  1. I agree; then he could be just reading replies and trying the suggestions as he comes to them. The 12V solenoids on the gas valve are grounded to the valve body, so tapping could have disturbed corrosion enough to somewhat reconnect a ground. When I was working on my water heater, I counted 5 possible grounding sources/issues. My reply was not my opinion, everything described is contained in that Atwood service/training manual.

That has been tried, USPS rejected the "package". A prepaid envelope must meet USPS specific criteria.
  3. #14; When cast iron dutch oven baking, biscuits especially, put most heat on top of the lid, little underneath the kettle. When using charcoal, 5 well burning briquets on top, 3 underneath. This makes one quickly understand the need for a lid lifter too. BU system; mine is wired into the ignition switch, when key is on or acc.. positions, camera and monitor work. This allows the driver to continuously monitor the condition of tow-bar, safety cables, and connected wiring to towed; as well as watch front wheels of towed when starting out to double check you unlocked steering wheel-and drive wheels of towed are turning. Plus, when you turn of MH lights, you can see if towed lights do too.
  4. The board, like the gas valve, seldom goes bad. Atwood even states that in their service and repair manual. The most common cause of flame failure is corroded ground surfaces. I just went through all this last month, after hours of testing and probing, I re-cleaned all my mounting surfaces and plug-in connections. I think the control board connections were corroded, I used a pencil eraser to clean them This time it lit and worked properly. I have ran our water heater from cold to shut-off 3X since then and it has worked as designed every time. IF you wish to test the gas valve solenoids, they should show 40-50 ohms - EACH. Both must open to allow gas to flow. The control board testing procedure is really quite simple if you have a multimeter, or continuity meter. It goes like this" " ValveTrack Test Voltmeter Red probe on 'edge connector' valve track where Red wire would be Voltmeter Black probe on 'edge connector' ground track where Green wire would be NO continuity....circuit board bad" Or you can opt to buy/borrow a circuit board testing unit as described and pictured (pg 17)in the service manual. I cannot take credit for the above, I was sent the information by an acquaintance.
  5. We were on track for a 2016 trek, however DW was in a wreck that nearly killed her in Feb. '16. She has never fully-recovered enough to withstand any long trip.

Their business model is education for seniors, and to make money to do so by endorsing various companies selling something, these companies pay a "royalty" or offer discounts to AARP to use their name and logo. The minimum age to join is 50 with a full membership, however, an associate membership has no age restriction, while receiving the same benefits. An alternate organization is AMAC. Back to the original topic, how to stop junk mail. The most direct method is to phone AARP and direct them to remove your mailing address from their vendors address list. Another source of reducing junk mail is https://thedma.org/accountability/dma-choice/
  8. I just tried to look up a nearby location via their website, turns out the nearest location webpage is ran by an insurance company: Tivity Health, Inc. I sure don't need another insurance company with my personal data.
  9. Our last experience with a comercial washer/dryer store was in Clewiston FL. DW opened the lid of a washer and a BIG spyder crawled out. That was it; DW grabbed me by the ear, I was still holding the clothes basket, and we left. As soon as we got in the truck she said " that's it, you're going to put a washer/dryer in our 5er. You know the rest of the story.
  10. Yea, getting it out of the cabinet will be a major task for our coach. When it was installed, It appears the techs made it a "press-fit". I put that part# in my MH appliance file, thanks.
  11. Whatever the price is this year, I keep remembering 2012 prices. We were paying ~$6/G (diesel) U.S.A.equivalent in Canada. Alaska wasn't much less.
  12. I agree, the criteria he has stated makes a carport the best choice by far. The AZ heat under a cloth covering IMO would cause damage to the RV roof. Here in the hill country of Indiana I have only used a cheap plastic farm tarpaulin to cover my RV's with 3X the number of elastic tie-downs. I never did notice any wear/scuff marks on a trailer, but the on/off routine was strenuous and lengthy, and became more so every year older I got. I'd hate to think of doing that monthly when using the RV. I finally had a 60'X40'X15' pole barn erected and poured a concrete floor inside; total price = $26K.
  13. 🤣 Yep, gotta be a farmer or rancher to understand.
  14. The brings up an important point; I now forget whether I gave SafeRide my chassis VIN or my coach serial number. I must call and ask which they have on file, and which is required.
  15. Depending upon the trailer hitch you buy, a TT can tow just as easily as a 5er today; of course these trailer hitches are costly, but you pay for what you receive.
  16. During the sign-up process, for verification it asks for your mobile phone #(which I do not have) or your verification code be sent by mail; I opted to receive mine by mail. The letter I received with my code also says: "The invitation code listed above can be used up to five times by anyone 18 years of age or older who resides at your physical address. Please note that for your privacy and security this invitation code corresponds to your address only and should not be used by anyone who does not reside at this address. This code will expire on 02/07/2020."
  17. Many websites sell compartment door sealing gaskets, just pick your type.
  18. Got signed in/up finally. I received my 20 digit verification code by snail-mail Friday. Each individual at the same address may use the verification code-up to 5 people, to create their own mail hold or informed delivery.
  19. FWIW, The Dutchmen factory service center in N. Indiana does excellent work. We took our Grand Junction 5er there for repair to a slide mechanism. They found a bent arm, and replaced the entire assembly at no charge to us. The service center manager said it was a factory defect. Our 5er was 3 yrs old at the time. They have electric only parking spots available outside the factory. We stayed overnight in our 5er, and early next morning they took it inside for repairs/replacements.
  20. One must exercise care when using the jumper to induce the ice maker to operate, more than 15-16 seconds may burn out the heater element in the ice maker tray.
  21. This may be what you want: https://www.5thwheeltruckrental.com/ They used to rent the trucks to individuals.
  22. The bags and a vacuum cleaner are all that is required to keep clothes safe from mold and mildew. (well, they must be dry initially) Plus, it reduces storage area required. All our off-season clothes and shoes will fit in one 40G plastic tub ea. this way.
  23. Guess I'm odd man out. I bought 2, 10' Camco water hoses (SST ends) in 2005, still using them. Of course they get a bath/ submerged in a bleach solution for 24 hrs 2X every year.
  24. Dicor has a remedy, which may be read at: https://dicorproducts.com/faq/#petroleum-distillates If you desire a specific answer to your issue, there is a place to ask it on the Dicor website, it's called "ask Rudy".. The most common cause is someone using a product containing petroleum distillates on the EPDM material. That webpage tells you how to identify this. That may not be the cause though, another cause is the EPDM material being laid before the glue is ready.
  25. It isn't a done-deal yet. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/winnebago-industries-acquire-premium-rv-113000321.html Winnebago held a live discussion on Sep.16. https://www.marketwatch.com/press-release/winnebago-industries-to-acquire-premium-rv-manufacturer-newmar-2019-09-16
