Cotreker
My Volvo 670 2006 does not have seat belts in the dinnet, how might I install these? Were they ever offered new with the truck? Have not seen this posted here. RickS
Hi Dennis, I installed L-track to the floor below the dinette seats and just attach L-track seat belts when I need then. Had pictures but could not find them. SuiteSuccess
Ok so someone has to be the Debbie Downer so might as well be me. Just realize that seat belts in a “sideways” position are not very protective in a crash situation which would be the original intent. As a health care professional for forty years, our spinal anatomy will handle forward and backward forces especially at the cervical level much, much better than lateral forces. Remember in “hangman’s” injuries the mechanism is snapping the neck sideways severing the spinal cord. I toyed for years adding seat belts to my cab and finally decided the optimal way would be with the dinnete in a stowed position, a back bolster making a couch, then three or four seat belts across with occupants facing forward. Never did it because grandkids had too many other events than going camping with old folks. Again just my opinion and folks can do anything they want. BTW folks always point out class A sofas. Same situation as I describe, same safety concerns. trimster
Good points and no question it's not ideal. But no restraints would be worse (and illegal in all states) for the passangers. We obviously opted for the sideways, belted position for the 3 or 4 times a year we have passengers. Cotreker
Well now I understand why the seats do not have belts in them; but then the co-pilot can sleep in the top bunk with the safety netting attached. Many thanks for the knowledge; need airbags in the back seats. The company my daughter worked for had a rule that a truck could not be moved if anyone was in the top bunk. Darryl&Rita
Assuming anything is better than nothing, and not being under manufacturer sized liability risks, if I had kids in the back, they'd have belts. There's NO regulations regarding how they're installed, which way they face, or how many there have to be. Let your conscience guide you. The only laws on any books is that each passenger seat has to have a belt. Tackleberry
I just put lap belts in my dinette! Order belts a little longer than you'll think you need. I attached the belts to the existing bolt holes in the steel under the cushion. Just remove a screw, and put it through your belt eye mount. Better than nothing. https://photos.app.goo.gl/BE1fcD9aQH4uHd1x6 Quote Hal from Long Island 2000 Volvo 770, Cummings N14, 10 Speed Eaton Auto-Shift 2016 XLR Thunderbolt 420 AMP Toy Hauler
Cotreker
This is perfect guessing you found these on Amazon. What a good looking table! Putting that on my next build list already have the lumber. Thanks for your post. Tackleberry
Cotreker, these are the ones I bought. I'd get them about 12" longer if I did it again. That way the kids can sit sideways or next to each other. These work fine for 1 person. Again, it's better than nothing and getting ejected. I made the table out of some scrap walnut I had laying around! I'm proud of it:) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009FOG8MG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Edited December 7, 2022 by Tackleberry additional info Quote Hal from Long Island 2000 Volvo 770, Cummings N14, 10 Speed Eaton Auto-Shift 2016 XLR Thunderbolt 420 AMP Toy Hauler
