  1. Of course there is a rising death toll. And the total number will continue to rise. Just like the rising death toll from cancer, car wrecks, and everything else. However, the daily US death rate has been falling since the high of 2,701 on May 6th. There were 250 Covid deaths on June 28th. That is a VERY significant drop. Only time will tell if there is a big increase in deaths from states opening up, social distancing failures, and anti-mask wearing behavior.
  2. This may be bad news for some, but good news for others. This will be the first winter my wife and I are snowbirding in AZ. Last month I started calling parks for reservations. Either all the pet sites were already taken or the sites long enough for my 5er were already taken or the park was already fully booked. Eventually I found a site in a small park. The manager told me it was the last available site in the park. Once Oct rolls around, I'll re-evaluate and check with parks that are more in-line with our desires. I may find a better deal or 2.
  3. Super Buddy, sometimes available on eBay.
  4. Another indicator that your converter is not working properly is to run your slides in/out. If they move slower than normal, there is a good chance your converter is going out. As for checking your batteries, make sure you disconnect the cables when you put the voltmeter on them. Otherwise, they may be getting some power from the converter.
  5. Zip code means a lot to insurance companies. My vehicles are registered and insured in Fla. Yes, insurance is expensive. In a few years I am going to query SD, likely when I decide to buy a new truck. The sales tax difference will pay for at least a year of insurance.
  6. Used to move frequently. Got tired of that, so now we stay put for the season. Getting to a seasonal location means moving at least weekly. I like it.
  7. Not to split hairs, but is your commercial license valid for double towing non-commercially?
  8. Is it now legal in CA? Licenses to double tow typically apply to commercial drivers, not pleasure drivers. And yes, it is illegal in OR and WA, but as you said, most people who do it just hope they don't get caught. And they don't.
  9. I just drove my 2011 GMC Denali dually pulling my 42' 5er from Olathe (~ 10 miles south of Delta) to Salida. No issues and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. Traffic on 50 is light. IDK about traffic on I-25. Monarch Pass (about 20 miles west of Salida) is 11,000+ feet. Lots of parking and a restaurant at the top. I have driven 50 from Olathe to Grand Junction a few times recently. 4-lanes and an easy drive. 70 from GJ to Glenwood Springs is the same. It has been many years since I drove 70 from one end to the other. IMO, neither route you are considering is a problem as long as your truck is up to the task.
  10. Do you have a smartphone? If so, use it and go to the Play store. Download the free "Winegard" Satellite Pointer app. It is one app with antenna and sat pointer. Once it is installed, select the WA Dish network on the app, then go outside and point your phone at the sky. You will see on the screen where the birds are. Line it up as best you can with the dish and look for the birds again. If you can see them with the phone app, your dish should be able to see them.
  11. You don't say how old you are but you imply you're relatively young. You may want to look into workamping. There are plenty of jobs available for singles. Plenty of full time with pay if you need it and plenty part time without pay if you don't. You'll have something to do, you'll meet people, and you can travel.
  12. LOVE IT!!! Yeah, those people who talk negatively about trikes are more willing to give up riding than to ride something else. Cut off their nose to spite their face. To choose to stop riding is one thing. Making ignorant comments about someone else's choice so they can keep riding is another.
  13. Solid axle HD trike can be a rough ride depending on the road. Lots of different vendors for Honda trike kits, some with solid axles, some with independent suspensions. I know a few folks with Spyders and they LOVE them. Not a very big dealer network, but you might want to research their reliability. Could be a large dealer network is not needed. There are so many independent repair shops that work on Japanese bikes in the US that a 10-yr old bike is no issue. And yes, it is EASY to get parts for old Goldwings...considering the previous version of the Wing is only 3 years old (the 1832 Wing was in production from 2001 - 2017). Now a GL1500 Wing might have issues getting SOME parts, but that bike has been out of production for almost 20 years, so... There is also a company that produces a replacement front end that has 2 wheels and leans. I do NOT mean the Yamaha Nikken. The one I mean is a kit. I know they have kits for HD. They probably make kits for others. You'd have to research that. The overall width of the bike remains about the same as a regular 2-wheel bike..
  14. Docj beat me to it. I just saw this article. HAHA!!! Good looking out on the "pro" article by the same author. Gotta love the media!!
  15. No, a funnel will NOT help. The high volume pump will simply overwhelm any funnel and splatter diesel all over the place.
  16. "But back stateside, with campgrounds shuttered nationwide, it was nearly impossible to find a place with an RV hookup to park for the night." IMO, this is more than just a little bloviating and is totally opposite of my experience thus far this year. When we traveled from LA to CO, it was VERY easy to find a spot for the night...and longer. We used several municipal parks thru TX and private RV parks the rest of the way.
  17. Consider the mattress you have at home. If you like it, maybe that is what you should get in the RV, too. One way to know if a standard queen will fit is determine how much excess space you have when your bedroom slide is closed. If your current RV mattress is smooshed up, then a standard mattress will be more smooshed. BTW, the "bed in a box" like Casper, Purple, etc., make getting them into the RV very easy.
  18. If so, was it a PITA or easy to do? I've used Express Scripts for years with few problems until now. Express has shortages of certain meds and the delivery delays are impacting my travel plans. So I'm looking at making a change.
  19. Just to clarify, do you mean your slide TOPPERS? I realize your wrote awnings in your post.
  20. Anyone who thinks that is real is an idiot.

  22. Saw a news report a few weeks ago. Doc stated virtually any mammal can catch a virus from other mammals. The symptom severity varies between species.
  23. Attributed to a handler at the zoo who was infected.
