  1. Hey RV, I think I remember you're a Moto fan. Motorola is running a special on this year old Moto Z3 Play. You get a Moto Z3 Play and choice of Speaker System, Game Pad, Two Shells, or the Folio for $170. If you just want the phone, you can get it for $152 by using coupon YOUDECIDE10 This Moto even has NFC for those who need it. https://www.motorola.com/us/products/moto-z-play-gen-3?utm_source=affiliate&CID=all:affiliate:e9q74i:1225267:Slickdeals+LLC&cjevent=e521c32deb5e11e9808000560a1c0e10 I would buy one but my G5 Plus is only a couple of years old and still does everything I need it to and the battery goes about four days for me.

  3. Me neither. The rough texture of TPO vinyl holds dirt and is tough to keep clean. The felt-like underlayer absorbs and wicks moisture. My present roof has smooth vinyl on it and I really like it, easy to clean. Dirt, algae, mold, and mildew just wash right off. Looks as good at five years as it did new.
  4. Yep, I did not get any noticeable improvement at all in my present location.
  5. It's strange how people have different experiences with the same activity. In eleven years of full time rv'ing and DISH service, I've never had those kinds of issues. I've changed my locals on a regular basis by using the chat feature, with a simple pre-designed script telling them my account number and that I want to change my service address. It's usually done in a few minutes. I don't remember ever having to call DISH. I may have, but if so it's been several years and I can't remember what it was for. I don't own a satellite, but I do own the receiver and dish and do have an outdoors account, but can't change the service address using the app.
  6. That's sad to hear. It certainly pays to do your due diligence.
  7. I'm no Medicare guru, but I may have an answer. All Plan G policies offer the same level of insurance coverage. However, I believe each insurance company may also have extra benefits in their plan which may or may not have value. My plan offers a program for discounts available to members for fitness equipment, gym memberships, etc. Someone earlier mentioned Silver Sneakers is offered by some companies. Also, some folks may not want to do business with Company ABC, even if they are cheaper. Or, they may want to do business with Company XYZ because their cousin's neighbor's uncle works there, or whatever.
  8. Why? If they are a legitimate dealer, they're not going to steal your RV. If they're not legitimate, why would you do business with them? You've got to hand over the title at some point, why not just let them have it and they can handle your business as it comes up?
  9. This week DISH is experience an extremely high volume of calls and chats because they are in a pissing match with the Fox system. People are missing their football and baseball games.
  10. That situation existed long before Al Gore invented the internet. 🙂
  11. Strength of signal and download speeds are two different things. I have a good strong signal where I am. During the day, I get speeds of 25-50 down and 10-15 up. In the evening when workers come home and use the cell, my speeds are half of that...............but my signal strength is the same.
  12. In all my years of full time rv'ing, the only problem I've encountered is when people use the machines to clean their pet articles and the machines are full of dog hair. But, then again, maybe I'm a little more tolerant than some about sharing public facilities.
  13. Are you only referring to their gas prices or groceries also? That's interesting because I've had a different experience. The Krogers I've shopped at, including a couple of locations where I now am, are not competitively priced. And, if you don't have one of their memberships, they are very high. Maybe I'm spoiled to HEB, but even in areas where there was no HEB I found Kroger to be higher than the competition. I don't like grocery shopping at Walmart, but must admit that their prices are very low compared to most of the big chain stores I've gone in, including Kroger.
  14. For those of you who want to extend your ethernet and not punch holes in the walls, I've been using a set of These for about a month now. So far, they work really well, just $35 at Amazon. If 600 Mbps is not fast enough, they also offer AV1200 and AV2000. The instructions say they have to be on the same circuit. I contacted DP-Link and asked. Same circuit means same phase, or the same breaker box for home installation. As long as they're on the same breaker box in a single phase setting, they should work, according to them. If someone else has any experience with these devices, I'd be interested to hear of your results.
  15. In light of geodog's post, I might suggest an alternative. Go to Gallup and take 491 up through Cortez and into Monticello, from there 191 to I-70. I don't remember any steep grades or switchbacks on that route.
  16. That's what I was looking at and wondered about San Antonio. I consider it a big metro area. I'm surprised they don't require emissions testing.
  17. That's good to know. What about San Antonio?
  18. If you're registered in an emissions required county, you can't go outside your county for an inspection anyway.
  19. In order for low pressure to be "sucking" up the roofing, there has to be high pressure underneath the membrane. If it was properly adhered to the roof, it wouldn't happen. Otherwise, all roofs would go down the highway in a bubble. So, yes, there is air getting under the membrane.....................which means a leak. On an airplane wing, pressure is removed from the top of the wing and higher pressure pushes up on the bottom of the wing, called lift. So, it is high pressure forcing it up.
  20. I would definitely get a new roof. There's a good chance that water had seeped under the rubber/vinyl and dissolved the water based glue. If so, you may find water damage when you peel off the roof material. In any case, if you didn't have water under there before, you will have in the future if you don't repair/replace the roof. I wouldn't "live with" it.

    flooding

Most people buy flood insurance for their sticks and bricks through the National Flood Insurance Program from FEMA. It does not cover vehicles. Your normal vehicle insurance should cover flood damage unless it specifically excludes it for some reason. It's one of the reasons auto insurance (and RV) is so high along the Gulf Coast, lot's of flooded vehicles over the years.

    flooding

Deja Vu all over again. Harvey gave us 54" in four days. This Imelda has dumped as much as 43" in two days, just ten miles west of Port Arthur in the Hamshire area. That's more than many places get in a year of rainfall. I know it's flat and the coast and water doesn't drain very well, but I doubt there's any place in this country which can take that much rain without heavy flooding. Hang in there Glenn, they say all the rain should be gone by tomorrow night.
