  1. Sometimes they do real good and sometimes they seem almost clueless. The lab here in Albq.. suggested early on that for a basic blood draw for testing and some other tests that they do the draw outside. Maybe under an awning. Seems pretty smart to me but managment did not go along with it for whatever reason. Some of the tech still don't understand why. BTW I had a telephone appointment with my primary some months back. It worked OK. But he had been my primary for several years and knew me. My new guy for next week I don't know and have nevrer seen so no way will it be as effective as with the old primary. And yet I was able to see eye clinic for glaucoma test and quick eye test up close and personal. Also saw the dermatologist pretty up close and personal. Both masked up and taking the most precautions possible. So why can't I be seen by a primary the first time even in a tent outside? This is more as a statement/question than a gripe. Some of this just makes mind go Hmmmmm.
  2. If you are in the mail service you will be the proud owner of a folder in the mail facility. More like a renter I guess. And it will be legal.
  3. Don''t worry the food will make up for it. I don't drink much but I will make the occaisional exception.. It has been way too many years but my favorite place was Friedhelm"s on the west end of town. The best red cabbage soup i ever had. Great black bread and schintzel like I got in Germany. There used to be a condiment shop on the main st that sold jam's, jelly. salsa, etc. If it is still there and they have samples watch out for one that says extremely hot try at you own risk. If they do BELIEVE it.
  4. Seriously envious as I could enjoy some really good schnitzel and pitching washers at Luckenbach. beer too
  5. We all get frustrated but mostly want to work with the system but we have to know how to do it based on information that has to come from them. All veterans deserve and should receive care even if they are unable to do it by phone or computer. Think homeless vets or vet on the street due to mental issues. For myself I will be tickled to death to work with them if I can. I used to only be able to access myhealthevet at library or some other wifi site. I am often in areas where there is no cell signal. Next week when I have my video appt. ? I will make a point of being somewhere I can get a call. But I was told it was a telephone consult when I made it. When I checked the appts on my healthevet it said a video consult. I currently won't be able to do a video. I msgd them to tell them and to ask should I get labwork before the "visit" since they did not specify. Give me information and I can work with it, even a fairly last minute change but I can't pull information out of my A--. Did anyone know that all clinics in the same hospital do not utilize myhealthevet? I do and that is a complication at times. Look, I will meet them in a parking lot , or open field or damn near anywhere to do my part but I have to know. I also want to point out that different VA hospitals and clinics may be doing a better job than others.
  6. DJW. How was that helpful? We can work with information and straight answers if we can get either. I am pretty damn tolerant and understanding but there are definately issues out there and they are not always forthcoming with the information I need to work with them. Having a daughter in health care at St Jude I am cognizant of the issues but I am still pretty pissed about some the issue in dealing with the VA health care system. IE: canceled appts. with no notice. New primary with no notice even after the fact. Finally got a new appointment and when I checked on it a few minutes ago it shows to be a video appointment that I may not be able to do. Hopefully it will be done just by basic phone (not smart phone) I would take the risk using precautions to see a new primary in person for the first time even if masked up and across a 10 foot distance. I got my big boy pants on but I know the realities. I even blame rules put in place by Congress that cause problems the VA might fix if they would not be breaking a law. agesilaus, Do you use the myhealthevet capabilities to communicate with the VA? It is really helpful- but not flawless.
  7. You need to contact them if you haven't. I know there were some extensions automatically applied and may still be. I was trying to get mine renewed to qualify for the "real ID" and I stopped at multiple offices until I found out they had automatically extended the deadline as all the offices were closed. I was supposed to do mine by the end of October.
  8. He says 2009 four winds chateau class C. You didn't ask about smelling amonia. I remember when you guys broke the bad news to me. It still hurts.😩 I hope his is better news but I suspect the worst. In a 25' class c it may not be possible but in my case I have been getting by for years since by using a small dorm size frig with double doors. I put it on the floor between the benches for the dining tables. Kind of a pain when traveling but he might fair better since he probably has generator to run it on while traveling. I even got lucky buying a used one from friend for $75. but I think I saw one comparable at Walmart for about $130.
  9. I am pretty sure that varied by county "law" as far back as I remember.
  10. Good idea but highly unlikely being able to do it.
  11. I don't know about now but I grew up mostly in Dallas city limits and for many years there were different areas within the city limits that were wet and others dry. Garland Rd at White Rock Creek was the demaracation line there. On NW hwy the creek at the north end of White Rock lake was the demarcation. And a lot of other place. Garland was dry, Mesquite was dry and more. Last I heard a county government was a government. As has been said a lot of this was related to the power ofchurches. I remember when we had "Blue laws" that limited what you could buy on Sunday. Town East Ford a major dealer would be closed on a SAT. so they could be open on Sunday based on how the law was worded. If I recall you could buy milk for your baby but could not buy a bottle to put it in.
  12. absolute best thoughts for your safety. This will make a good war story once you survive it.
  13. I have only voted by mail for over 20 years so I am happy to have been able to do so but for some reason I found it gave me a good feeling to do it in person when I was able to do so. i was fortunate to have never had to wait even an hour. I highly respect those that stand in line for hours in all kinds of weather to vote. I want to thank them. I despise anyone that tries to prevent people from voting. That goes for any political party. PS I have requested the form to request an absentee ballot this year. I am volunteering near Albq. and I would consider driving all the way to Livingston to vote if necessary this year. I did drive from Dallas to Livingston once to vote as I was volunteering there at the time and didn't get my absentee ballot on time. (mostly my fault)
  14. More trick questions. This time with logic attached. What a concept.😁 You really have to keep and eye on those tin horn politicians or they will sneak stuff by you every time. The ones that are trying to help protect us all are the absolute worst. They shouldn't have that kind of power. I thought I better edit and point out some of this is sarcasm.
  15. Please don't ask trick questions as it only confuses me.😀
  16. Absolutley. I would like it to be cheaper but on just 2 tows years ago I have still come out ahead. I hope I have to keep paying and never have to use them. Same as my health insurance
  17. Was this increase on motorhomes mainly. I just renewed in May for my travel trailer and I have the next level above basic. It didn't seem that much higher to me. I have had 2 tows and 1 flat and 1 lockout call in about 20 years with Coach Net. The question is for anyone. I do like to point out to new people that their calls don't always go quite as smoothly as advertised but my outcome has always been satisfactory and that is what I want. I wonder if all the folks jumping in to RVs during the pandimic may be somewhat overwhelming the system. I have wondered if a lot of the new folks even know how important it is to have a tow service for RVs.
  18. I don't claim to know. But this sure doesn't sound correct to me. If true it could be along the lines of being able to fish from the shoreline of ponds/lakes within the bounderies of Texas State Parks even if you have to have a state license for any other part of the same lake or stream. A possible example might be lakes/streams in Yellowstone NP.
  19. Good to know Dutch. Still would not help me in Deming of course.😀
  20. Good thing to keep in mind. CVS is in a lot of places but certainly not all. Last time I was in Deming the closest one was over 60 miles away at Las Cruces.
  21. Isn't that because they are on top of it pre-emptively? Stop it before it runs wild and you have a chance of controlling the situation. That VS the way we have done and are doing it in the US.
