  1. Good reports Based on limited travel the last year, but on based on my last two years I tend to agree with the usnews report. If I grade just the interstate highways the reason report appears to follow thoughts. Clay hoping to hit about 15 states in the next 6 months
  2. Your saying 4 of 5 devices are saying you are level and the fifth is the most trustworthy to me. Liquid will seek level. Have you checked you 9 inch against a look longer level or do self check. Check a flat surface.. Note position of the bubble, turn the level end for end and place in the same spot. If the level gives the same position, the level is good. Is your refrigerator shelves level . Clay
  3. I considered a Redwood a number of years ago but don't remember why I chose a DRV but I think the Redwood dealer was a pushing to much. I quick comments on those two models and that may be negative comments. Why is the Fresh water tank so small compared to Grey tank. The rear of the RV is part of roughest ride, Imagine how you kitchen items will travel. I didn't see the suspension but if your getting big unit consider the MORryde I.S. suspension option as it eliminates the axles and leaf springs. Final comment and it applies to all manufactures with full time use. Will you be satisfied with recliners and soda? Clay pulling and STOPPING 20,000 pound RV with a MDT (Class 5)
  4. One item not addressed is the utility connection. If your in an existing RV or stick built home you may not have electric or gas capacity to run tankless heater. If your buying new with the tankless installed, there should be no problem. Then for the RV, the only problem may be pulling into a RV Park with out adequate Electric Service. I'm a firm believer in Tankless water heater operating on propane or Natural gas. Example; my daughters live in a southern climate where water heater are located in the attic. The amount of water drawn to do anything requiring warm water is time wasted. The Tankless WH on the first floor is a real water saver.
  5. Did you sit in the Cab? It is an awesome machine. Clay Been there summer of 2018
  6. Another Museum I really enjoyed is at South Bend, IN Studebaker National Museum Also called the; www.historymuseumSB.org Clay
  7. Thanks for the Info. Did you have to make a reservation? That crossing is on my Bucket List Hopefully 2022. I would like to visit the Ford Museum and continue to the Northwest. Clay 2015 FL Sports Chassis, 2016 DRV 38PS3
  8. Very interesting. I don't follow the Badges shown on my Profile page. I have 3 badges where Chalkie has 5 badges. There seems to be up to 14 difference badges. Just like TV programs tune in next week for another part of the story Clay Joined May 23, 2014
  9. Not full time but normally put 5-7,000 miles annually, except last year 1300 miles. This year the plan is 4,000 mile if the doctor's release us. Camping in 7-9 states, mostly between Texas and MN & WI. If my wife didn't have a home in Illinois, we would be making a bigger figure 8 and most likely hit closer to 9 - 10,000 miles per year. I did drive 10 hours one day to get ahead of a ice storm once but then rested. Normally 7-8 hour and nothing after dark. Sure beats Planes, Rental cars and Motels Clay
  10. I knew it was to good to be true. I received this message this morning. So now I back looking anywhere now for a TM700 Blank. From KeyME Support: During the quality assurance review of your KeyMe order, it was discovered that your key cannot be copied at this time. Your key type looks very similar to one that we do support, and unfortunately the kiosk didn't make that distinction when scanning your key. I sincerely apologize for the confusion - we have, of course, fully refunded your transaction
  11. A year or so ago I ruined a key. I wasn't in a hurry for replacement due to the Covid-19, I searched via phone and internet for someone within 75 miles with the blank with no luck. Today I when into Menards and found a self service kiosks that can make all type of key. Stuck my key in the slot and followed directions. My specialty keys will sent to me in 3-5 days. The Kiosks has "Key Me " at the top. https://www.key.me/ Clay
  12. Your picture is enough to generate more questions. In the bottom half there are 4 devices. Two have white labels and two with white print What are these devices? Do you know what devices each fuse serves? Do you measure 12 volts at any of the fuses, both when the engine running and not running? WRKNRVR has you and the right path. It will should be a simple fix but location, location. Clay
