  1. I just reviewed the video 2x again, I missed a bunch of details the first 2x, probably still missing many. Like the semi-trailer hit 2 cars from behind while leaving the roadway, before overturning. The truck driver, who was driving too fast for conditions, was unaware of the previous crash until it was too late to slow/stop.I did not seen any warning devices in use from the previous crash, even in that dense fog; not even on the parked cruiser in the video. Trucker did not have his lights on, he only had driving lights on, which do not normally connect to marker or tail lights or headlights. Can't speak about TX, but in Indiana that is illegal. The current prevalent climate of the trucking industry may have contributed to the 2nd crash, hire young drivers and push them to meet optimistic delivery dates while adhering to the ELD.
  2. Even the car, and the truck N camper, drivers were idiots, driving in dense fog with no lights on. Semi driver driving to fast for conditions could not see car with no lights on. Looks like the guy in the yellow raincoat was the only one with their brain engaged.
  3. As that Escapees article points out, it(vehicle service contract) resembles a copy of a health insurance plan. Would you forgo buying health insurance, opting instead to set aside a fixed amount monthly? Of course that is over-stating the question, but you see the point. BTW, our MH had been parked in a barn for 6 years prior to our purchase. Non-use is very hard on a vehicle, thus the ESC.
  4. Sounds grim for the cannibus industry: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-12-17/pot-firms-grim-reality-cash-crunch-no-u-s-bankruptcy-access DW is a regular customer of Procana, they expanded this year, hope they are well financially.
  5. My experience. When we bought this MH from CW, we also purchased an extended service contract (by law it is not a warranty). The price was rather high, deductible was $50 per visit-not per incident.During the 3-yr contract it paid for itself-including deductibles. All repairs were on the coach, none on the chassis. If you decide to purchase an extended service contract, TwoToes offered excellent advice. I will add, be sure to purchase the add-on for gaskets and seals. Otherwise if a gasket or seal fails, allowing oil to leak out and cause an engine or transmission failure, nothing is covered. There is a man on a different RV forum who is presently out nearly $50,000 for 3 repairs on a Cummins X15,IMO a troublesome engine. I'd stay away from any MH with that engine. BTW, he had no ESC. Wholesalewarranties.com is a reputable company, I have never read any negative comments on any RVing forums. They have specific requirements prior to selling an extended service contract, to protect both parties.
  6. It is logical to assume ANY reciprocating engine will wear out faster when operating at maximum capacity vs lighter usage.
  7. Sometimes the rubber seal in the spring combo canister will get a pin hole it it, which may leak enough to partially apply the brake. I suspect your new spring canister will solve the problem.
  8. As previously recommended, obtain actual weights, do not depend upon mfgr. published weights to be actual. A four-corner weight would be best. This Goodyear document (pg9) shows how: https://www.goodyearrvtires.com/pdfs/tire-care-guide.pdf
  9. March is still snowbird season. I would negotiate with the RV park management for a reduced rated while your trailer is unoccupied; everything else will be full.

  11. I vote for old John's #3 comment. If the start and run caps test good, move to his next suggestion. re: that fan, if you can feel ANY sideways movement in the shaft, the bushing is shot. This allows the armature to contact the windings = new motor.
  12. You are right, my waste valves are behind steel panels, front, side, and bottom. Water tank drain valve is 32" from nearest access, and only one arm at a time in the opening. If I remember correctly the total for replacing those 3 valves was over $1,400 including the special Winnebago cable valves.. I was sure glad we had the ESC. BTW, I also carry a twist-on valve, JIC.
  13. Haven't located slide-in-a-track covers, I do remember seeing them; these use suction cups: https://www.rvquickshades.com/rv-tire-cover-kit-50w-x-46h/ Leaves no marks, nothing on the MH exterior when not using shades.

  15. Yea, I guess this is all moot anyway. All I know about banks is, money in-money out when needed. I used the wrong word, should have said chartered but couldn't think of the correct terminology. I was talking about a federal credit union( Naval Surface Warfare Center FCU). Non-governmental was used for that reason. We receive forwarded mail from my nationwide bank, Linda does not receive forwarded mail from her FCU when we are on the road. Per her FCU customer service dept., they have different requirements. The USPS said by regulation they cannot forward her FCU mail. Can I prove this, don't need to, it happens to us every time we direct the USPS to forward our mail. Enough of that. Merry Christmas to everyone on the forum!
  16. LindaH, federal bank/credit union requirements are different than non-government licensed banks. That was explained to my Linda by her FCU. I suspect your are right about the business address for an individual matter.
  17. We have that threat growing in S. Florida today, pythons are expanding exponentially in the everglades, they have no natural predator to hunt them. One was killed with a 4' alligator inside.
  18. Derek I'm still kicking myself for not getting in back when you recommended Tesla to everyone. My parents were adults during the great depression, their " lessons learned" rubbed off on us kids. My present mutual funds are doing very well though.

Those operators are sold on the website I linked, you must look for them on the hardware pages. There is a left and right hand operator. Choose the one that looks like yours by the mounting hole pattern and shaft position. pg 7 It those are not like yours, look at all the different brands on Amazon, they are more expensive than my first link though.
  20. I don't know your banks name or status, however federal credit union correspondence mail cannot be forwarded by law; that's what the USPS and DW's federal credit union told her. She must file a change of address with the FCU stating the new end-point mailing address.

  22. Exactly. When DW says she will shower, I turn on both 120VAC and LP heating elements in my 10G Atwood. She usually takes a 20' shower, never have heard her complain of running out of hot water. The low-flow shower head device has a lot to do with that. Of course this is on FHU only.
  23. We re-financed our house to buy the MH, mortgage is 3.5%, which is much less than RV financing. We then doubled up on mortgage payments, with the 2nd going to principal only. Were we not financially responsible this may have not been a good idea.
  24. An RV is a recreational vehicle, technically if you enjoy driving a dirt bike through the woods, that is a recreational vehicle. Get my drift_.
  25. Your thinking is correct, until you factor in, as compressed hot air enters the tank it cools, which condenses most of humidity/ water vapor, which falls out as liquid and settles on the bottom of the tank, waiting to be drained away. The water filter catches all but a tiny bit of the rest As someone said back a bit, the humidity level of air entering the compressor is simultaneously compressed, making the tank of compressed air have a corresponding higher level of humidity. I wish I was more eloquent, but that's the best I can explain the results.
