LOL...that's a good one. "Sailboat fuel" caused me a moments hesitstion. But, depending on where that "fuel" was loaded, in some parts of our country it might be considered a hazmat.

But if that same load has post holes on it. does that also make it a for hire load? And cause my truck pulling my race car trailer. To be commercial?

Back in the 80's almost every load I hauled. Half the miles were sailboat fuel or Dispatcher brains. But then again back in those days. We hauled company stuff out. And hauled Butt back, to get that next load. Run 3 log books and run like mad. Make no cash and never get to bed. OOhhh the bad old days. don't and never would go back to Triple digit large cars. Ride with pride and eat bread and water.. No cash in it. but Black and chrome sure looked good at 100 and back against the dash. Double over 18 Screaming Gears............

and left handed monkey wrenches.

I was actually in a well know discount store one day, just wandering as I waited for the wife (now ex-wife). As I perused the cheap tool aisle I observed, hanging on the pretty placard a "Crescent Wrench". Next to that, facing the opposite direction on its placard was the "Metric Crescent Wrench".

After I finished choking and laughing I realized that someone, somewhere, at some time, had probably purchased one of each, because they weren't sure which one they needed. I also wanted to commend the guy that came up with that marketing strategy.

As a cadet on a ship, we were told to borrow a bucket of steam from the ship in the next berth.  Reportedly, one cadet welded a valve to a bucket lid and went to get some.  I imagine the bucket would implode if it was sealed well, once the steam cooled.

the other one was to go wait on the bow for the mail buoy so you could get the mail.

where i grew up, we were told to grab a gunny sack and a flashlight to go snipe hunting at night.

and my father would honk at snow snakes crossing the roads. . .

Don't forget 50 yards of chow line.

We once put a gate valve in a hand rail to turn on the cooling water for the hand rail.

And sent someone for concrete welding rods.

We had to much time on our hands when I was in the navy.

I was helping a friend one day and he asked me to pass him the "all sixteenths wrench"... took me awhile.
