulbs. Our Lincoln MKX had OEM LED headlamps, when I pulled up to our white garage door there was a definitive line where the illumination stopped, no beam scatter whatsoever. There was no reflection off the white door to catch my eyes either.
  17. Thanks for the catch! My fault for attempting to do 3 things at once.
  18. Welcome to Escapees.com discussion forums! That stem positioning is unusual, but not unheard of; There are stem extensions sold to enable you to adjust air pressure, they even have 180° extensions but I doubt you'll require them. That is not the only company selling these, shop around for the best pricing. These are not the ideal situation, as they add another possible air leak to the arrangement, and allow the pressure monitor to move/vibrate more, which weakens the valve stem. When you have the opportunity, have permanent valve stems with the correct bend in them+ stabilizer grommets, to point outward, they are expensive and well worth the money IMO. Please do not hesitate to ask any question, that's how people learn, everyone here was a beginner at one point.
  19. What you said about large vehicles and downtown Key West is right, I was driving my dually towing our40' 5er, missed the turn to the Navy CG and wound up on Duval street. Thankfully there are a lot of courteous drivers there who gave me room to maneuver corners until I reached the correct street corner.
  20. Check out Larry and Penny Thompson Memorial park and campground on the West side of Miami. We stayed there for a few days when we were en-route to Key West. Use Google maps to view the CG layout, it is very clean and neat, other campers are cordial and friendly. Key West, since I'm retired military we stayed/dry camped at the navy CG for a month on the island of Key West. Other than the Navy there is no camping on the island, you must stay on one of the upper islands. They have become so busy, reservations are required now. The island is so busy during winter months you can get around quicker on a bicycle/scooter than an auto., and much easier to find a parking place.

    Brakes Frozen

Your comment "other than squealing" is a dead giveaway that the drums were rusted between drum and shoes as well as heavier rust on each side of each shoe. Your assumption is correct, the spring brakes will lose pressure and activate over time. The only preventative measure that works is frequent use.
  22. No going out at night to switch cylinders, just use the auto-changeover feature of the gas valve. Check LP supply level indicator before leaving the CG next morning and refill the empty.(if one is empty)
  23. Since ronandlaine are retired military, there is nothing better for less money on the commercial market than the Medicare/TRICARE combination. There are 2 things that combination does not cover, corrective vision and dental-which are extra- payment is in the form of a monthly deduction from your retirement pay. TRICARE contracts Express-Scripts for prescription drug administration. There is no need to purchase a 2nd prescription drug insurance. No-one will ever find a comparable plan for less money.
  24. Exactly what I was thinking. Phoenix is a warm climate, butane is normally sold where lows normally do not get below freezing; North TX is freezing temps in winter. When he gets to Florida it will probably begin working again. His present situation requires topping off the tank with propane, and/or wrapping a 120VAC pipe heat tape around the tank/cylinder and powering with the genset while driving, of course when on shore power an extension cord supplies power.
