  1. Welcome and my first first question is how are you using it? I'm thinking your younger having to sleep 6. That stated I betting weekend or 1-2 weeks trip. Either will fit the need. If your going to live in the RV a Class A may have a little more storage at a higher front end cost. Often the difference between a good RV and a bad RV often is the Dealer. Will any dealer honor your warranty? Clay
  2. I have read some reports that ancestral DNA results can only be found from hair only with the roots. I have a clipping (no roots known) of my mothers hair that could be 100 years old. Anyone have knowledge or results taken from hair clipping.. What firm or company does this. I have been told that maybe Heritage may have worked with hair but I didn't contact anyone. Now I have renewed interest as the hair is readily available. Clay
  3. Growing OLD isn't so bad. It's the crap that comes with it.
  4. Go for the planned trip. I was 68 years old when my wife of over 44 years passed away suddenly. We had a 5000 mile trip planned to start 6 weeks later. I couldn't take that specific trip till 2 years later and made it a 7200 mile trip without a schedule except three dates. The first date was the day I crossed the Mississippi River heading West. The other dates were birthdays in Montana and Texas (that was added after I left Oregon). Talking to the local people, took me on side trips with little publicized wonders. They were the highlights of trip. That trip was in a little Class C and since pulling my second fifth wheel. Lots years have passed since my having a tent and a 14 foot travel trailer, now, a little planning keeps me away low bridges and tight places buying fuel. Plan your day around avoiding rush hour traffic and such. Happy travels Clay
  5. Welcome to the Forum A couple questions, isn't -3 Celsius around 27 Fahrenheit or definitely below freezing. What is your source of power to the Tank Heaters. My tank heaters are powered from batteries so a very limited source of heat. I assuming your not connected to any power when stored but if warms up during day you could be OK with the slides in and water drained. What I do with those marginal conditions is open all facets (pump off) and open your low point drains. A little bit of travel will help. Don't forget your water heater. Your waste tanks if drained has lots of expansion room for ice expansion but fixtures do not. Clay
  6. As seasonal people and for the same reasons Kirk, we received our 2nd booster Wednesday. Also Dept of Public Health official told us "MOM, get you boosters before coming home" Clay
  7. Your info is common sense and possibilities of increased security. I don't like all my eggs in one basket. With more cash back being paid by credit card users, more business's that I frequent are giving cash discounts. A mom & pop restaurant gives 5% so I encouraged to use more CASH Clay
  8. Makes you wonder if the ink is dry on their 20's? $100 bills have never been a problem for me. Where are you located? Clay
  9. I have Dometic power awning and had not problem with the hardware. Dometic says the intend of the awning is purely shade not protection from rain. That is the way they built them as water comes through their stitching. Carefree hardware is my problem in that, the roll-up reel bends to allow water to accumulate in a pool. The more water that accumulates, the more the reel bends allowing more water to be stored. You can imagine what happens when something happens the causes the water to move. From the inside it sounds like a good dairy cow taking a Pee. You hoped no one was standing near by. I experienced this first hand in Mesa AZ when the air-conditionor condensate ran to the slide awning. Clay
  10. And may you have a good day with good results. Clay
  11. Thanks for the link There is many choices. Clay
  12. I'm need of new fabric and a sunscreen material is what I looking for, Any links? Randy I agree with you 100%. Personally if I'm on top, it is crawling. I had three slide awning ordered to be installed by dealer over 6 years ago. I would not recommend Carefree, a center support is needed on longer toppers. My shortest topper is noisy now but the wind-up spring has never been tightened. Clay
  13. Good Point, I had that problem years ago and told I had a invalid address. Clay
  14. I've had rejects from Best Buy and more recently an insurance company. The disappointment is you can't find out why. Both cases, I paid with another source. I used my wife's credit card at Best buy and sent a check to the Insurance co. Never had a problem with Wal-Mart. Clay
  15. It is good that your considering the options. One thing I haven't seem discussed here is the individual tire loading. Where I'm going the actual load of the left or right side. I don't recall the exact numbers but for example I had about 12% more weight GVWR on the ODS than the DS of the Fifth Wheel. GVWR was 16,000 with 2,000 on the pin. Two 7,000# would seem OK but the in reality I had 8,000# on the ODS and 6,000# on the DS. Tires on the ODS didn't last long and was really stressed when in a cross-wind hitting the door-side. Under that condition a stouter axles would be a winner. Individual tire weights are important and sometimes the way you load the RV can change the unbalance but I like a full freezer. Clay I now a 20,000# RV with 5,000 on pin and last check had balanced weights on the 4 tires on the ground.
