  1. This would take some digging but I'm pretty sure BattleBorn sources the individual cells from China, tests them to get a matched set, and installs them in their own case. Probably some other manufacturers do the same but many of them are just buying complete batteries from overseas, China mainly.
  2. Not disputing any of this except to say that my RZR 570 weighs about 1000# and is 50" wide.
  3. I've been using CBD oil sublingually for 3 years now for pain associated with 2 torn discs (L4/5). Before I was taking advil daily. I also have nerve ablations yearly for the pain. Using CBD has dramatically improved my pain and activity level. May not work for everyone but it does for me. Tried gummies I bought at Qsite then tried CBD balm but find the oil works best. But it does take a few weeks for it to become effective.
  4. It's very difficult to research a topic on a FB group compared to a forum. IMO that's why you see people asking the same question repeatedly. Then there are the numerous irrelevant postings. Guess I'm one of the oldsters that like to do the research myself rather than relying on people that I have no idea if they have any clue about what they're talking about. On a forum it's pretty easy to see if a person offering advise knows of what they speak.
  5. I previously had a 1998 Newell and recently a 1999 Foretravel. Both were in very good condition and the paint looked new and I never had a problem at any campground or RV resort. Occasionally had to email a picture and was accepted without question. IMO campgrounds (RV resorts) either want to limit rough looking RV's that might need repairs, or they are actually true RV Resorts that are limiting their clientele to recent high valued RV's.
  6. But aren't those who are "camping" in areas not designated as camping spots and are dumping their waste in non approved dump stations causing a problem for those of us who follow the rules? That in my opinion is the problem.
  7. Mother nature changes gradually and rapidly. Us humans just try to contain and slow down the changes. Not always successfully. Living along the lower Mississippi it has been a battle to contain the river inside the manmade levees. Mother nature will win at some point.
  8. Get a MVUM map so you'll know what roads/trails you can go on with your jeep. Should be an office in or near Durango.
  9. A 45' motorhome can't turn as sharply as a 5th wheel can so you might want to consider that when designing your pads and access to them.
  10. When we took our 2019 trip the other couple we planned to travel with had to cancel last minute. We thought about postponing it until 2020 and so glad we didn't. We took off by ourselves and only had 2 reservations: a week in Denali and a few days over the 4th. We joined the Facebook group RVin to Alaska which gave us a feeling of belonging if we had any trouble. I also agree the upper BC and Yukon territories were the most scenic part of our trip. A couple tips: bring an axe to split wood if you plan to stay in Provincial parks (you should!) they provide free firewood but you'll need to split it or scavenge when someone leaves. And don't overlook having solar, our 400 watts kept our Foretravel fully charged due to the long daylight hours and we didn't have to conserve our electric usage. Also don't follow the crowds. When we got near Whitehorse we decided to stay in Carcross instead. Had a wonderful experience there in a not crowded campground. This blog post has a bit of info about Carcross: http://finallynewellin.blogspot.com/2019/06/short-detour.html The feeling driving across the Yukon is one of total isolation. It is remote and gorgeous. You'll only see a few other vehicles and few small settlements. Enjoy your trip!
  11. and always have an out. Had the Smith driving system for 27 years and defensive driving does work. One thing they did teach us is that sometimes you have to be slightly aggressive to avoid a dangerous situation.
  12. I'll go against the grain here with my and DW's experiences. Back in Feb. 2020 we both had covid before much was known about it. Our symptoms were all of what was later to be known as covid. We had bad coughs and fatigue for a few weeks but fortunately recovered with no problems. We masked and quarantined that first year. Then last summer at a family trip we were exposed to Delta by a family member (DW and I were the only ones who weren't vaxed). We had a cough similar to a sinus infection for a couple weeks but no other problems. Two of the family including the one who exposed us were much sicker than us. At Christmas we were both exposed to the latest variety but didn't get any symptoms. So for us natural immunity from getting it very early has worked. We have no intention to get the vaccine. Our lifestyle is back to normal, but we aren't ones who spend much time in crowded areas. Our summers are spent in the Colorado mountains.
  13. They're like anything else, all LiFePO4 cells are made in China. Some like Battleborn are assembled here and have great technical and warranty support. Many others are made in China and sold here by suppliers that may or may not provide that same level of support and quality control or have USA stock. Up to you what it's worth to you. You can buy "drop in ready" batteries about 1/2 the cost of Battleborn. Speaking of hail a few years ago we were north of Denver on I-25 and just missed a hail storm that dumped a foot of golf ball sized hail on the highway. A few vehicles were pulled over dinged up and windows busted out. Pulled off and less than a mile west had no hail.
  14. We watched a yearling black bear one morning toss around 8-12" diameter logs until he found one with enough ants or grubs. He proceeded to rip it apart with his claws to get at them. Impressive!
  15. If you'll be in Florida or anywhere in the southeast the early morning is the best time to clean the bugs off. The morning dew will soften them quite a bit. BTW love bugs if left on too long can pit your paint.
  16. Another source of free and low cost ebooks is Bookbub.com
  17. My DW's phone is supposed to continue working according to ATT's list and Redpocket (our provider). However she can no longer make or receive calls. Text still works. I tried her sim in my phone and same problem, my sim works ok in her phone so it appears to be a sim problem. Waiting on Redpocket to respond.
  18. And ferrules also provide stress relief if there is any vibration or movement in the wires. I used them for about 20 years when I was working.
  19. This is the one I use, showing not available on amazon but may be elsewhere. And there are other brands also. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07212XQTV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  20. I was strongly considering taking the tests and then the shots but traveling would make that difficult. My doctor gave me an Rx for Singulair. Normally taken for asthma but is used also for allergies. Remarkable results. I'll occasionally feel something allergy related but take a Zyrtec at night and have been cleared the next morning since I started the daily Singulair.
  21. 2FA is good but if you live in an area where you have to drive a couple miles to get a cell signal just to get your code then rush back and hope you can enter it before it times out....it can be a pain. These companies need to have some flexibility. Some do, others don't care. One will call our landline with the robo-code.
  22. Vlad that sounds pretty good. My Colorado cabin has quite a few trees around it but if I can get the dish on the peak of the roof it might work. Or there is a meadow nearby about 200' so that's a possibility also. I wish there was a device available that would show your signal. I've done their location app and it says it won't work. Your 46 DL speeds are much better than the 10-12 from the local DSL we have there. Thanks!
  23. Klein makes great crescent wrenches with insulated handles. I've also used shrink tubing to insulate open end wrenches, makes a cleaner job than tape. BTW wear your glasses when working around batteries!
  24. Because a membership is required to stay overnight at a Harvest Host site. Why would you want to freeload on something that requires a membership? Would you expect a Passport America participating park to give you their discount if you weren't a member?
