  1. The park we are in has a new Newmar New Aire. It is a very short Class A. I looked it up and the starting price was $400K or there about. Umm, no, sorry, no small gas powered Class A is worth that IMO.
  2. FedEx and UPS fill in the places and time that the USPS can't. For example, I was late and I know it getting Christmas packages all to our kids. There was no way in heck that USPS would get them there on time no matter what I paid. FedEx on the other hand will get them there in time and I did not have to pay a whole lot more than the USPS maximum.
  3. Not accusing anyone of anything but sometimes I wonder if forums (and I am a member of many) have people like "secret shoppers" to make posts just to stir up the s***. 🀣
  4. I think so too. A cousin of my wife ran a company that required A LOT of travel in a years time. He had Ford diesel trucks for hauling the trailers needed for the jobs and a Mercedes diesel car to drive himself. The trucks averaged over 200,000 miles a year and got new ones every year. The Mercedes when he retired it for a newer model had over 1,000,000 miles. All he ever did was change the oil and filters, change the fuel filters, get new tires and batteries, and ALWAYS buy fuel at high volume stations. His is a philosophy I use for my own truck. If we are not pulling we use the car and once every so often if not pulling we take the truck on a road trip of a 100 miles or so to keep the cobwebs out. I always keep a spare fuel filter in the truck just in case I do end up with cruddy fuel but I have never used them yet outside of the regular change. I do not change the oil on a regular mileage schedule but I do change it when it says I need to. My two cents but for pulling a 40' fifth wheel I will take a diesel over gas any day.
  5. That is absolutely amazing! I really admire talent when I see it.
  6. Well, since we already have T-Mobile this might be worth exploring further.
  7. I have been following this with this thread because it is interesting. My initial reaction is good luck!! We have been caught in a couple of situations where we have been in campgrounds and it got bitterly cold and the weather was inclement. One was in a blizzard in Raton, NM where the entire town was without power and I was glad I had full propane tanks since the park could not have refilled them. I had to start the truck up every 4-5 hours to keep the batteries charged so the furnace could run and run it did. I don't care how well your RV is insulated or "four seasons" (ours is one of these) they simply are not the same as a sticks and bricks. You need to plan accordingly and it looks like you are. For me, I will move with the weather - south in the winter and north in the summer. πŸ˜‰
  8. Progresso is not exactly Brownsville, but it is a good place to go. A friend went there for dental work and saved thousands over the cost of having his treatment done in the US. The dentist, whose name I cannot remember, was trained in the US. I just don't know how border crossings are being handled right now, but the dentist(s) are within walking distance of the border, you do not need to drive.
  9. I'm afraid I have absolutely no idea. I am retired military and at the time my provider was the USAF Academy and the surgery was done there.
  10. I had cataract surgery done in 2016. I only needed it done on the right eye but they did both eyes so I would not need to wear glasses (I was very near sighted). Now I do need glasses for some reading of fine print but generally no need. The lenses I received were toric lenses so they they were able to remove most, but not quite all, of the astigmatism I have. The main thing I noticed, aside from not needing glasses, was how much brighter and more colorful everything became. The cataract had slowly stolen that and it was so gradual that I never really noticed. The post-surgery change was dramatic.
  11. While not worded well, I think that when the article said 85+ first and 50- last the implication was that they would start with 85+ and work down in increments to the 50- group.
  12. That is why I use the stuff the squirts a stream, and... one thing I learned in the Navy was to be aware of the direction the wind was coming from so you didn't, erm, well, you know, into it. 🀣
  13. Had this exact same issue and was prepared to replace the pump. When I got into it I found that the filter on the suction side (intake) of the pump had a crack. Once I replaced that, the problem was fixed.
  14. I don't know what kind of wasp spray you use, but Spectracide Wasp and Hornet works as promised and it shoots about a 25 foot stream. It contains chemicals that cause skin irritation (and eye) and petroleum distillates. Hit a person (or bear) in the face with this stuff and I promise you will ruin their day.
  15. Have you contacted a dealer and/or the manufacturer?
  16. There is a Face Book group called "Ham Radio Crash Course" where you find a number of resources to aid your studies.
  17. Once you have a license take a look at Echo Link. It lets you DX without having to have a radio. I talk all over the world via Echo Link but you do have to have a callsign to even register for it.
  18. In my opinion, no this is not a good choice to get into the hobby. This transceiver is for 10-12 meter bands and will require a General license to get the full functionality out of it. Your first level of license will be technician which allows you to operate in a very limited way on the 10m band, but allows nearly full operation in the 6m - 23cm bands with operations in the 2m and 70cm bands being the most common. So my suggestion would be getting a Baofeng F8HP which is dual band 2m/70cm for around $75 if you want to transmit once you have a license. If all you want to do is listen and you are getting the RCI-2950 for free or cheap (that pic looks like an older one) then go for it.
  19. I am using Windy on a PC and it is the basic version.
  20. Kind of what I was thinking. The one in here now now is an Atwood brand which is actually half again as much as one from MTI. Interestingly enough the MTI one says that it should be replaced every 60 months and has an End Of Life warning which I can find no information like that on the Atwood unit.
  21. A couple of days ago we started smelling a propane smell in the RV. As it was a nice day, all the windows were open and the Maxx-Air was running along with the ceiling fan. I went outside and checked all the tank connections and pipes. The smell was strongest in the kitchen and I finally noticed that one of us had apparently bumped a burner knob on the stove and the gas was on. Now the stove was covered as we never use it, the cover is the platform for the induction cooker. Anyhow, once the burner knob was turned off the smell eventually cleared. What worries me is that we could smell it but the detector did not and it is just on the other side of the sink cabinet, maybe 4 feet away. Time to change out the detector do you all think?
  22. You clearly do not have a dog! 🀣 We have a king and our dog takes up the bottom center portion of the bed as hers. Period. LOL
  23. Now that is back, everything seems larger on my screen. Just this site and not others. Not complaining as it makes it easier to read without the reading glasses. πŸ˜„
