  1. So, what type of credit cards does Costco accept?
  2. I was a Sam's Club member for about 12 years. Never even seen a Costco, much less been in one. I finally realized that the prices on the items I was buying weren't any better than just going to Walmart or elsewhere. I quit going to Sam's when I discovered that their bulk price for motor oil was higher than the same oil at Walmart in one quart bottles. I suppose if I had a big family or ran a small business, it might be easier/better to go to Sam's or Costco to stock up on daily items like paper and food. However, for just myself, I find Amazon to be a better value. For $120 year, I get free two day s/h on almost every item and get other benefits like Prime Video, and I can shop from the comfort of my computer.
  3. Yes. The CO detector was fairly new. The battery was six years old. I had smelled a faint odor a couple of times. It didn't really smell like propane and my LP detector was not in alarm, so I assumed it was an odor from outdoors. I routinely check the water level and had recently filled the battery, may have contributed to it's failure. Anyway, after I replaced the battery, the CO detector went back to normal. All is well and I'm glad.
  4. Not necessarily. If he is pulling a trailer which is rated at 11,501 GVWR, he will need a Class A license. That's why I posted the link. People can read the law for themselves and see what license fits their situation.
  5. My CO only detector tripped repeatedly when the house battery started outgassing from over charging or whatever. I don't know if it was hydrogen, but it was the cause. Opened the outside battery compartment on my trailer and the battery was fuming. Replaced battery, end of CO detector problem. Here's a couple of cases indicating the same. https://community.fireengineering.com/group/routineresponses/forum/topic/show?id=1219672%3ATopic%3A144328 https://hawkenvironmental.com/hydrogen-gas-can-create-false-reading-carbon-monoxide-alarms/
  6. DMV has nothing to do with driver's license. They are administered by DPS. Why call them when you can read it for yourself? Classes of Driver's License
  7. IMO, Part D is not a benefit to 90% of the people on it. I take three maintenance drugs daily and in five years my Part D provider has not paid out a single penny for those drugs. I could get all of them on some other discount program for the same or better price. The reason I'm on Part D is so if I ever cross over into that other 10% who it does benefit. Because it is such a good benefit for them, I'm happy to participate and contribute my $30 per month.
  8. So people who use the left side of their brain can find it as well as those who use the right side or both sides.
  9. One of my favorite spots out of Cortez is up 145 north of Dolores several miles to 38 along the West Dolores River. There are a couple of campgrounds along 38 I've never stayed in, but I think they have electric and vault toilets. On past Dunton is where I like, up high and you can view all of the peaks in the area. Beautiful high meadows, cool air, lot's of wildlife. Continuing on 38 will bring you out on 145 again between Rico and Ames. From there you can choose your path, lot's of open camping all the way north to IH70.
  10. Then what need do you have of the postal service? Can't you just send smoke signals? 🙂
  11. My water heater weighs 100 lbs and is connected to rigid piping, not to mention the screws in the front. The wedges keep it from sliding fore or aft. I can't imagine it moving much.
  12. You mean besides the Boy Scouts? Sorry, couldn't help myself. 😀

    Insurance caveats

Location, location, location. I've paid more than $1200 per year on a single pickup truck for over 20 years.
  14. Thanks for that information. Even more reason why MrsSquid would wonder what his opinion might be.
  15. Well, it's my understanding that Shawn Loring is legal rep for Escapees. He is a member of this forum and contributes sometimes. I just did a forum search for his name and came up with three pages worth of results. I think it's perfectly natural to wonder what his stance is on this issue. Search for Loring
  16. Now, that one I've heard, even used it a few times. And, I have seen lipstick on a pig a few times, Miss Piggy of the Muppets and Arnold Ziffel come to mind. But, polishing a turd?
  17. Who tied your knickers in a knot? Maybe she wanted to hear a lawyer's opinion and the forum members opinion both. You're not in charge of what people can ask or not. Incidentally, I thought that's what Escapees' lawyers were for, answering questions which come up now and then.
  18. I can truthfully say that in my 70 years or so on this planet I have never heard that expression. Who would even consider polishing a turd? I guess that's how new discoveries are made, trying things I never would have thought feasible.
  19. So, what exactly are you warning us to do, or not do, or say, or not say?
  20. At this point, the only "compelling" reason would be environmental, if you are so inclined. There's no way these vehicles make economic sense at current costs, unless you live next door to one of those charging stations. Last year, an acquaintance bought a brand new $900,000 Entegra DP motorhome and a brand new Tesla within a week of each other. When I asked him why he bought the Tesla, since he could afford any car on the market, he said he was concerned about the environment. Go figure.

    $100,000 part

No need to worry until they start pumping platinum into you.
  22. Evidently, they haven't seen "The Mule" with 88 year old Clint Eastwood.
  23. Jurors have a tendency to side with an individual against a large company. I only served on one jury in my life. It took me two hours to convince the other 11 jurors that they shouldn't pay out an insurance claim which clearly wasn't deserved.