  13. You say this device is Toast, In what way? One of the pictures shows the red wired device wired in the circuit with the new black jumper. The black device appears to be a fuse ( or a relay minus a third wire), is it good? Looking at the size wire that is spliced into indicates that may be part of a relay coil circuit. Some switch (may be close to the door) would have to be turned ON to close a relay contact. I say this believing that when you had the engine on everything worked. (While ignition was running all lights worked inside, water pump, hood fan, etc etc. However, within seconds of the ignition being turned off they all died again.) If the ignition switch is in ACC position, do the DC lights work? Find the fuse panel that protect the inside lights, water pump, & etc, and you should have good clue to farther your troubleshooting, Clay
  14. As I read your post, you lose me. Was it just batteries you replaced or did you add solar also? I imagine your 2800 watt invertor was added sometime since 2003 since you reference the old convertor under the fridge. Are you using a voltmeter to help your troubleshooting? (two types of lighting, ceiling fans, water pump, water heater, hood fan and none of them work) seems that these some of these items may be run from the second convertor. Not being fully aware of what really has been done, my guess your your opportunity is the 2800 watt invertor area. Are you saying the BIG black cables from the back of the 2800 invertor may not wired correctly? Do you have more 2 BIG cables on the invertor. BE CAREFUL WENT WORKING AROUND BATTERIES AS MAKING THE WRONG CONNECTOIN CAN CAUSE AN EXPLOSION OR FIRE. Clay
  15. My truck is not licensed in Colorado but for insurance purposes I'm insured as a Motor Home. Maybe your insurance company can help with some back up materials. Clay 2015 Sport Chassis
  16. Where you located. This appears to be a job that is not impossible for the shade tree mechanic but extremely hard without a pit because my arms are not long enough laying under neath. The truck bed makes it more difficult but not impossible. Clay
  17. Have you found a fix? Do you have the replacement parts or is that part of the problem. 4 years ago, Sportchassis replaced mine after Freightliner couldn't find the leak. Of course that Freightliner service shop had some other problems. Clay 2015 Sportschassis M2 106 only drove less than 2300 miles last year.
  18. Is that 4000 miles or X months whichever comes first. I have been told by salespeople saying using straight nitrogen is better as it is the Oxygen that leaks off when the 78-21 mixture is used. But I have a little environmentalist in my blood, I hate the thought and using straight Nitrogen and having a blowout. That could up-set 78-21% balance. Clay I lay awake night worrying about my Oxygen may be leaking off. LOL
  19. In NW Illinois I have been paying $30 or nearly $40 to fill a 40# tank. Same price no matter if the tank is empty or half full. Big difference in overhead between fellow living in his RV near buying and a Big Box store. Years ago, I use to track wholesale energy prices versus BTU. Some fuels was more violable to price swings ( like gasoline) than other energy. But using a rolling average Electric was the most stable in price due to a lot of regulation. Coal was steady but seasonal demand did effect Gasoline, Propane, Oils (diesel included) all about the same percent change per BTU . On the retail side the cost of handling, delivery and taxes can differ. Clay
  20. I'm not into Travel Trailer, started with a small 50 years ago. I did a quick comparison of the three you listed. All would great and all have difference limitations which I'm sure have considered. Most importantly you are considering the TT before you decide how your going pull it. The Black series in my estimation mayrequire a heavier vehicle to pull and STOP than the Oliver. Clay
  21. When forum post appeared I wandered what was happening. Thanks for your input. I remember the construction delays a number of years ago when widening the roadway. So with that memory and since I'm coming from the north I will taking route 19 south from Dyersburg TN. Clay

  23. John your statement you just purchased your first RV and all you have to monitor is voltage leaves a lot of questions going forward. You stated you have a generator and a method to charge your batteries. Is the generator built into the RV or a separate unit. Like wise is the battery charger a separate unit or built in. Most individual battery chargers have a amp meter indicating the amount of charge going into the batteries and it tapers down as the batteries charge. If you have a built-in invertor/convertor it may have available a remote that could be used to provide more battery condition. You came to one of many places for answers. Tell us what you need and give up feed back. Happy Camping, Clay
  24. X2 We bought Lambright through "RV's for Less". I ordered our 2016 MS from "RV's for Less" withoiut a couch or recliners. The empty RV was taken by Lambright and the furniture was installed before continuing to TN. All the pieces went through the front door. The furniture is still as comfortable as it was in Nov 2015 and I sat in it today. Of course we are not full timers but until 11 months ago we did spend 8 of every 12 month on the Lambright product.
