  1. All I can say is...WOW!! In Fla, the 3-day wait is NOT "a knee jerk legislative reaction to the Parkland High School murders." It has been a Fla constitutional requirement since AT LEAST 1992.
  2. The OP never said there was no background check done. In FL, if you have a CCW permit, there is no waiting period as long as the NICS comes back good.
  3. It is possible, even likely, that somewhere in the vehicle code the manufacturer's sticker is referenced. Maybe something along the lines of "...weights are not to exceed manufacturer vehicle specifications as defined by the certificate of origin, vehicle placard, etc." or something like that. That kind of phraseology would eliminate the need to reference the manufacturer's sticker in every statute. Or not.
  4. Snowmobiles. Many in northern climates, whether Colorado or New Hamsphire, call them "sleds".
  5. Are you a DISH Outdoors customer? IIRC, the app only works for that promotion. I have the same DISH account as if I were a S&B customer.
  6. The person was NOT stopped for being overweight. They were stopped for faulty equipment. The LEO must have been coming from the opposite direction since the OP said the cop mentioned headlights pointing to the sky. Maybe the LEO noticed the SRW squatting and figured it was overweight. A DRW may have eliminated that issue. Maybe not. I've been across the US several times in the past 8 yrs. Never had an issue with LEOs.
  7. Meh. Whenever I see a SRW pulling a big 5er, I wonder if the owner has weighed the rig.
  8. It may have something to do with the time of day you chat. The earlier in the afternoon I chat with them, the faster I get thru. Getting stuck on chat happened to me once last week. I stuck with it and was taken are of after a few minutes. This happened around 5 or 6 pm central time. Finally getting thru on chat probably took as long as it would take for a Facebook message exchange.
  9. I've had people ask "Does your dog bite?". To which I reply "All dogs bite".
  10. Moki Dugway and the Muley Point overlook are also not to be missed.
  11. Been fulltiming in a 40' 5er since March. Have traveled extensively in 38' - 44' 5ers for the past 8 yrs. Never an issue with size IF YOU DO YOUR RESEARCH!! YOU have to look at parks/campgrounds in the areas you want to stay. As long as you do that, I see no reason you will run into problems. Use the dually as a daily driver all the time. You learn to park further away from store entrances, avoid drive thrus, and fill the tank without the 5er attached the night before you travel. And not to change the thread's topic, but invest in a TPMS for both the truck and 5er. I am happy with my Truck Systems Technology (TST) brand system. 10 sensors with room for expansion if ever needed.
  12. And the nice thing is you can get it all set up now, but not start sending your mail there until Dec or later.
  13. Depending on how big the coach is, 330 HP could be under powered by today's standards.
  14. YES!!!!!!!!! Let them do the work. It might take them a few days to get back with you, due to Dorian. IIRC, underwriters wait a certain amount of time before they begin writing policies following a hiurricane.
  15. Are you sure you are in a place that gets OTA tv?
  16. Have had an 8800 for about 6 months. It works fine.
  17. Unless you plan to dry camp or overnight at Walmart, you may have difficulty finding RV parks that are still open in Nov.
  18. In the park I am staying I have seen a LOT of e-bikes from different parts of the US. Have yet to see one with a license plate.
  19. There WAS an issue in Fla. That issue has been resolved.
  20. Nice. Thanks for posting. Too bad all states' permits don't have this option.
  21. I don't think that is correct. AFAIK, there is NEVER a time you don't have to do the background check via the NICS. Perhaps you mean the permit eliminates the waiting period. If you are positive the state permit eliminates the need for the NIC, please include the statute or link to the statute.