  16. I don't know about your specific problem but last night, 10:45 PM, I had Sat 110 "on" watching the RFD channel 231. The TV screen would go black for maybe a second or the display had errors. I switched to channel 205 not problem. In the old analog days I would have called the channel 231 problem AFC (automatic Freq Control) or operating in a fringe area. I watching on the Wally receiver connected to the Pathway X2 secondary port. Clay
  17. Over 3 years ago I bought the X2 with a second 211 receiver because in Illinois the trees had grown taller preventing getting 3 satellite in the western arc. I had no problems using two 211 received. Summers we use the eastern arc and winter from Central Texas on the western arc. It was only this winter that I tried use the Wally with the 211. Prior to that the Wally was only used with a Tailgater.
  18. Anyone using 221z and a Wally receivers. My primary port receiver w/hard drive is the 211z and the secondary port is a Wally which has a mind of its own. The Wally on the Sec port of the antenna will not reboot to the Satellite that the primary is watching. Especially to Sat 129. Dish Customer Service (and from one of better Tech's) says the Wally needs to the primary, and the DUMB (my word) 221z will reboot. It seems the Wally on the Sec port looks for three Satellites and not being in control stops and fails to load any programs. The tech says I need two Wallys or 211s. With 2-211s no problem as I have operated years that way. I did talk to the tech how two Wally's could work together when the Sec port couldn't find the 3 satellites. No direct answer but he had had heard of any problems. Wally user's any similar problems? My case is the Sec Port goes to the Bedroom Wally receiver and often the program watched on the Pri antenna Port can be watched on the Sec port. Or the case could be to 2 difference programs on the same satellite but, when ever, just reboot the receiver on the Sec port and after a few minutes the signal is acquired. That scenario, Wally goes to never-never land. The AV TV connection only solves some of the problems Hate having to start hauling another satellite antenna around. Clay
  19. My first thought would be someone at the Escapees office was able somehow to see my credit card number. From my experience, I believe people at motels desk are suspects. I was at Del Rio about 15 years ago when the clerk wanted different ID's to verify my Visa. When he wanted to make a copy of my Drivers license and another picture ID I said NO and I took his picture. Another motel in Kansas, the fellow had trouble used my card so he said. Finally he called asking for another card which he didn't get. The next day I called the credit company and that morning a couple items had been purchased by a east coast individual, They are among us. Clay
  20. AZTEX I have read this post with interest over the last couple days and I wonder which Escapee's Mail Service your using. Mail Scanning is an optional add-on is available only to Mail Forwarding Service subscribers in Categories B and C. Category A is receiving everything and no Scanning or sorting. I use have used Plan A in the past but over the past few years choose receive First Class mail and a few magazines. The Escapee Personnel have been great. I have ton's of problems with a Medical Supply and I would like to think Escapee Mail Service has helped me train the medical supply office about my addresses. Clay
  21. Thanks for the update, I wonder what the house number problem is, or is part of the age limitations? Clay
  22. Question on the height of rig. If over 13'6", don't you have to get a permit and the permit would tell the route you will follow. I would get somebody to verify height.
  23. A few years ago,we run the opposite direction but not a bad pull or push . Rifle to Craig is good. I prefer going East to Steamboat Spring, then Walden CO on to Laramie and Cheyenne, WY. A couple great State Parks between Rifle and Steamboat. Clay
