  1. That white pickup appears to be one of those that works with construction crews, possibly a construction company supervisor. DPS was on the scene (in the raincoat) and I think their vehicles are black. Having emergency lights glowing is no deterrent to some people. Probably enough blame to go around.
  2. The only "cruiser" I saw was the DPS vehicle, which was only after the wreck when the camera was zoomed out. It definitely had all it's warning lights going. Which "cruiser" are you referring to?
  3. Dutch, I was attending a criminal investigation course one time and during class two people burst into the room. One made a loud statement and the other took a jacket off of the coat rack, then they both ran out. Each student was asked to write down what had happened. Of the 20 or so students, descriptions of the intruders were varied. Only two students knew what had been taken, but described it differently. Only about half the class could recall what was said. And, these were professional law enforcement officers. That's why many in the justice business consider eye witness testimony to be the weakest kind of evidence. ☺️
  4. Isn't it strange how everyone sees something different in the video? For example, every single vehicle I saw had their headlights on except the white truck, which was parked fifty feet off the road. That's what I saw. Also, I never saw a pickup towing a fifth wheel at all. Looks to me like the HDT driver was the one who was distracted or whatever, hard to blame the others for anything.
  5. I changed from Plan F to Plan G this year and I have several pre-existing conditions.
  6. Not necessarily. My old company's Plan F was only $10 more per month than Plan G. I changed companies this year and went with Plan G, which was cheaper.
  7. I appreciate your opinion and I sort of agree with you in principle, but neither your nor my opinion have anything to do with the Terms of Service. You referred to the Terms of Service earlier. The TOS is a specific legal document which spells out specific performance standards in the contract. Do you have a link to the Terms of Service clause which you referred to? I haven't seen anything which states you can't use another hotspot device for the Mobley plan. There's been much discussion of this over on HoFo and most of the gurus over there agree that as long as you're using a hotspot, and not a tablet or phone, that it complies with the TOS. In any case, I hope they don't do away with the unlimited Mobley Plan as many of us depend on it for out internet.
  8. I've read my Terms of Service several times and can't find where that is true. Could you furnish a link to it please. Not doubting your word, just haven't ever seen that. As far as "easily" terminating customers, they can do that at any time for any or no good reason, regardless of where the SIM is.
  9. Hopefully, the Mobley Connected Car Plan won't be next. Airstream Plan No Longer Unlimited
  10. Follow up on my earlier post. A couple of months ago I upgraded my Win7 laptop using the exact method on the webpage posted above. After all was done, I was prompted to activate Win10. That took me to a Microsoft page and they wanted like $130 to activate my upgrade. So, I returned my laptop to Win7. I read a bunch of different methods of how to activate using hacks, but decided against that approach. Today, after the above information, I went through the process again on another Win7 laptop. The process went smoothly and at the end it said that my Win10 was already activated. So, on one Win7 machine it worked but not on the other. Both laptops had the original Win7 OS that it came with from the factory, one a Dell and the other an Acer. Don't know why I got two different results. Thanks for the link k4rs, it inspired me to try it again.
  11. Thanks. After you go through this process, isn't the upgrade only good for 30 days? At the end of 30 days, won't you need to buy the Win10 license to activate Win10?
  12. Would you mind sharing that procedure for us please?
  13. I don't think it has to be registered to sell it. It does have to be inspected before it can be registered, that's why I said it was a "catch". I suppose the new owner could pay for it, then tow it to get it inspected, then go transfer the title and register it. With the title and a bill of sale, it should not be a problem if one got pulled over. I just think it might be easier to sell if it was ready to hit the road and it had a current inspection and current plates on it. The previous plates are sufficient until the new owner can register it.
  14. I've let a travel trailer go unregistered for three years before. When I went to renew the registration, they had me swear that it hadn't been on the road with it in that time. I paid for the renewal, a partial amount for the remainder of the year until normal registration came up. There was no $200 fee for being expired. If you can find the previous registration papers or the latest renewal notice, take it to the County Tax office and they will take care of it. If you can't find either of those, take the title so they will have something with a VIN to go on. Just tell them the trailer has been sitting in one spot for 8 years and hasn't been on the road. The catch is, you must have it inspected before you can do that. I just took mine to the nearest inspection location, had it inspected, went and parked it, then went directly to the courthouse to renew.
  15. If you're concerned about humidity, you don't need to be staying anywhere in the eastern half of Texas in any season.
  16. Like docj says, it depends. Houston is considered on the Gulf Coast, yet is 40+ miles inland and sees no effect from salt. If you stay within a mile of the beach for any time at all, you will see corrosion from salt, five miles inland minimal effect, 20 miles will have no effect.
  17. Where will you be camping? If boondocking, you'll be challenged to carry enough water for too many 23 minute showers. You'll also fill up your grey tank quickly. So, for boondocking, I'd say take outdoor showers and bring an extra water tank. If staying in RV Parks, you're not likely to be able to set up an outdoor shower contraption. I don't think I've ever stayed at an RV Park which would allow that, so you'll need to use the park shower or go indoors on your RV. Campgrounds are a mixed bag. Most will let you set up a separate tent or dressing room, etc. I don't know how they'd feel about you putting all that water on the ground though. Many campgrounds don't have sewer taps, so you'd be limited to your grey tank in that case. Long showers would fill it up pretty quickly. Of course, since you're building your own RV, you can have as many fresh water tanks and grey water tanks as you wish. You can use a demand type water heater for your long, hot showers. However, with extended showers you'd go through propane quicker than normal also. In summary, long hot showers don't necessarily go along with RV'ing that well..............but can be done. Good luck.
  18. I had a minor problem with my fridge once so I called Norcold technical support. In the course of conversation, I asked about leveling. He said that if you're comfortable walking in your RV, that's level enough for your fridge.
  19. You can tie it down the same, but the support poles allow you to tie it up also. Without the support poles, a wind pushing downward on the awning can do damage. A manual awning has support poles built in.
  20. How does she know when to bring out the cold watermelon then? You got one of those little can style air horns?
  21. You mean besides the fact that Amazon sells Consumer Cellular phones and sim cards? Just kidding, I didn't know what you meant either.
  22. I think Howard Stern is keeping them afloat. He has a pretty big audience.
  23. That's good to hear. Was that recently, since the XM merger? I had it once about seven years ago and had a hard time getting them to stop the service. I've talked to others with the same experience. You can't do it online, it's in their terms of service that you have to call them. When you do, they don't want to stop service. They argue about it, etc. I agree, you can just change credit card numbers, but I don't care to go through all that hassle. SiriusXM is on the way out, there's too many music services that we can use through our phone and integrate into the car audio. They're struggling to stay in business.
  24. Barb, you are always commenting on peoples' "scientific illiteracy". Perhaps you should brush up on your reading comprehension skills. Please cite one place where I wrote "government bad", "government wrong", "government stupid", "government overreach", "anti government". For some reason, you read my posts and assumed that I was against government regulation. I don't know how you came to that conclusion. I simply pointed out that it was the government which put an end to most incandescent bulbs in use, not consumer choice. Do you disagree with that? I didn't make a judgment at all, one way or the other. I don't know why you came up with all this seat belts, lead pipes, leaded gas, drunk driving, etc. I never said I was against government regulations. In fact, I spent forty years of my life working for the government, most of those years enforcing many of the health and safety codes we have today. Instead of seeing what you want to see when someone posts something, perhaps you should just read what they wrote.
